World Superyacht Awards 2015 Guests to enjoy amazing tours of some of the world’s leading shipyards

On the days leading up to the gala evening, a prominent group of the world’s top superyacht builders will provide guests of the World Superyacht Awards 2015 with a unique opportunity to enjoy tours of their shipyard facilities.

Moreover, the World Superyacht Awards Event Partners invite guests to enjoy a rich hospitality programme. This will comprise amazing lunches, classic boat tours and much more.

AMELS – Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May

On Friday, May 8, 2015 guests are invited to visit the shipyard facilities of the premier Dutch builder Amels in Vlissingen, currently hosting the mighty 83-metre mega yacht AMELS 272. This represents the largest model in the successful Limited Editions series and the largest vessel ever unveiled by Amels.

On Saturday, May 9, 2015 guests are invited by Amels to join them at the National Maritime Museum, nestled in the center of Amsterdam. Before enjoying a delicious dinner in the Van Heemskerck Chamber, guests will tour this second largest maritime museum in the world and discover the origins of luxury yachting based on Dutch innovation as well as craftsmanship that started centuries ago.

FEADSHIP – Friday 8 May

The world-renowned Dutch superyacht builder, Feadship, will provide guests with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour to watch the expert craftsmen hard at work and meet the personnel at the front line of their daily operations. A part of the tour will be a tasty lunch and a special cruise aboard the Feadship classic motor yacht Ammerland, launched in 1996.

HEESEN – Friday 8 May and Saturday 9 May

Established by Frans Heesen in Oss in 1978, Heesen Yachts was the first Dutch builder to employ aluminium alloy for the construction of yacht hulls. Since then the shipyard has become a world-renowned company specializing in the design, engineering and building of high performance, all-aluminium motor yachts. Building breath-taking superyachts measuring up to 70 metres and beyond, the company is currently working on the construction of 11 yachts, with deliveries spanning through to 2017.

ROYAL HUISMAN – Friday 2 May and Saturday 3 May

Nestled in fabulous Vollenhove, the premier Dutch superyacht builder, Royal Huisman, will also provide VIP guests of the World Superyacht Awards with an exclusive access to their yacht building facilities. Launched in 1884, the company continues under fifth generation family ownership, mixing up a passion for perfection with a commitment to technological innovation as well as improvement.

Yard tours are available only to guests of the World Superyacht Awards with a valid ticket for the gala evening. The closing date for yard tour applications is Friday 24 April, 2015.
