Sailing yacht Scame is a classic wooden cutter built in 1971 at the renowned Sangermani boat yard in Italy. She was originally built as a maxi cruiser racer for racing. She has beautiful teak decks and the lines of this classic yacht are a total delight. Scame is based in South East Asia and can accommodate up to 6 guests and is particularly suited to clients wishing to participate in watersports such as surfing, with a 'Surf Safari' option being available.
Since 1980, Sailing yacht Scame has been sailing around the world without homeport, making more than three circumnavigations of the globe. Visiting countless exotic destinations, such as the Mediterranean, Greece and the Galapagos, Madagascar, Tahiti and New Caledonia, this timeless 72-foot yachts is currently sailing in Southeast Asian waters. Based in West Sumatra from March to October, and around Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand in other months. Scame is fast and comfortable and has a warm and friendly crew.
Originally from France, Daniel Ballian and his wife Janine are master sailors and the owners of Scame. Janine, who is from a "Pineapple Republic," is an exquisite international cook, specializing in spicy exotic food and fresh fish. Her meals are imaginative and delicious. Philipe, the third crew member is also from France, and has been with Scame for over 6 years. Philipe is an avid surfer, with experience in the Mentawais, the Andaman Islands, and elsewhere.
The crew of Scame are fun-loving, informal, attentive and exceptionally skilled. There is a relaxed family atmosphere.
Sailing yacht Scame is available for various Regatta’s in the Andaman Sea including the Puravarna Phang Nga Bay Regatta, Phuket King's Cup Regatta and the Raja Muda Selangor Regatta.
The Phuket King's Cup Regatta is Asia's biggest and most popular regatta. More than a regatta, the weeklong event consists of great parties, great sailing and lots of fun. Inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand, the event has been held every year since during the first week of December
Established in 1990, the Raja Muda Selangor Regatta is Malaysia's oldest keelboat sailing regatta and one of the region's premier events, ranking alongside Thailand's Phuket King's Cup and Hong Kong's China Coast Regatta and China Sea Race.
