This sailing yacht ANAKENA is a 40 metre 132 (foot) spacious aluminium boat which was made by Royal Huisman and devised by Ted Hood and Ted Fontaine. Finished and launched for 1996 the modern interior design reveals the traditional interpretations of owner and John Munford.

Ted Hood was the naval architect firm involved in the professional vessel plans for ANAKENA. Her interior design was completed by John Munford. Ted Hood and Ted Fontaine is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this yacht. the Netherlands is the country that Royal Huisman completed their new build sailing yacht in. After official launch in 1996 in Vollenhove she was passed over to the proud new owner having completed final finishing. The hull was crafted from aluminium. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated largely from aluminium. With a width of 8.81 m / 28.9 feet ANAKENA has fairly large internal space. She has a reasonably shallow draught of 2.7m (8.85ft). She had refit maintenance and alteration work completed by 2004.

Fitted with twin MTU diesel engines, ANAKENA can attain a high speed of 14 knots. ANAKENA is propelled by twin screw propellers. For bow thruster maneuverability she was fitted with Vosper.
