SCOPRIOS YACHT REVIEW

Luxury 52m sailing yacht SCORPIOS

Custom-built motor-sailing yacht SCORPIOS represents a new era of luxury yachts built especially for the luxury charter market in Croatia and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Privately owned and operated by an experienced Croatian yachtsman, the crew of 52m (170'7") sailing yacht SCORPIOS are committed to offering first-class charter vacations … and that is exactly what is on offer.
Luxury, innovation and excellence

Delivered in 2023, the yacht is in impeccable condition and is clearly maintained with pride by owner Antonio Ivanisevic. She has been custom built by Radez to a design by naval architect Vinko Strizic from ProMar Design and interior designer Natasha Orlovic of NO.MAD Design. Combining classic and contemporary design, she has been created with guest experience in mind and represents a benchmark of timeless nautical luxury.

Let’s begin with her sleek, black hull shaped with an inverted bow and towering masts which will doubtless turn heads wherever she goes. Her sailing capability is enhanced by twin Baudouin 700HP engines which deliver top speeds of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
The flybridge is beautifully designed and zoned to create distinct spaces for dining, sunbathing or enjoying a cooling drink either at the main bar or at the circular sit-up bar which surrounds the fabulous jacuzzi. The main deck aft creates a sociable, al fresco dining space, sheltered by the flybridge overhang and lit by sophisticated lighting after dark. Aft is an open lounge area from where guests can take in the views over the swim platform where large transom doors hide another surprise – an intimate lounge area, perfect for a morning coffee or relaxing at the water’s edge.

The main salon is decorated with herringbone flooring, neutral contemporary soft furnishings and huge windows which make the space a haven away from the sun, but certainly not from the light. A small open lobby leads into the bar and lounge space, while the more formal 12-seater dining setting fills the forward area of the salon. A fold-out balcony to port offers a lovely peaceful spot overhanging the water.

Few motor-sailing yachts have such superior staterooms which are designed with a muted palette of soft grey, warm wood and accents of subtle blue. The ensuite bathrooms blend perfectly into the suites and cleverly echo the colour scheme with the master ensuite boasting a full bathtub. The suites are configured as one full beam master aft, a full beam VIP in the bow and four convertibles (double to twin).

She also comes equipped with brand-new tender and water toys including Seadoo jetskis, Seabobs, waterskis, inflatables and fishing and snorkelling gear.

A first-hand review from the CharterWorld team

Having spent a week on board, a member of the CharterWorld team was hugely impressed with both the yacht and especially the crew. He had this to say,

“SCORPIOS was an excellent charter experience in more ways than one … let’s start with the crew: “The chief stew was reassuring and polished and her knowledge of Croatian wines and how to pair them made us feel like we had toured wineries in the region. Service and table presentation was imaginative and the interior team’s attentiveness to guests was unfailingly good. The chef prepared meals that were refined and tasty and it was clear preferences had been read, understood and respected.
“The captain was confident and capable, so much so that his expert manoeuvres were the talk of every port we pulled into. The rest of the deck crew were discrete and quick to prepare the water toys for guests and were on hand to guide and advise.

“I’m considering imposing myself as an Obligatory Extra on the next charter proposal I send for SCORPIOS!”

A final message from the owner:

“We were determined to bring even more innovation to the design and create an unparalleled yachting experience.”

Having grown up by the sea, Antonio and the team operate with a philosophy of sustainability which includes a commitment to working with local farms and fishermen and to using bio-friendly products. The long-term plan is to build more eco-friendly yachts in the future incorporating hybrid engines and implementing new technologies and innovations to reduce energy consumption and waste.

Antonio is truly passionate about travel within his home country of Croatia and describes the completion of SCOPRIOS as an “opportunity to create jobs for locals, give back to the community, and proudly show guests our country.”

Sailing yacht SCORPIOS is offered for charter around Croatia.
