Lionel Messi has ordered a Sunreef ULTIMA 88 luxury power catamaran, currently under construction at the yacht builder’s UAE shipyard. The new yacht will join his Balearic Islands-based MIM Ocean fleet, with a design that places family time, privacy and outdoor living at its centre.

A standout feature is Sunreef Yachts’ signature Ocean Lounge, bringing guests closer to the water for swimming, watersports and uninterrupted sea views. A dedicated jet ski garage provides convenient equipment storage, while twin 1,000hp engines will power the catamaran.

For Messi, the decision builds on his family’s longstanding enjoyment of time at sea.
“Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like, and they’re a perfect fit for what I’m looking for,” he said. “I’m really looking forward to experiencing the ULTIMA 88 and enjoying it with my family.”

Sunreef Yachts Founder and CEO Francis Lapp welcomed the footballer to the brand, describing luxury as the freedom to choose how to spend time with the people who matter most.
Founded in 2002, Sunreef builds bespoke sailing yachts, power catamarans and superyachts at its shipyards in Poland and the UAE. Messi’s ULTIMA 88 adds a high-profile owner to the builder’s growing community, with the yacht’s waterside spaces and private accommodation reflecting his focus on life at sea with family and friends.
