Historic 24m/80ft motor yacht THE UNION JACK was launched in 1941 following three years of construction by McKenzie Barge & Derrick Co. Ltd in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, BC. From 1941 until 1945 she assisted in the war effort and was used as a tugboat by the Union Towing Co. In the 1950s and 60s, she was owned and operated by Straits Towing & Salvage Co. Ltd. in Victoria BC under the name BURNABY STRAIGHTS, and it was during this time that her trademark Union Diesel engine was installed. In the 80s she was bought by West Wind Charter Ltd. and pulled barges up and down the Fraser River under her original name. From 2014 onwards, M/Y THE UNION JACK has been lovingly restored by Remote West Coast Adventures, who have transformed her to provide guests with an authentic 1940s interior combined with the latest technology for comfort and entertainment. The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests over six cabins, two of which have en-suite facilities.
