At UKSA Superyacht, superyacht cadetship courses are under-way. Over the next 3 years cadets, aged between 18 and 25, will embark on an intense training program designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to progress in the superyacht industry.

Developed in close consultation with the MCA and their approved training guidelines, the cadetship course combines phases of training at UKSA with paid work placements in the superyacht industry.

Emma Baggett, UKSA Cadetship Manager, said: “The primary role of UKSA Superyacht is to train and prepare yacht crew for the challenges of life at sea in the 21st century. There is no fast-track route to the top and that is why UKSA have developed a long-term plan for the development of our cadets”.

The UKSA Superyacht Training Centre is situated on the Isle of Wight, providing challenging sail training conditions with world-class shore based facilities. The latest batch of young cadets are currently preparing for their first channel crossing aboard the ex round the world ocean racer Albatross.
