“After the establishment of the Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Ltd., based in Hong Kong, and the participation at Hainan Rendez-Vous and China International Boat Show in Shanghai, we are very proud to continue our intense program of participation in major Asia Pacific events unveiling at the Singapore Yacht Show, 75′ Venere Super, one of the top models of Riva, iconic brand in international yachting and symbol of Made in Italy all over the world” said Alessandro Tirelli, Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Sales Director.

75’ Venere Super yacht, latest edition of 75’ Venere, showcases innovative changes to the space and furnishings. Developed by Officina Italiana Design – the exclusive designer of all the yachts in the Riva range – in cooperation with the  team of Ferretti Group’s naval engineers and architects – have been renewed in the interiors and exteriors, with the perfection and painstaking care over detail which are typical to Riva, in order to offer greater comfort during cruising and optimize space.

The flybridge of the new 75’ Venere Super yacht has been enriched with a hard top featuring an elegant, aerodynamic line and a comfortable, six seater sofa ensuring the Owner’s total ease of use. The stern opens out onto a spacious swim platform, the best solution for free time and practicing water sports.

A large window fitted in the hull provides an unusual, very pleasant view of the surface of the water, ensuring more natural light for the guest cabins especially the full-beam Master cabin. The latter features a study area, vanity unit with foldaway pouf, LCD television and walk-in closet. Each cabin has direct access to an en-suite head, and the guest cabins have twin beds that can be pushed together to make one if necessary.

The interior furnishings of luxury yacht Riva 75′ Venere Super have also been altered and improved in the Super version, focusing on a simple, refined style. The use of bleached oak with Africa and sand coloured leather, white lacquer and new colouring of the galley and helm station make the various areas even more elegant and refined.

Removing the stairway from the salon to the flybridge has made it possible to extend the flybridge sundeck and, below deck, to create a more functional galley with new units and a side-by-side fridge-freezer.

Said removal has also made it possible to insert a mirror wall overlooking the salon, which gives this area more depth. The partition wall between the helm station and dinette, now equipped with new motorised leather Venetian blinds, plays on light and depth thanks to the use of steel details and a mirror fitted on the door. Moreover, the new colouring of the leather in the dinette, now also on the ceiling, gives the area a completely different impact to that of the previous version. Another innovation is a new hatchway that allows the easy transfer of plates and food between the galley and the more formal dining area.

As for the serving hatch, when open onto the galley it is set facing the day opening, creating a display case effect. When closed, it separates the dinette area from the galley, guaranteeing Owners and guests complete privacy.

The colour of the hull of the 75′ motor yacht Venere Super by Riva is Roman Bronze and the superstructure Riva Cream.

The standard version of the yacht features twin MTU 10V 2000 M93, power 1524 mhp, which drive her to a top speed of 31,5 knots and a cruise speed of 28 knots. The optional version features twin MTU 10V 2000 M94 power 1623 mhp, delivering a top speed of 32,5 knots and a cruise speed of 29 knots.

Ossessione Italiana is being presented from 6 to 14 April 2013, as part of the city circuits of MiArt and of the Fuorisalone events during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.

The exhibition, curated by RestartMilano, is hosted by MdP1, one of the historic buildings in Brera, a few steps from La Scala, which is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to provide, from its original function, new living spaces of the highest quality.

In “Ossessione Italiana” RestartMilano brings together a range of products and projects that follow, from the specifics of their individual histories, the same thread of a passion for quality and details “for its own sake”, one which originates from the need of expression of the individual authors, rather than from mere market positioning.

Along with some established products, there will be new projects that develop and expand the work done over the last few years. In the exhibition, RestartMilano is previewing five new items, including a system of modular bookcases and a new wall desk.

With “Ossessione Italiana” RestartMilano wanted to include his 2013 collection in a context of affinities based on the same values that guide its research.

Thus the choice to show, among others, the meticulously tailored shirts of Finollo, the rough grace of the Seppietta speedboat by Riva, the love of decor and the great manual skills of the Sicilian embroiderers, the traditional craftsmanship of Ebanisteria Ghianda, the opportunity of the New of Adriano Olivetti, the urban utopias investigated by Patrizio Di Massimo, the exclusive confectionery specialties of Babbi and the culinary excellence of Triangolo dell’Olio.

MdP1 and RestartMilano want to donate this enriching eperience to their guests through an exhibition that brings together objects related to the world of art, design, boating, fashion and superb craftsmanship.

Their boats, which come in a wide range of models, feature a patented design which marries the advantages of the space and stability of a rigid hull boat with the high-performance and safety of a rigid inflatable boat (RIB).

Supratechnic will be returning to the Show, and represents brands including Williams Jet Tenders and Waverunner jet skis. Williams’ Turbojet models combine speed and comfort to provide fun on the water: a versatile option, they can be used as standalone boats, or as a support tender for a mother vessel.

Italian luxury yacht builder CRN presents itself in Hong Kong

March 27, 2013

The prestigious Italian luxury yacht builder, CRN, part of the Ferretti Group, targets the Eastern markets with determination. As part of this strategy, the shipyard has recently presented itself to the media, hosting a tailor-made event in Hong Kong.

CRN Shipyard in Ancona, Italy

CRN Shipyard in Ancona, Italy

The Ferretti Group shipyard in Ancona, specialized in the manufacturing and marketing of fully custom and semi-custom alluminium or composite mega yachts, ranging from 40 to 90 metres, has decided to present the strategies, results, trends and prospects to the operators of the “Greater China” market, a term which is commonly used to refer to the area that includes China together with Macao and Hong Kong.

For this purpose, CRN organized a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel and Mauro Frattesi, Ferretti Group Apac Managing Director, Lamberto Tacoli, President and CEO of CRN, and Luca Boldrini, Marketing Manager, gave speeches.

The Hong Kong event, which was important for CRN’s development strategies, followed the historic launching of the 80 metre CRN 129 motor yacht Chopi Chopi held on 12th January, just a few days before the Hainan Rendez Vous (30th March – 2nd April), the great international event dedicated to luxury, which has gained more and more importance over the years, and in which CRN will participate together with the Ferretti Group to meet clients and brokers.

During the press conference, President Tacoli presented the company’s situation, starting from the recent launching of the superyacht Chopi Chopi, the largest megayacht manufactured by the shipyard, which was launched in Ancona on 12th January after an event that was open to the city and attended by 4000 people.

Tacoli mentioned that CRN celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013, an important milestone which confirms the tradition and stability of the shipyard, which in the past experienced difficult moments and which operates within a complex market, sometimes turbulent, and which has even seen some brands disappear.

The Marketing Manager of CRN, Luca Boldrini, highlighted the importance of completely customized productions, adaptability and the novelties of the new yachts, emphasizing the different external lines constantly proposed by the ship owners and researched in collaboration with the most important international yacht designer firms.

CRN is well-established among the international shipbuilding elite, and records confirm its vitality: in fact, in the shipyard of Ancona 7 yachts of the CRN brand are being manufactured: six steel and aluminum megayachts –CRN 125 60 m luxury yacht J’Ade, launched in November 2012 and which will be delivered to the ship owner in April, CRN 129 80 m mega yacht Chopi Chopi, launched on 12th January and which will be delivered in May, 74m superyacht CRN 131 (all designed by Zuccon International Project), CRN 132 73 m (designed by Omega Architects), CRN 133 60 m (designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design), CRN 134 55 m (designed by Nuvolari & Lenard) – and a 43m CRN Navetta 43 made of composite, also designed by Zuccon International Project.

Among other things, the 60 metre superyacht J’Ade continues to have the success of the previous megayachts which have a 10.2 metre wide platform, and that has led to the manufacturing of important ships in the history of CRN, namely, charter yacht Ability, charter yacht Maraya, Romance, superyacht Blue Eyes, motor yacht Mimtee and luxury yacht Darlings Danama, but with design and technological innovations that make then unique.

Together with these CRN ships, in the shipyard of Ancona five maxiyachts of the Custom Line brand are being built (two CL 124’, two CL Navetta 33 Crescendo and the CL 112’ yacht Next) and the Riva 122’ superyacht Mythos made of aluminum, all of which are being manufactured. This is an impressive number of yachts, especially when their size and prestige is taken into consideration.

CRN is the world-bearer of the Made in Italy, which represents excellence, fusing creativity, design, technology and craftsmanship in single products, and is always tailor-made to the ship owners.

Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN said
: “This is an important moment for the development of our business, because it allows us to reach a market area that is very important for us, especially in the long term. We would like to emphasize that the Ferretti Group has already been present in this region for a long time, it opened an office in Shanghai over 8 years ago and it has a network of competent and trustworthy distributors. It is obvious that China has been an attractive market so far, but it will be more so in the coming years, when the yachting culture will have spread even more. We know that we need to be patient to see significant results.”

“CRN looks ahead to the next events, such as the 50th anniversary and two more launchings this season, a 60 metre and 43 metre, and above all the Monaco Yacht Show in September, where we will present the finished and equipped Chopi Chopi and J’Ade: it will be a decisive milestone for us to reach our clientele, which has become international. Besides the whole of the Asia Pacific, the markets that we are targeting are North, South and Central America, Africa, which is slow but emerging, and obviously the Middle East, as we wait for Europe to recover its share,” concluded Tacoli.

March 22, 2013

The Italian Ferretti Group is currently participating in this year’s Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX), through its dealer Lee Marine, Phuket’s top new yacht dealership & brokerage. The Group represents a world leader in the design, building and marketing of luxury motor yachts, with an unprecedented portfolio of eight exclusive and prominent brands – Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft, CRN as well as Ferretti Custom Line, each with its own distinctive and unique features.

Ferretti Group, thanks to the strategic partnership with the Weichai Group – one of the largest manufacturers of high-speed diesel engines in the PRC and a leading company in the power chain market – which acquired a controlling interest in the Group, and under the leadership of newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Ferruccio Rossi, has reorganized its corporate operating structure with a focus on further strengthening its unique brands and its centralized product development and engineering capabilities.

The new organization is focusing on the distinctive individuality of the brands with the product development, manufacturing and brand management teams in Italy focused on the ‘made in Italy’ tradition. This new directive will also implement a more globalized sales, marketing, and service footprint with a localized operating presence in each region, specifically Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA), the Americas and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) area.

In September 2012, the Ferretti Group founded the Ferretti Group APAC Company Ltd, based since last January in the Group’s new Hong Kong offices. Mauro Frattesi – former Chief Technical Office for Ferretti Group – was appointed as new Managing Director Ferretti Group APAC Company Ltd. Alessandro Tirelli, formerly Ferretti Yachts and Mochi Craft band manager, was appointed Sales Director of Ferretti Group APAC Company Ltd.

Clients of Ferretti Group in Asia can now expect a higher level of complete service and unprecedented support from their new Asian based headquarters.

Ferretti Group has rolled out new models, officially launched last September, at the Cannes International Boat Show 2012 and is focusing strongly on the Asia Pacific market from its Hong Kong base, with 10 senior figures from Italy to assist with customers, prospects and dealers in the choice of yachts and in the after-sales phase.

Ferretti Group currently gets about 15 per cent of its sales from Asia-Pacific, with Europe, the Middle East and Africa accounting for 50 per cent and the Americas 35 per cent. Ferretti aims to realign that to one-third in each region by 2018. The APAC region is therefore a significant area for the future growth of the Group’s nautical business.

FERRETTI GROUP AT PIMEX 2013

The Ferretti Group considers PIMEX one of the most important shows in the Asia Pacific region.

”We strongly believe in the Thailand market and in PIMEX for business opportunities,” stated Alessandro Tirelli, Ferretti Group Sales Director Asia Pacific. “ It is a reference point not only for this specific area, but for other markets as well. Today, our Group can count on a strong presence along the coast and in strategic centres with a local sales network.

“Our interest for this area has increased year after year. We are committed to increasing our participation in the main boat shows, nautical events and initiatives in the luxury and lifestyle arena in this region. The Ferretti Group has extended its work over the years in order to be present in a strategic area which is highly promising for pleasure boating and could become the most important in Asia over the next years.”

Lee Marine Managing Director Joshua Lee commented: “Phuket is high on the agenda as Ferretti Group APAC roll out their new strategy. It’s pleasing to have the company back and we are proud and excited about being part of this exciting new area.”

PIMEX is celebrating its 10th anniversary with displays on and off the water featuring exhibitors from China, Korea, Australia and Europe (e.g. Italy and France).

Ferretti Group announces its presence at Moscow Boat Show 2013

March 12, 2013

The Ferretti Group, one of the world top companies specializing in the design, building and sale of motor yachts, with an amazing portfolio of eight of the most exclusive and prominent brands, is thrilled to announce its participation in the Moscow Boat Show 2013. From 12 to 17 March, two of the Group fleet’s most successful yachts will be presented as absolute premieres for the Russian market: motor yacht Ferretti 530, representing Ferretti Yachts, and the 27-foot Iseo superyacht tender by Riva.

This year’s Moscow Boat Show will also offer the Ferretti Group the opportunity to announce all yachting enthusiasts in Russia and Northern Eurasia a new important achievement in its international growth: the renewal of its exclusive dealership agreement for the Russian Federation with its partner Premium Yachts, one of the leading dealers operating in the boating sector in Russia, which will represent the Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva e Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line brands.

The agreement – which was officially announced today during a press conference attended, among others, by Ferruccio Rossi (Ferretti Group’s CEO), Alexey Kurochkin (Premium Yachts’s President), and Stefano Campanelli (Sales Manager for the EMEA area for Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line) – is part of Ferretti Group’s strategy for a further expansion on the European markets offering the best short/medium-term growth perspectives, also thanks to the financial soundness regained following the strategic partnership forged with the Weichai Group.

More specifically, the Russian boating market holds a great potential for the Ferretti Group’s development because of the rapid growth of average wealth among the population and an increasing interest for Made in Italy luxury goods, like Ferretti Group yachts.

Through the renewal of the agreement with Premium Yachts, the Group will further strengthen its highly selected distribution network – which currently includes approximately 60 dealers ensuring the best possible customer care in more than 80 countries worldwide – as well as its presence in the traditional EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) area, one of the three macro-regions (besides the America and the Asia-Pacific) into which the Group’s sales structure is divided.

Moreover, in a medium/long-term perspective, the Ferretti Group is expecting an increasing interest on the Russian market not only for flying bridge yachts above 70’ in length, but also towards smaller crafts, both flybridge and open/coupé ones, which are particularly suitable for river cruising or pleasure boating in Russia’s large lakes. Consequently, the renewal of the dealership agreement with Premium Yachts also allows to look ahead at the future aiming to conquer new market segments where less competitors are currently present in terms of both products and geographic location.

The press conference, which was held today at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow, had also the objective of introducing attending journalists and yachting enthusiasts to the main new products launched by the Ferretti Group over the last few months, namely: motor yacht Ferretti 870, Ferretti 690 yacht, and the project of the new flagship Ferretti 960 superyacht for the Ferretti Yachts brand; luxury yacht Pershing 82’ and superyacht Pershing 108’ New Edition for Pershing; Riva 63’ Virtus and the project of the new Riva flagship, 122’ Mythos yacht, as well as the entire range of the Itama, Bertram and Mochi Craft brands.

The yachts launched over the last few months by CRN – the Group’s brand specialising in the construction of steel and aluminium yachts between 40 and 90 metres – were also presented during the conference: the two superyachts: CRN superyacht Jade (60 metres long) and CRN mega yacht Chopi Chopi (80 metres long), the latter being one of the largest pleasure vessels ever built in Italy and the largest one ever built by the Ancona-based shipyard.

“The renewal of our dealership agreement with an important partner like Premium Yachts – which has worked on the Russian market for almost 10 years and can boast an outstanding product knowledge and an excellent local market penetration – and the presentation of the Group’s latest models are an integral part of our development strategy on the EMEA markets offering the best growth perspectives in the short-medium term,” stated Ferruccio Rossi, Ferretti Group’s CEO.

“The Moscow Boat Show 2013, which has now reached its sixth edition, will extend over approximately 45,000 square metres this year and will be attended by more than 350 international boating companies. This Show represents an interesting business opportunity for us and an unmissable event in terms of visibility, since we are identifying a considerable growth potential in this area thanks to the timeless attractiveness of our products – true ambassadors of Made in Italy production all over the world”.

Singapore Yacht Show 2013 to feature top yacht brands

February 21, 2013

With less than two months to go, the Singapore Yacht Show 2013 continues to grow at a phenomenal rate. At already twice the size of the 2012 show, more and more market top companies are signing up to attend the show, running at ONEo15 Marina Club, Sentosa Cove.

Speaking to media at the show’s partner hotel, W Singapore–Sentosa Cove today (Thursday, February 21), Andy Treadwell, Managing Director of Singapore Yacht Events, unveiled a number of the yachts and boats that visitors can expect to see at the April gathering, and revealed why he believes Singapore Yacht Show is playing a significant part in positioning Singapore as a true “Monaco of the East”.

Set to run for four full days this year, from April 18 – 21, the 2013 show will welcome the award-winning 58m sailing yacht Twizzle, designed by Ed Dubois and built by Royal Huisman in Holland, making her international boat show debut at the Singapore Yacht Show.

British builder Sunseeker will be exhibiting some of its world-leading range of production yachts for the first time, including their 40m flagship motor yacht Tanvas, built specially for an Asian client in 2010, alongside a newly-launched 20m model.

Another hugely popular British brand joining the lineup for the first time this year is Princess Yachts, part of LVMH’s luxury brand portfolio, who will be exhibiting no less than seven vessels at Singapore Yacht Show.

They join other world-renowned builders such as Riva, Fairline, Grand Banks, Hanse Yachts, Sealine, Cranchi and the stunningly innovative Wider Yachts will be on display for those looking to explore their coastline by day-boat.

At the superyacht end, Palmer Johnson, Benetti, Royal Huisman, Westport, Kingship, Azimut, Aycer Yacht and Gulf Craft will all be represented, while leading local dealers and brokers such as Simpson Marine, Luxury Yachts, Premium Nautical and SG Boating will all be participating, with many more exciting announcements to follow shortly.

Now heading into its third year, the show is achieving what it was always asked to deliver – an event with the vibrancy, quality and reputation of the world’s best marine shows, providing a genuinely meaningful marketing platform for the international industry in Singapore. It is the true gateway to the Asian market.

The organisers have added plenty of complementary lifestyle elements to the bill, too. Private aircraft manufacturer Embraer joins the list of exhibitors in the Luxury Pavilion, alongside BMW M-Cars and Lamborghini, and leading contemporary fine art galleries. International realtors iProperty, will also be presenting their showcase of regional high-end properties, and international fashion houses, live bands and a world-famous nightclub will be presenting live shows during the social events.

The Singapore Yacht Show will also this year sit alongside two business-to-business conferences held on April 16 and 17; the annual Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference, and the inaugural Singapore Private Aircraft Conference & Expo (SPACE). In addition, a forum for the international luxury industry, entitled Luxury Keynotes – Understanding Wealth in Asia, is being co-organised on Friday 19th April with event partners Robb Report magazine.

Undisputedly, the Singapore Yacht Show 2013 will be the region’s premier lifestyle event, set in a magnificent location. Conveniently held at ONE°15 Marina Club, the show lends itself perfectly to sunset cocktails and uber-stylish waterside dining at the club and at all the neighbouring bars and restaurants lining the show on Quayside Isle.

Mr Treadwell says the opening of Quayside Isle and the eagerly-anticipated W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, “really completes the visitor experience of the show, offering the perfect stopover to absorb the sights and sounds in style”.

The Singapore Yacht Show has grown to become a yachting event that rivals some of the most important boat shows in the world, thanks to the support of the local yachting and boating industry and the Show’s sponsors and partners.  In terms of the significance of the event, and the quality of its exhibitors, there is little doubt that the Singapore Yacht Show is playing a very significant part in positioning Singapore as the South East Asia business hub for the international yachting and boating industry.
