EXTERIOR

A sailing vessel designed specifically for the Arctic waters and featuring simple, manual systems which can be easily maintained in distant locations by the crew.

A swing-keel allows this vessel access to sheltered hideaways that larger vessels cannot reach, including full dry out. Mast steps lead aloft to a secure “ice lookout” perch at the first spreaders. Eight solar panels charge many operations on board, augmenting the low-carbon, wind-power approach.

The open cockpit leads to a step-down transom that offers water-level entry, T-ladder, and hot shower and facilities to maintain SCUBA equipment.

INTERIOR

Fully insulated. Lots of windows, with 360-degree visibility in the pilothouse. A large and well-provisioned galley supports a range of fresh food and hearty meals to be enjoyed around the dining settee, located in the pilothouse.
A light-filled and spacious galley boasts a cosy adjacent reading “nook” for 1 or 2 people to warm up next to the Refleks stove.

The most satisfied ArcticEarth customers are those who enjoy hands-on sailing, navigating & piloting, cooking, and wilderness shore hiking -with a desire to improve their own skills. Sustainably scaled and wind-powered, this vessel offers a low-carbon alternative. Guests wishing to fully enjoy their expedition while keeping a low profile will appreciate the quiet visits to smaller villages, well-known by the crew. This allows for more authentic cultural engagement than possible with larger boats/crews. ArcticEarth is the perfect choice for guests who wish to be part of a team with an exploratory mission, be it young, active families or certain kinds of mission-oriented young-at-heart. Because the vessel is often used by researchers and filmmakers -and exclusively in the Arctic- there is significant onboard resource about the fast-changing Arctic and its connection to the rest of the planet. Be part of the story!
