A enormous training boat SOREN LARSEN is a very distinctive Denmark made superyacht which was launched to celebration in 1949. The yacht is a classic training boat.
The Soren Larsen was built in northern Denmark in by Soren Larsen & Sons at Nykobing Mors and is constructed entirely of oak. She traded throughout the Baltic, British and European ports until 1972. In 1978 she was restored, the funds for which came from film work she was involved in, including The Onedin Line series, The French Lieutenants Woman, Count of Monte Cristo and Shackleton - which involved sailing north to the Arctic Circle into the pack-ice of Greenland. Since then the Soren Larsen has won Transatlantic Tallship Races, undergone refits, undertaken a world voyages and is now based in New Zealand from where she explores the tropical waters of the South Pacific while she offers sail training courses.
