Sailing yacht Q (Ex Mondango 2) is a 52 m (170 ft) luxury yacht that was built by Alloy Yachts in 2008. Yacht Q was the fifth yacht over 50 meters in length built by Alloy Yachts of New Zealand and was specifically designed to perform long voyages. The impressive superyacht features naval architecture by Dubois Naval Architects with key involvement by her dedicated owners.

The luxury sailing yacht Q’s interior was designed by Reymond Langton and exudes a colourful contemporary Asian style with a combination of light oak panelling and dark brown leather trims, glass panel artworks, Inuit Sculptures and flooring cut in a unique radial design with wool and silk carpets.

Superyacht Q boasts a majestic blue hull with a Matterhorn white superstructure. Yacht Q extends further aft than the other Alloy and Dubois yachts, creating a large curved cockpit area and side windows which can be opened or closed providing climate control.

The Q sailing yacht is able to accommodate up to 10 guests on board and has a total of 9 crew members. Guests are accommodated in 5 cabins located on the lower deck including a full beam Owners stateroom with a unique vanity carved from rare pink onyx and a Japanese-style toilet that can be completely controlled by a remote, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. All the guest staterooms are themed in distinctive colours with the throws, cushions and bed covers designed in London to coordinate specifically with each atmosphere.

The high performance aluminium ketch Q has been built to Lloyds Classification and complies with the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY2. S/Y Q boasts carbon fibre masts by Marten Spars of New Zealand which hold fully battened in-boom furling. The yacht’s sails are by North sails and there are 18 captive and 8 vertical winches.

The ketch Q’s main auxiliary engine is a 3412D 1200hp Caterpillar giving a range of 7.200nm at 10 knots. She also boasts two 90kw Northern Lights generators and two water makers supplying up to 16000 liters per day. Her SeaTouch system has six touch screen monitors to indicate systems and alarm status. Her CCTV operates with four cameras located throughout the yacht.

Yacht Accommodation

Yacht Q is able to accommodate up to 10 guests on board in 5 luxurious cabins located on the lower deck. The master cabin features an Inuit sculpture in Serpentine stone by Niviaqsi and a unique glassblown/metal piece named the ‘Tear Drop Vessel’ by Australian artist Brian Hirst. The master cabin en-suite features a carved one piece vanity in rare pink onyx with a hammered stainless steel sink and a Japanese-style toilet combining both bidet and toilet functions. In addition to the Master cabin there are two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Each cabin is themed in distinctive colours and boasts throws, cushions and bed covers designed in London to coordinate specifically with each atmosphere. The guest lobby is spacious and boasts a beautiful glass panel, designed and crafted by London artist Julia and a unique interwoven leather and metal clad mirror. The day head leading from the lobby is adorned in green onyx and also boasts a Japanese-style toilet.
