Superyacht ATHOS

Sailing yacht ATHOS, the world’s largest privately owned two masted schooner has been launched by Holland_Jachtbouw (HJB). The Superyacht ATHOS measures 62m overall and her main mast is the longest built by Rondal or anyone else in Holland. The main mast, the 15m fore boom and 23.5m main boom, are made of carbon fibre.

The Superyacht ATHOS’s 400 tonne hull was too heavy to lift with a crane, so the wheels of a giant trailer were carefully inserted under the cradle and the entire structure was guided on to a pontoon. A huge barge then towed the precious cargo, sailing yacht ATHOS on a two-day journey from the yard in Zaandam, near Amsterdam to the northern Dutch port of Harlingen. It was in Harlington that the megayacht ATHOS was placed into the water for the first time thanks to a massive 2000-tonne lift.

The largest privately owned double master schooner ATHOS was then towed on her own keel back to the Holland Jachtbouw (HJB) yard, where they will begin stepping S/Y ATHOS’s extraordinary rig.

The 2 masted megayacht will accommodate up to 10 guests in an owner’s cabin and four luxurious guest cabins.  Designed by the well renowned Andre_Hoek, the luxury yacht ATHOS is a technical and aesthetic marvel in every respect.

Sea trials of the breathtaking superyacht ATHOS will begin shortly.
