EXPLORER YACHT B.YOND 37M BY BENETTI REVIEWED

A striking 37m (120') superyacht model B.YOND was created by the renowned Italian shipyard Benetti and launched in 2019 at the Monaco Yacht Show. Spanning four magnificent decks, this vessel is a true masterpiece of Italian design, designed for exploration and adventure-filled cruising around the world. Six beautifully-appointed staterooms provide overnight stay and a private retreat for up to twelve guests on board, with additional accommodation for a crew of seven.

Interiors

When Benetti designed the B.YOND series of explorer yachts, they used Owner input to create a highly desirable vessel that ensures that no space is wasted on board. Despite being only 37m/121ft the first model in the series has a volume of 500 GT - the equivalent of a 50m/164ft motor yacht - all furnished with the finest quality wood, metal, fabric and leather varieties.

The shipyard in-house teams produced her interior styling, which combines pale furnishings and light wood varieties with slate greys for contrast.

The decks are separated according to function, placing all of the crew accommodation and crew amenities on the lower deck. The main deck is dedicated to the Owner and guest accommodation, providing for up to 10 guests in five en-suite cabins - A Master suite, two VIP staterooms and two twin cabins. The flexible layout allows for fold-down terraces off the forward Master suite and the two VIP staterooms aft, and all have access to the tender garage which doubles as a gym with its own fold-down terrace.

The upper deck is where the social hub and used full-height windows to break down the barriers between the interior and exterior worlds. The glamorous forward formal dining area benefits from panoramic views and an abundance of daylight, the same as the aft salon where guests can curl up with a good book, chat about their latest finds in the local markets, watch a film or play a board game together. Another variation of the lounge is available from the shipyard for a drinks/games table and wet bar instead of armchairs.

Although the bridge deck guest area can be entirely outdoors, Owners can instead choose to have a winter garden as a second lounge. This is an ideal choice for multi-generational families who want the space to work on separate interests, and for wetter climes.

Exteriors

The indoors spills outside with the abundance of lounging and sunbathing areas covering four decks. While at anchor, the group can rest close to the water on the plush shaded beach club sofas, or step out into the sunshine on the fold-down swim platform to watch the marine life or nap in the sunshine.

For welcoming visitors on board and sunny days when everyone wants to be close to the water, the beach club makes a great impression: The fold down transom door forms a large swim platform and open up the beach club to reveal the sumptuous sofas within. This lounge setting can be extended outwards, and the underwater lighting enhances the ambiance of a gathering after dark.

The layout is designed for convenience and efficiency, and the beach club give access to the main deck aft via a concealed internal staircase.

The upper deck is an extension of the interior social hub and is easily accessed via the signature staircase from the main deck aft, or through the skylounge. An alfresco dining table offers an easy and elegant option to gather the whole family together for celebrating a special occasion by candlelight, and the drinks and conversation can continue around the two seating areas aft. The foredeck is covered in seating and has a forward sunbed as an equally desirable place to chat or even snooze after a large meal.

The bridge deck provides a shaded section for couples to converse over drinks, and the aft has a Jacuzzi offset to the port side and a spread of sunbeds for days relishing the sunshine.

Up on the sundeck, the serene environment is furnished with an alfresco dining area amidships to serve all guests, a wet bar and barbeque grill opposite, and sun loungers aft. The forward section has been left clear for guests to use as they wish, and the space is perfect for exercise in the fresh air, star gazing or whale watching.

Ready for remote adventures

Explorer yacht B.YOND has an extensive cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles and is built with storage for a wide array of water toys and tenders so that guests on board have everything they need to get up close to beautiful cliffs and coral reefs.

The propulsion technology was designed for Benetti by Siemens, and provides comfortable cruising with a reduced environmental impact when in E-Mode.

In conclusion, the B.YOND 37M expedition yacht is a superb and versatile model with customisation options for Owners to personalise for their own needs. Her long range and cutting-edge hybrid technology will future-proof her for a kinder, more environmentally friendly future on the waves.
