Being built by the Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries yacht builder in Japan the ANG PANGULO is 77 m 254 (ft) in length. Superyacht ANG PANGULO can accommodate up to 44 guests with 81 crew members. BRP Ang Pangulo is a presidential yacht and was acquired by the government in 1959. The yacht was first used by President Carlos P. Garcia for entertaining and over the years the yacht has know many famous guests including British ballerina Margot Fonteyn, actress Brooke Shields, dancer Rudolf Nureyev, concert pianist Van Cliburn and Cristina Ford, former wife of Henry Ford II, who was once chairman of Ford Motor Co. In 2008, the Philippines government addressed the concerns regarding overspending on government luxuries and under the rule of President Arroyo transformed this presidential yacht into a mobile medical facility.

Ishikawajima-Harima Hi was the naval architect firm involved in the formal superyacht design work for ANG PANGULO. Also the company Ishikawajima-Harima Hi successfully collaborated on this undertaking.
