Dufour 385 bareboat - Mediterranean bareboat yacht charter

Yacht Charter Description

The new Dufour 385 bareboat sailing yacht is based on the Mediterranean French Riviera. She has been designed particularly with ocean sailing and family cruising in mind. Comfort and safety were therefore the number one considerations that went into the design of the 385 and she therefore makes a wonderful charter yacht. The hull of the DUFOUR 385 was designed by UMBERTO FELCI. It is streamline yet very stable when sailing. The main beam has been extended aft to give excellent stiffness under sail as well as more room below.

The deck and cockpit layout is ideal for those who love to experience the feel of the open sea and is also great with its size and comfort for family cruising. The twin helm positions make for excellent movement and flow within the busy cockpit area whilst allowing great vantage points for helming and maneuvering under sail or motor. The charter yachts coach roof is equipped with long hand rails which enable movement to the fore deck in complete safety. The Dufours 385s interior can be described as roomy yet harmonious and balanced. Everything has been cleverly devised by Dufour, after many years experience, to make life on board easy: stowage, fiddles, handrails.

Here are some great independent reviews of the 385 charter boat:

She's broad and rounded but she's no blunt instrument. This boat may well be aimed at the cruising market but she was nevertheless rewardingly sharp, with a good balance between easy handling and speed. The extra space that has been created below seems, from the viewpoint of a cruising owner, to have been cheaply won since the reduction in performance is only slight. She is not the cheapest boat in her class but she does have a feeling of substance and a level of finish that probably justifies the price difference - and twin-wheel systems are not cheap.....
We think she deserves to be a popular mid-range cruiser. Yachting Monthly July 2004 yachtingmontly.com
