A highlight of the show will be the regional debut of three Silvercraft yacht models including the Silvercraft  34, 36 HT and 38 CC.

According to Erwin Bamps, Chief Operating Officer Gulf Craft, interest in small pleasure cruisers and family fishing boats in the South East Asian market continues to swell.

“PIMEX is a very important platform for the showcase of new models for the South East Asian region as the show brings together serious clients from across Thailand as well as Malaysia, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. The South East Asian boating market continues to be driven by demand for smaller pleasure cruisers and family fishing boats and our new Silvercraft models answer a desire for both form and function – with spacious yet stylish layouts,” said Bamps.

Tony Nixey, owner and managing director of Go Boating Thailand Co Ltd – distributor of Gulf Craft’s range of boats and yachts in Thailand, added, “We have been exhibiting Gulf Craft products at PIMEX every year and although competition is huge, we are one of the six main players in Thailand, where the PIMEX event helps us to maintain our strong presence in the market.”

He added that the market is starting to mature as seasoned seafarers begin to upgrade their vessels in terms of size and comfort. “In addition to being home to some of the best cruising grounds in the world, Phuket has now firmly established itself on the superyacht cruising map and this has helped attract more and larger vessels to the region. With PIMEX taking place this month and two shows in Singapore next month, the boat show season has definitely arrived in South East Asia and it’s buzzing with boating activity,” Nixey added.

Gulf Craft has had a long and strong presence in South East Asian waters extending back to 1992. Since 2005, the company has seen healthy sales across its range of Oryx sport cruisers, Silvercraft fishing and family boats and Majesty Yachts. Gulf Craft has in recent years also witnessed growing interest in its premium yacht brand Majesty Yachts with superyacht Majesty 88 and Majesty 56 yacht particularly being in the spotlight.
