25m Schooner under Construction at Arkin Pruva Argos Yachts, Turkey

Burnett Yacht Design together with Arkin Pruva Argos Yachts in Antalya, Turkey are working on the construction of design no. 141, a new 83’ (25m) Schooner for a British client.

The hull and deck structure of the 83ft (25m) superyacht is nearing completion using wood epoxy methods benefitting from the combined experience of the yard, designer and owner’s surveyor Richard Ayers.

Design no. 141, the 25m Schooner will have a rig and deck gear by Formula Marine, with Aluminium spars built at their facility in The Netherlands. Sails will be supplied by Doyle’s Istanbul loft.

The Arkin Pruva Argos Sailing Yacht is intended for swift and relaxed cruising with a modest crew, the versatile rig will provide engaging and accessible sailing for those on board, and the layout gives plenty of open deck space for enjoyment both under way and at anchor.

The 25m sailing yacht will accommodate an owner’s party of six, in an Owners suite with shower and WC, and Two guest cabins aft with shared shower and WC with scope for two additional guests to sleep in the deck house. There will be a Crew cabin forward with shower and WC. The Living area will comprise of a saloon, galley and general seating area

The 83ft sailing yacht will comply to the RINA Rules for the Classification of Pleasure Yachts, and the MCA Code of Practice for Small Commercial Vessels and Pilot Boats

The superyacht is scheduled for completion in May 2011.

Khaya hull shell planking (four layers) over laminated Sapele ring frames and backbone.
Plywood deck with Teak overlay.
Teak deck joinery.

Main engine – Cummins MerCruiser Diesel, QSB5.9-305, 224 kW (300 bhp) at 2600 rpm
Gearbox – ZF 85A
Generator – Cummins Onan 22.5MDKBT, 22.5kVA

Rig

Spars – Formula Marine, aluminium

Accommodation 

The yacht provides the following air conditioned accommodation:
Owners suite with shower and WC
Two guest cabins aft with shared shower and WC
Crew cabin forward with shower and WC
Living area comprising saloon, galley and general seating area.
Deck house with nav/coms area and provision for two additional berths.
