MY CAPRI CREW PROFILES

 

CAPTAIN: TIM JACQUES

Having grown up in the South West of England, Captain Tim Jacques enjoyed a successful career in London as Project Manager for several multinational companies. After volunteering for service in the British Army as an officer, Tim learned to sail yachts which soon became a passion. Captain Tim Jacques joins MY Capri having worked on a variety of super yachts, including MY Pegasus II and MY Ocean Victory, two of the industry’s most exacting charter yachts. Captain Tim has extensive experience navigating with both the owners and guests in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He commands a strong and professional crew and knows what is demanded and expected as a charter captain. Tim is looking forward to a phenomenal charter season here on MY Capri.

 

CHIEF OFFICER: WILL BAGSHAW

Will comes from a farming family in the South West of Australia. He spent five years working with the world renowned Australian ship builders, OCEANFAST, before answering his call to the sea. Since then Will has worked on yachts and visited places from the Seychelles, Egypt, and Israel all the way to the Caribbean. Will is also an avid fisherman and enjoys martial arts and just about all water based activities. In 2009 Will gained his Master 3000 ticket and is honing his skills in the hope of becoming a Captain in the near future.

 

CHIEF STEWARDESS: SASCHA ANDERSON

Born on the west coast of British Columbia Sascha Anderson fell in love with the ocean from a small age. She grew up on a small island located between Vancouver and Vancouver Island called Saltspring. Never having lived further than a half hour drive from the shore line she decided you can’t get much closer than living and working on a yacht and her love for the sea and travel drew her closer to the yachting industry. Her love for working closely with people and providing an exceptional level of service gives her the drive to continue on in the industry. Growing up boating with friends in the summer time, she loves the outdoors, swimming, water sports, hiking and snowboarding in the winters. She also loves to dance, photography, write, arts and crafts and to cook. She also holds an open water PADI diving certificate and has a passion for diving.

 

SECOND STEWARDESS: KATIE FABIAN

Katie is from the sailing town of Lymington on the South Coast of England. She grew up close to the sea and spent her childhood sailing and riding horses, competing professionally in showjumping. She had a long and successful career as a Jewellery Retail Manager/Buyer prior to joining the Superyacht industry in 2008. Katie is the longest standing crew member on Capri, having been on the yacht for over a year. She is totally dedicated to working aboard and always strives to provide an exceptional service to guests. Katie has a happy and intelligent disposition and looks forward to welcoming you aboard.

 

HEAD CHEF: JONATHAN MACDONALD

Jonathan Macdonald, started cooking from an early age in London and has been working on some of the most discerning super yachts for seven years. Jonathan joins us from MY Pegaso, a 75m Motor Yacht and has also worked in several Michelin Star Restaurants, including Vue de Monde, Melbourne. He is passionate about his chosen industry and is looking forward to being a key part to MY Capri. He is keen to demonstrate his cooking ability by providing balanced, varied, healthy, nutritious food for guests and is able to satisfy even the most discerning of palate.

 

SOUS CHEF: KERI TIPLER

Keri Tipler, has a passion for food and is keen to continue learning from other experienced Chefs. She has worked in high profile catering and started her yachting career last season. She is excited to be aboard MY Capri and advance her culinary skills with Head Chef, Jonathan Macdonald.

 

SECOND OFFICER: MATT SCHEEFFER

Matt is from the Netherlands where he grew up sailing yachts. At the age of 23 he moved to Australia where he embarked on a career in finance. Matt has been in yachting for 5 years and he joins as Second Officer from M/Y Pegasus. He enjoys sailing and travel. Matt looks forward to welcoming you aboard M/Y Capri.

 

BOSUN: PETER RACKEMANN

Peter grew up in Australia on the Gold Coast, his favorite surfing spot. From a young age Peter was involved in the local surf lifesaving club and enjoyed sailing in his spare time. He studied personal training and Education, with a Teaching Degree from University of Gold Coast. He left teaching to come and work on superyachts over three years ago, and is still hard at work, moving up the ranks rather quickly. He also owned his own business fixing jetskis and educating clients on safety and basic operations. Peter’s hobbies include, keeping fit and playing the guitar.

 

DECKHAND: BRADLEY CANNON

Bradley comes from Durban, South Africa and has been on Capri for 11 months. Having grown up next the sea, Bradley enjoys the outdoors and sports having played rugby and waterpolo. Bradley previously studied both an Undergraduate and Post-Graduate degree in Finance and Economics.

 

DECKHAND: NAZEER BHYAT

Nazeerhas been in the yachting industry for three years. He enjoys all the duties that being a deckhand requires: Watchkeeping, water sports, driving the tender and guest water activities. He has been on passages and crossings between Europe, the Caribbean and the United States. Before joining yachting three years ago he managed a store for the surf brand Rip Curl.In his spare time he enjoys surfing, traveling and any water sport.

 

STEWARDESS: OLIVIA BAZELL

Olivia grew up in the countryside just south east of London. She could ride before she could walk and has competed from an early age in show jumping. Though horses’ being her main passion, Olivia has also found time to satisfy her desire to travel, previously living in Austria as an au pair in 2011 and most recently living in Ibiza before discovering the world of yachting and joining yacht Capri, embarking on another adventure. Her other interests include skiing, learning about different cultures and water sports.

 

STEWARDESS: IZZY PEARSON

Izzy grew up in Auckland New Zealand. From a very young age she developed a love for the outdoors and all related activities. Izzy is an animal enthusiast, horse rider and a member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Izzy holds a Sculpture and Jewellery degree from the Auckland University of Technology. Her many interests include competing in beauty pageants (she was in the final five contestants for Miss Universe New Zealand), outdoor trekking, camping and all things associated with the 1950's (she was employed at one time as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator).

 

CHIEF ENGINEER: MICHAEL GEAR

Having enjoyed being part of the team overseeing the successful build and commission of M.Y. Steel, I am now looking for a new and equally challenging yacht as either a rotational or build engineer. I have an easy going and relaxed manner and am able to communicate and manage successfully at most levels keeping a vision of the bigger picture in mind and the principle goals to be achieved. Hobbies include keeping fit together with Rowing, Rugby, Fishing, Diving, Fx trading, Property

 

2ND ENGINEER: ANTOINE BUCKART

Antoine, was born in France in 1986, and lived there until he was 18. He joined the merchant navy academy of Marseille and graduated in 2008 as deck & engine Officer. He then moved onto container ships working as an engineer. He joined yachting in 2010, on a 38m yacht. Antoine aims to please and here to ensure all runs smoothly regarding the engineering department.

 

CHIEF ENGINEER: ROTATIONAL/MICHAEL HUMMEL

During his childhood, Michael enjoyed sailing in the Baltic Sea and racing 125 cc motorbikes. After completing school, he began training as a chef in Germany where he soon learnt he’d rather eat food than cook it! So he went on to study to become a mechanical engineer and worked as a project engineer in machinery construction all over the world. Michael has a passion for learning languages and makes frequent use of them on his travels. Later, he discovered the yachting industry, and besides achieving his marine engineering licenses, he also worked as Captain on 30m yachts after obtaining a Master 200 GT certification. Michael enjoys working in yachting as he feels it’s an occupation where no day is alike another. During his off-rotation time, he lives in Norway with his two young children, enjoying the countryside, skiing, wildlife, hunting, sailing, cycling and farming.
