Singapore Yacht Show 2013 to offer the latest, greatest and best from yachting and luxury worlds

March 12, 2013

This year’s edition of the Singapore Yacht Show is gearing up to be a must-see event, that will exhibit the latest, greatest and best that the yachting as well as luxury worlds have to offer. Whether a visitor is a novice to yachting, or has been boating all his life, there really will be something for everybody at the event.

Singapore Yacht Show 2012

Singapore Yacht Show 2012

Held on 18 – 21 April the Show is set at the ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove. These beautiful surroundings, in the heart of Singapore’s yachting hub, offer the perfect setting to enjoy the world of luxury yachting.

For those looking to explore the idea of owning a yacht, why not consider a charter on a yacht to really get a feel for what the world of superyachts entails? Charter is well established as the best introduction to yachting and as an entry point to ownership. A meeting with one of the Show’s exhibiting brokers should be one’s first point of call if he is considering charter or buying a yacht of his own.

Choosing the right type of yacht – for purchase or charter
Whether for charter or purchase, a key point of consideration is whether to go for a sailing yacht or a motoryacht. Sailing yachts are growing in numbers, but motoryachts are still the most popular option. When making a decision there are lots of points to consider: motoryachts make for a spacious entertainment platform, with plenty of speed and power, whereas sailing yachts appeal more to those looking for a purer form of yachting, with a wide range and peaceful cruising. Size is another choice, and every type of boat is catered for at the Show, whether it is a smaller day boat for coastal cruising or a superyacht.

Options for design and style are endless, and the Show offers a range of the world’s best builders and designers able to advise on the best yacht to suit one’s lifestyle. Big names like Sunseeker, one of Asia’s most popular yachting brands, will be exhibiting along with other popular builders including Princess Yachts, Westport and Palmer Johnson.

Premium Nautical is a first time exhibitor to the Singapore Yacht Show and will be able to speak with guests about the eight luxury boat brands they represent in Singapore. As with many of the exhibitors, they have diverse experience in sailing boats, catamarans, motor boats and yachts as well as brokerage services for those selling a boat in preparation for their new vessel.

The jewel in the crown’s fleet
With an impressive fleet of yachts on display at the Show there will be plenty of options for visitors to look at as food for thought. The jewel in the fleet’s crown is the spectacular 57.5m sailing yacht Twizzle, built by Dutch yard Royal Huisman in 2010. As one of the biggest yachts registered to exhibit so far, Twizzle is not to be missed and is sure to turn heads. Available for charter around Asia, she could be the perfect option for those considering charter for the first time.

Of course, there is plenty on offer for those who are well established in yachting as well. Whether one is considering a new purchase or an upgrade, or just wants to discuss the latest designs and innovations or speak with the industry’s leading players, the event should be firmly in his diary.

Partnering this yachting spectacular is a complimentary range of bespoke products including private jets, jewellery, art and high-end properties. Together they offer an unsurpassed showcase of the world of luxury.

Sanctuary Cove Boat Show 2013 to host 39 first-time exhibitors

February 26, 2013

The 25th anniversary Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) will host 39 first-time exhibitors this year. The highly anticipated event will be running from May 23 to 26.

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2010

Among the 39 exhibitors making their SCIBS debut are Arnold’s Boat Shop, Dutch Sloop and Pantaenius Australia who will be accompanied by some of the biggest names in the boating business.

Owner and managing director of the recently launched online-based Arnold’s Boat Shop Arnold le Rutte said SCIBS was a not-to-be-missed promotional opportunity in the business’ crucial inaugural year.

“We started planning the business two years ago and as part of our industry research we attended the Boat Show last year as visitors, which made us realise it was something we wanted to be a part of,” he said.

“In order for us to build awareness of our brand it’s really important that we position ourselves at the coalface of the marine industry – with SCIBS being one of the biggest boat shows in the country, we couldn’t pass it up.

“As an online-based company, this is the perfect opportunity to get in front of our clients and suppliers and network with industry stalwarts.”

As well as the new exhibitors, some of the marine industry’s biggest names have joined the SCIBS line-up, including Westport, Horizon Motor Yachts, Maritimo and Queensland Marine Centre.

SCIBS exhibition manager Harry Davis said it was an exciting time for Boat Show as a mixture of new, past and returning exhibitors continued to secure bookings.

“The pace here for organisers is picking up more and more every week and it’s great to see exhibitor bookings are gaining momentum as well,” he said.

“There’s a feeling of confidence re-emerging within the boating industry as we see exhibitors who haven’t been for a few years also returning.

“It’s encouraging to see some of the big names in the marine industry are signed up.”

“We’re urging exhibitors to sign up as soon as possible as we have a number of deadlines to meet and we want to ensure they benefit from the full SCIBS experience.”

A number of past exhibitors will be welcomed back this year including Wichard and Profurl, which has positioned itself as a world leader in marine fittings.

Wichard and Profurl director Gaelle Marks said the business was looking forward to coming back to the show with a range of new products for their exclusive traders-only client base.

“We feel the marine industry is gathering pace this year and that’s one reason why we’re returning,” she said.

“We also have new products secured which were not available in 2012 so that’s really pushed us along as well.

“We want to get out there again and really show our client base as well as potential boat owners what Wichard and Profurl have to offer and we see SCIBS as an opportunity to do that.”

Singapore Yacht Show 2013 to feature top yacht brands

February 21, 2013

With less than two months to go, the Singapore Yacht Show 2013 continues to grow at a phenomenal rate. At already twice the size of the 2012 show, more and more market top companies are signing up to attend the show, running at ONEo15 Marina Club, Sentosa Cove.

Singapore Yacht Show 2012

Singapore Yacht Show 2012

Speaking to media at the show’s partner hotel, W Singapore–Sentosa Cove today (Thursday, February 21), Andy Treadwell, Managing Director of Singapore Yacht Events, unveiled a number of the yachts and boats that visitors can expect to see at the April gathering, and revealed why he believes Singapore Yacht Show is playing a significant part in positioning Singapore as a true “Monaco of the East”.

Set to run for four full days this year, from April 18 – 21, the 2013 show will welcome the award-winning 58m sailing yacht Twizzle, designed by Ed Dubois and built by Royal Huisman in Holland, making her international boat show debut at the Singapore Yacht Show.

British builder Sunseeker will be exhibiting some of its world-leading range of production yachts for the first time, including their 40m flagship motor yacht Tanvas, built specially for an Asian client in 2010, alongside a newly-launched 20m model.

Another hugely popular British brand joining the lineup for the first time this year is Princess Yachts, part of LVMH’s luxury brand portfolio, who will be exhibiting no less than seven vessels at Singapore Yacht Show.

They join other world-renowned builders such as Riva, Fairline, Grand Banks, Hanse Yachts, Sealine, Cranchi and the stunningly innovative Wider Yachts will be on display for those looking to explore their coastline by day-boat.

At the superyacht end, Palmer Johnson, Benetti, Royal Huisman, Westport, Kingship, Azimut, Aycer Yacht and Gulf Craft will all be represented, while leading local dealers and brokers such as Simpson Marine, Luxury Yachts, Premium Nautical and SG Boating will all be participating, with many more exciting announcements to follow shortly.

Now heading into its third year, the show is achieving what it was always asked to deliver – an event with the vibrancy, quality and reputation of the world’s best marine shows, providing a genuinely meaningful marketing platform for the international industry in Singapore. It is the true gateway to the Asian market.

The organisers have added plenty of complementary lifestyle elements to the bill, too. Private aircraft manufacturer Embraer joins the list of exhibitors in the Luxury Pavilion, alongside BMW M-Cars and Lamborghini, and leading contemporary fine art galleries. International realtors iProperty, will also be presenting their showcase of regional high-end properties, and international fashion houses, live bands and a world-famous nightclub will be presenting live shows during the social events.

The Singapore Yacht Show will also this year sit alongside two business-to-business conferences held on April 16 and 17; the annual Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference, and the inaugural Singapore Private Aircraft Conference & Expo (SPACE). In addition, a forum for the international luxury industry, entitled Luxury Keynotes – Understanding Wealth in Asia, is being co-organised on Friday 19th April with event partners Robb Report magazine.

Undisputedly, the Singapore Yacht Show 2013 will be the region’s premier lifestyle event, set in a magnificent location. Conveniently held at ONE°15 Marina Club, the show lends itself perfectly to sunset cocktails and uber-stylish waterside dining at the club and at all the neighbouring bars and restaurants lining the show on Quayside Isle.

Mr Treadwell says the opening of Quayside Isle and the eagerly-anticipated W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, “really completes the visitor experience of the show, offering the perfect stopover to absorb the sights and sounds in style”.

The Singapore Yacht Show has grown to become a yachting event that rivals some of the most important boat shows in the world, thanks to the support of the local yachting and boating industry and the Show’s sponsors and partners.  In terms of the significance of the event, and the quality of its exhibitors, there is little doubt that the Singapore Yacht Show is playing a very significant part in positioning Singapore as the South East Asia business hub for the international yachting and boating industry.

Singapore Yacht Show, April 19 – 21, 2013

October 29, 2012

For the third consecutive year, the prestigious Singapore Yacht Show will be once again hosted by ONEo15 Marina, Sentosa Cove from April 19 to 21, 2012. The next year’s event is expected to welcome more superyachts, luxury boats, exclusive brands as well as high net worth individuals than ever before.

SYS-logo

The show presents an exciting opportunity for the industry to ignite new markets. The traditional bastions of superyachting, Europe and North America, are still struggling to shake off the effects of the global economic crisis, while Asia, however, continues to stride ahead.

This year’s Wealth X World Ultra Wealth Report found Asia to have more than 42, 000 ultra high net worth individuals with a total value of $6.25 trillion. Indonesia, the latest boom market in the region, experienced a wealth increase amongst UHNWIs of 41.2 per cent in the past year.

Andy Treadwell, managing director of the Singapore Yacht Show, says the event aims to treat these individuals to an experience that showcases both the best of Singapore and the luxury yachting industry.

“We partner with renowned and well-recognised brands in Asia, such as BMW M Car and Lamborghini, so high net worth visitors build associations with yachting and its lifestyle. They are the future of the yachting industry and we will continue to pique their interest,” he says.

More than just an exhibition of exclusive vessels, the Singapore Yacht Show is an important industry meeting place and a real festival; a social gathering of like-minded wealthy individuals. Over five days, some 250 key industry players will also attend the 5th Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference on April 17th and 18th, while visitors can join them for a VIP Preview Gala at the recently opened W Hotel Sentosa, a
supercar and classic car rendezvous, a fine art exhibition, and a plethora of private parties aboard multimillion dollar yachts.

As proven in 2011 and 2012, the event is a platform for the biggest names among superyacht builders – such as Feadship, Heesen, Palmer Johnson, Sanlorenzo, and Westport – to meet and impress an important gathering of very wealthy people from all over Asia.
