A General Description of Sailing Yacht MONDANGO

This 52 m (170 ft) luxury yacht was produced by Alloy Yachts in 2008. Sailing Yacht MONDANGO is a impressive superyacht. The naval architecture office which delivered her design work with respect to the yacht was Dubois Naval Architects. The interior was the brain child of Reymond Langton Design. Luxury yacht MONDANGO is a well crafted yacht that can sleep up to 10 guests on board and has a total of 10 crew members.

Sailing yacht Mondango is the fifth yacht over 50 meters in length built by Alloy Yachts of New Zealand. She was meticulously designed by Dubois Naval Architects with key involvement by her dedicated owners. The high performance aluminium ketch has been built to Lloyds Classification and complies with the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY2. The sailing yachts hull is a majestic blue with a Matterhorn white superstructure. Alloy Yachts who built MONDANGO also created Sailing yacht Salperton (2002) Squall (2002) and S/Y Tiara which was launched 2004 however, Mondango extends further aft than the other Alloy and Dubois yachts, creating a large curved cockpit area and side windows which can be opened or closed providing climate control. S/Y Mondango boasts carbon fibre masts by Marten Spars of New Zealand which hold fully battened in-boom furling. The yacht’s sails are by North sails and there are 18 captive and 8 vertical winches. Mondango’s main auxiliary engine is a 3412D 1200hp Caterpillar giving a range of 7.200nm at 10 knots. She also boasts two 90kw Northern Lights generators and two water makers supplying up to 16000 liters per day. Her SeaTouch system has six touch screen monitors to indicate systems and alarm status. Her CCTV operates with four cameras located throughout the yacht. Mondango can accommodate 10 guests in her Reymond Langton styled interior. The cabins on the lower deck comprise of a full beam Owners stateroom, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Showboats International Award for “Best Sailing Yacht over 45metres” was awarded to SY MONDANGO.

The Construction & Designing of Luxury Yacht MONDANGO

Dubois Naval Architects was the naval architect involved in the professional vessel plans for MONDANGO. Also the company Dubois Naval Architects skillfully worked on this project. Interior designer Reymond Langton Design was employed for the overall internal styling. In 2008 she was actually launched with celebration in Auckland and following sea trials and finishing touches was thereafter passed on to the new owner. Alloy Yachts completed their new build sailing yacht in New Zealand. Her core hull was crafted from aluminium. The sailing yacht main superstructure is made mostly with aluminium. With a beam of 10.2 m or 33.5 ft MONDANGO has spacious interior. A deep draught of 4.9m (16.1ft) selects the amount of harbours she can enter, depending on their specific characteristics.
