This sailing yacht ITALIA is a superyacht of impressive proportions. This 62 m (203 ft) luxury yacht was made by Ref-Werft in 1993. ITALIA used to be the project or yacht name (Tallship) Swan Fan Makkum. Superyacht ITALIA is a sumptuous yacht that is able to accommodate as many as 36 guests on board and has approximately 10 crew. The naval architecture office whom authored the design in respect of the yacht is Olivier F. Van Meer.

The yacht's general design work came from Olivier F Van Meer. The professional naval architecture drawings are the work of Olivier F Van Meer. Poland is the country that Ref-Werft built their new build sailing yacht in. After her official launch in 1993 in Gdansk the boat was handed over to the yacht owner after sea trials. A fairly large proportion is achieved with a widest beam (width) of 9.2 metres / 30.2 feet. With a 3.75m (12.3ft) draught (maximum depth) she is deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is created out of teak. Over the deck of ITALIA she is 51 (167.3 ft) in length.
