Sailing Regattas & Events on St Barts

These yachting events include the St. Barth Regatta (celebrated just before Lent), the Saint Barth's Cup (held in April and sponsored by the Saint Barth Yacht Club) as well as the three-day International Regatta in May with racing events.

The St Barths Bucket Regatta is of particular note and is held in early April or late March. The St Barths Bucket Regatta is a gentlemanly yacht race for luxury yachts over 100 feet in length. The race was conceived many years ago by wealthy yachtsmen, Tom Taylor and Abner Doubleday, and has flourished to over 26 entries in 2005. 2006 & 2007 saw even more entries with 2008, 2009 and 2010 expected to continue growth. The race is a rare chance for larger yachts, both private and charter, to gather together and parade around a beautiful race course in a good natured and friendly test of speed and skills. Sailing superyachts racing together makes the St Barths Bucket Regatta an amazing spectacle indeed.

Beaches

St Barthélemy is also known as St Barts. It is an overseas collectivity of France and it is located in the Caribbean. This collective of beautiful Caribbean islands is part of the Leeward Islands in northeast Caribbean comprising the French West Indies, along with St. Martin and Guedeloupe. The island of Saint Barthélemy lies 35 kms southeast of St. Martin. The island is volcanic in origin and it has many shallow reefs that you can explore.
