A Summary of Sailing Yacht PHOCEA
The sailing yacht PHOCEA is a 75 m 247 (ft) lengthy steel vessel which was fashioned by Dcan Arsenal De Toulon and devised by Michel Bigoin and Butch Dalrymple-Smith and Tim Heywood. Accommodating 12 guests and 14 professional crew, sailing yacht PHOCEA was registered as Club Mediterranee; La Vie Claire. The firm of naval architecture responsible for this yacht's plans and general arrangement in respect of the yacht was Michel Bigoin and Butch Dalrymple-Smith and Tim Heywood. Moreover, her interior designing was created by Jorg Beiderbeck / Tim Heywood.
PHOCEA is a striking 1976 Classic Yacht. For close to 30 years, PHOCEA was the largest sailing yacht in the world prior to the launch of ATHENA in 2004. PHOCEA underwent her most recent refit in 2006 after running aground in Sardinia in 2005.
The Building & Design of Luxury Yacht PHOCEA
Michel Bigoin was the naval architect involved in the professional superyacht plans for PHOCEA. Her interior design was completed by Jorg Beiderbeck / Tim Heywood. Michel Bigoin and Butch Dalrymple-Smith and Tim Heywood is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this yacht. Built at Dcan Arsenal De Toulon the vessel was completed in the recognised yachting country France. She was successfully launched in Toulon in 1976 before being delivered to the owner. The core hull was built out of steel. The sailing yacht superstructure component is fabricated largely with aluminium. With a width of 9.57 metres / 31.4 feet PHOCEA has fairly large room. A fairly 6.13 (20.1 ft) draught of 6.13m (20.1ft) selects the amount of worldwide ports she can enter into, depending on their specific characteristics. She had refit improvement and modification carried out in 2008.

Powered by a single MTU diesel main engines, PHOCEA can attain a high speed of 14 knots. Her propulsion units are a single screw propeller. Concerning bow thruster maneuverability she uses Schottel.
