Cassis Yacht Charter

Considered the westernmost point of the French Riviera, a Cassis yacht charter holiday and the adjacent Parc National des Calanques are often included in a South of France luxury yacht charter, both for the beautiful scenery and peace and quiet at the height of the summer season.

The numerous sheltered inlets called calanques are perfect anchorages for an evening surrounded by stunning natural rock formations, crystal blue water and luscious forests home to a variety of native birds. The deep calanques allow for younger members of the group to learn how to use the water toys in a sheltered environment without the worry of strong currents; snorkel in lagoons, fish and kayak spending quality family time together.

Find your own secluded sandy beach accessible only by boat and settle in for an afternoon of sunbathing and adventure with the water toys, then dine on your deserted beach as you watch the stars appear in unpolluted skies.

Scuba divers will be spoiled for choice when it comes to dive-site diversity, particularly around Calanque d'En-Vau. Beginners can earn their diving licence encountering a variety of fish and corals, while more experienced divers can test their skills with numerous cave dives such as Résurgence de Port-Miou or La Grotte à Corail de Cassis.

As an additional benefit, Cassis is located between the cultural cities of Marseilles and Toulon so superyacht charterers won't have to cruise far to enjoy a fun day of activities with high end shopping, authentic French restaurants and vibrant nightlife.

Marinas in the area tend to be smaller yet plentiful in number and Calanque de Port-Miou and Vallat Des Brayes marinas are ideal for facilities near the town of Cassis. As an alternative, La Ciotat Port remains close to the national park and provides berthing facilities for mega yachts.

Season & Weather:

The weather in Cassis and the surrounding national park is wonderfully warm from May until the start of October, and visitors will enjoy average temperatures of 25°C/77°F during the summer months with a cooler 16°C/61°F in spring and autumn. The months of May through to September provide the most daylight hours (10-12), peaking in July at 12 hours. May to August are the driest months most suited to a superyacht charter, while September through to November is the wettest season.

Sea temperatures throughout the year remain stable around 14°C/57°F in winter and a maximum of 24°/75°F in summer for a warm and refreshing swim.
