As of the end of May, more exhibitors had signed up for the Show than in the past few years. Exhibitors are adding more yachts to their displays.  New companies and new dealer networks – and some names just new to Newport – are in evidence. Plus more New Boat and Boating Product introductions are set to be announced! All are signs of a recovering marine market and a great year for the nation’s first in-water show of the 2012-13 boating season!

Newport for New Products, the Show’s iconic recognition of the best new boats and boating products, already has entries from Dufour, X-Yachts and Bavaria in the sailboat category; Ferretti, Hunt, Hinckley and American Tugs by Traditional Yachts in the powerboat category; plus, electronics and equipment from Forespar, RayMarine and Imtra. The Program, sponsored by Cruising World, Sailing World and Yachting magazines, will also, this year, include a People’s Choice Award with voting during Opening Day on Thursday, September 13.

Opening Day will also host the Annual News Conference feature of the show – open to the Press, Exhibitors and Visitors alike – at which Thom Dammrich, President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association will provide a report on the State of the Industry.

Also of national appeal, the Show’s Charitable Partner for 2012 will be the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation which provides education, support and relief for Coast Guard members and their families. And, on Saturday, attendees and exhibitors are invited to the “Lats and Atts Cruisers Party” that’s free to anyone inside the show gates at 6:00PM.

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the Show during usually magnificent September weather in New England to talk with almost 750 exhibitors and view some 600 yachts ranging in size from 15 to 85 feet, plus kayaks, inflatables, services, equipment, electronics and accessories of all types.
