For the 145m Fortissimo motor yacht concept, Fincantieri Yachts’ decided to put aside the worldwide financial crisis for a while, together with any self-imposed limitation. They wanted to play with speed, made possible by the knowhow developed by Fincantieri in building fast vessels. One such fast vessel is the Blue Ribbon Winner, 68m motor yacht Destriero, built in 1991 by Fincantieri Yachts which lead to the construction of many fast ferries over 140m in length.

The superyacht Fortissimo concept features a modern and futuristic design by Ken Freivokh to match the spirit of the project. The result of the collaboration between Ken Freivokh Design and Fincantieri yachts is an astonishing 145m Yacht, capable of over 35 knots.

Ken Freivokh explains further details of the superyacht concept Fortissimo. “Fortissimo is a super yacht designed with total flexibility in mind. Essential parts of the superstructure rely on a tremendously rigid spaceframe system which allows large span openings without the need for fashion plates which would prevent full panoramic views.

The design concept acknowledges the tremendous power of the turbine installation, and integrates such powerplant as an integral part of the total design. The accommodation remains generous for such a sleek yacht, whilst the owners can enjoy travelling at high speed to reach their destination unusually quickly”.

Fincantieri Yachts believe that client’s dreams are an essential propeller for Yachting Industry and they want their clients to keep on dreaming more and more. It was for this reason that they asked Andrew Winch to produce the Virage 88 motor yacht and Ken Freivokh to design the Fortissimo yacht, to illustrate the range of possibilities of Fincantieri Yachts from 70m to over 160m.
