Two new sections for the Perini Navi Group’s website now with Russian version online

“Captains & Crew Area” as well as “ Career” are the two new sections that will boast the website of the renowned Italian builder Perini Navi Group, developed for those who desire to be in direct contact with the extended family created by Perini Navi and Picchiotti.

The “Captains & Crew Area” section, which is only in English, has been created for Captains who already work on Perini Navi Group yachts and for those who would like to work on one of these yachts. Captains who are already employed on Perini vessels can communicate directly with the Group through a dedicated channel, those seeking employment can fill out a registration form and access a personal area where they can display and update their résumé.

The “Career” section will be both in Italian and in English is for those who are seeking landbased employment at the Perini Navi Group. Thanks to a new interactive form, all data regarding candidates for employment and their résumés will be gathered in a single database that will automatically organize and select their profiles. Candidates can update their profiles any time they wish.

On top of this, a new version of the website in Russian has been added to the versions already available in Italian and in English. All multimedia content of the website is compatible with the most popular mobile and desktop systems. In fact, one of this website’s primary objectives is ease of use and compatibility with smartphones and tablets. Expressly created to be adaptable and compatible with the latest technology and devices, the Perini Navi Group’s website uses xhtml strict 1.0 code.

60m Perini Navi superyacht hull C.2193 to be fitted with thruster by Ocean Yacht Systems

Ocean Yacht Systems (OYS) are delighted to announce they are now contracted to supply the new Perini Navi 60m series vessels with their latest RDE (Rim Driven Electric) thruster. The first model from these successful series to be fitted with the OYS thurster will be the sailing yacht hull C.2193. The hull C.2193 superyacht is due to be delivered in 2013.

Launched at the Monaco Yacht Show 2011, the RDE has been welcomed into the marketplace as a quieter and lighter alternative to other electric thrusters available. With the propeller as the only moving part, there is no need for expensive rim bearings or watertight seals which save weight, cost and improve the reliability.

Perini Navi luxury yacht hull c.2193 will be installed with a RDE-0650-S-090, which is a 90kw/120hp swing deploying thruster and will be delivered to the yard in Viareggio towards the close of 2012 where she will be fitted out and completed ready for handover.

The 73m motor yacht Vitruvius, also known as hull C.2189, has arrived at the Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia, from Perini Istanbul Yildiz, the Turkish facility of the Group. The Vitruvius superyacht is the third luxurious vessel sold by the Perini Navi Group and developed in partnership with Vitruvius Ltd as well as Philippe Briand. This spectacular vessel will stay at the Picchiotti shipyard for outfitting until delivery, scheduled for the year 2013.

Perini Navi superyacht Vitruvius was created, like the 50m motor yacht Exuma and the 55m luxury yacht Galileo G before her, for those who want to cruise safely and efficiently in comfort and with total autonomy. This new generation of motoryachts has a characteristic hull and superstructure shape, a new concept for interior spaces and ample room dedicated to storage for tenders and watercraft.

Perini Navi Group to attend Yare 2012

The prominent Italian shipyard, Perini Navi Group, world leader in the design as well as building of large sailing and motor yachts, will attend the second edition of Yare – an international show on Yachting After Sales & Refit – that will take place in Viareggio from the 26th to the 29th of April, 2012.

The Perini Navi Group will have its own stand inside the Superyachts Builder Tent in via Coppino. Here visitors will find staff and information on the Group’s activities and can schedule guided tours of the Perini Navi shipyards in Viareggio and the Picchiotti shipyards in La Spezia.

The Group has always combined Refit and Repairs services with the design and construction of large sailing and motor yachts putting their vast experience acquired over the years at the disposition of all kinds of yachts. Their Refit and Repairs services, performed directly at the Group’s own shipyards, use the Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia as their hub, as there they can count on an infrastructure that is truly unique and on dedicated, experienced personnel.

After the success of its first edition, YARE is returning to the Darsena area of Viareggio with a clear objective: to promote top quality Refit and Repair services in both sailing and motor yachts.

Perini Navi and Comitato Leonardo reward again young students

The Perini Navi Group, world leader in the design as well as building of large sailing and motor yachts, has decided to reward young graduates who have written thesis on subjects that are relevant to the promotion of nautical products that are made in Italy by presenting two prizes to be awarded to students who earn their degrees in the courses promoted by the Comitato Leonardo.

The Comitato Leonardo, currently directed by the entrepreneur Luisa Todini, was created in 1993 by the Senators Sergio Pininfarina and Gianni Agnelli, by The Italian industrial association Confindustria, by the ICE and by a group of other businessmen. The Comitato’s mission is to promote Italy as a whole through a series of initiatives that show entrepreneurial spirit, artistic creativity, culture and refinement and that are demonstrated in the country’s products and lifestyle.

The Prizes for Degrees program, first launched by the Comitato Leonardo in 1997, has already rewarded 100 top notch students for their work. There are nine associated companies who have supported the program in 2012 by creating eleven grants worth approximately 3,000 Euro each.

“The Perini Navi Group and all of the other companies in the committee, companies that are the apex of products that are made in Italy, all intend to support and promote the talent of the students who are the future of our economy,” said Luisa Todini. “The Prizes for Degrees program aims to give these students a space of their own by supporting the best and most worthy thesis that show the best in Italy today no matter in which industrial sector.”

The “Premio Perini Navi,” granted this year for the fifth time, will award two scholarships for a value of 3,000 Euro each.

The first prize, titled ” A Project for a Sailing Boat of over 40 m with Electric Propulsion,” will be awarded to students who study Architecture, Engineering or Design and will go to those projects that best transform the characteristics of a sailing vessel of a specific length and typology with a tradition propulsion system into a sailing vessel with an electric propulsion system.

The project will have to adhere to certain criteria: size, general arrangement plan, engine room requirements, tonnage, an electronically controlled sail plan, estimated wattage consumption, blueprint and cross section.

The technical accuracy and real life possibility of construction will also be taken into account based on construction techniques available currently.

The second prize, titled ” Management of resources and processes for the optimization of a project for a large yacht in terms of construction times and costs”, will be awarded to students of Engineering or Economics and Commerce. This prize will go to new thesis, to students who have already written their thesis or to students who have done research on new management techniques for projects on large vessels. The prize will look for ideas that focus on ways to optimize construction times and costs.

Particular attention will be paid to projects that show the most important phases for improvement, originality of methods and instruments, efficiency and real life application for outsourcing to both small and medium sized companies.

To qualify for either or both of the prizes one must fill out and send in the application along with the thesis and a summary of the thesis to the Segretaria Generale del Comitato Leonardo, Via Liszt 21, 00144 Rome no later that October 31, 2012.

The prize will be awarded in a Prizes for Degrees ceremony that will be held at the Quirinale specifically for the Leonardo Prizes. The President of the Italian Republic will also be present.

Cockwells, known for their top quality wooden boats with modern performance, is currently building a new 9.5 metre ‘Owner Tender’ for the 73m Vitruvius superyacht currently under construction by the prestigious Perini Navi luxury boat builder in Italy.

Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme and Cockwells, these renderings show the yacht tender’s retro styling. The hull is built using lightweight composite technology in epoxy foam sandwich construction. It is covered with an Awlgrip paint system and teak decking.

The handcrafted interior of the new 9.5m Vitruvius yacht tender by Cockwells provides seating for 12 guests and features include a wet bar and folding Bimini. On the bathing platform there is a dive ladder and shower, while the forepeak contains a carbon fibre electric toilet and wash basin.

Perini Navi to attend the Hainan Rendezvous 2012

The Perini Navi Group is delighted to announce that they will be present at the Hainan Rendezvous, China’s leading yacht and private jet show, which will take place from April 5th to 8th, 2012. The Italian world leader in the design as well as building of sailing and motor yachts will exhibit its sailing yachts, along with Picchiotti motor yachts.

Videos, models and photographs of the 53 yachts built and launched by the Group will be on display at stand n. I 7 in the yachting section.

With a fleet of yachts ranging from 25 m to 88 m, the Perini Navi Group Perini Navi is the undisputed leader in the creation and construction of large luxury sailing yachts with automatic sail handling systems.

In 2007 the Group bought and re-launched the Picchiotti brand that specialises in motor yachts. Since then Picchiotti has delivered two yachts, one 50 m and one 55 m from their Vitruvius® series. Another 73 m yacht is currently in completion.

The Perini Navi Group will take advantage of the occasion offered by the Hainan Rendez-vous to announce their new collaboration with Enrico Zanella, who will promote Perini Navi and Picchiotti yachts in China. Zanella has years of experience working in China where he has been living since 1999 and where he has made a significant contribution towards promoting a passion for yachting.

Founded in 1997, Proteksan Turquoise was established when two of the world’s leading shipyards, Proteksan Yachts and Turquoise Yachts Construction came together to combine their assets and solid yacht building experience. Today, Proteksan Turquoise enjoys a commanding position in the global superyacht industry, with two wholly-owned shipyard facilities in the world-class city of Istanbul.

Proteksan Turquoise moved to its new facilities in Pendik in 2007, an impressive 25.000 square metre landscaped location with four building halls and a dock length of 110m. The management demands that safety and environmental issues are paramount, offering customers a clean and safe environment for the workforce and high precision engineering. The 70.54m motor yacht Talisman C and the 55.4m Turquoise superyacht are 2012 World Superyacht Awards finalists.

RMK Marine builds custom sail and power boats from 30m upwards in composites, steel, and aluminium. RMK Marine has built numerous award winning superyachts and sets the benchmark for the Turkish superyacht industry with uncompromising quality and exceptional value. On-site facilities include full refit, repair and restoration services for visiting yachts. The yard has a lifting capacity of up to 700 tonnes.

The tour will feature a visit to RMK Marine’s world class composite production facilities where the semi-custom 100 and 125 foot superyachts are produced for Oyster Marine. Visitors will be able to see the Oyster 100 and 125 superyachts in the fit-out stage and have a rare opportunity to view the historical yachts Romola and Falka undergoing restoration. Visitors will also tour the in-house joinery workshop and visit the design department where they can witness first-hand the engineering capabilities of RMK Marine. The 45m luxury yacht Karia and the 30.80m sailing yacht Sarafin are both shortlisted for the 2012 World Superyacht Awards.

PERINI NAVI
Founded by Fabio Perini in the late 1980s, Perini Istanbul – Yildiz Gemi, is today one of the most distinguished yards in the Mediterranean Basin. In its 42,000 square metre waterfront, the hulls of the sailing and motor yachts of the Perini Navi Group are built by a skilled and highly motivated team. Since its acquisition, Yildiz Gemi owes its reputation to The Maltese Falcon, the revolutionary 88m clipper, the flagship of the Perini Navi Fleet which was entirely completed in Turkey. The Maltese Falcon project has not only brought to the world’s attention the technical and managerial skills of Perini Istanbul – Yildiz Gemi, but has also brought rewards to the whole Turkish yachting industry.

The experienced team, united to the working method of Perini Navi, is the key factor of this yard, which most recently completed the hull of the 73m motoryacht, Picchiotti of the Vitruvius Series. This is the first 60m hull of the new series of sailing yachts recently sold by the group, which will be followed by 2 further units in the next 12 months. Furthermore, Yildiz is completing the whole construction of the first 40m racer-cruiser sloop, the first of her kind, designed in collaboration with Ron Holland. The 55m motor yacht Galileo G and the 50m sailing yacht Fidelis are 2012 finalists.

Perini Navi launch 50m sailing yacht ENTERPRISE

The prestigious Italian luxury yacht builder and designer, Perini Navi, has launched its 52nd vessel – the sailing yacht ENTERPRISE (hull C.2173) - of the Perini Navi sailing yacht fleet. Superyacht Enterprise is a 50m aluminium ketch, 2nd in the new 50m Perini Navi aluminium hulled series and is scheduled to be delivered in May.

Yacht Enterprise, designed by the naval architects at Perini Navi in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland, has an aluminium hull with sleek and aggressive lines which, combined with a longer waterline and strongly vertical appendages, make for improved sailing performance.

The ketch sail plan, designed and built by the Perini Navi Group’s Mast Department, totals over 1,400 square meters and is handled through 11 reel captive winches. The main and mizzen masts of Enterprise yacht measure 56.7 m and a 43 m respectively, and are in aluminium while the furling boom and spreaders are in carbon fibre.

The hull has an opening transom that becomes an ample beach platform. The 19’ main tender is housed under the fore deck in a flush tender well that also houses a catamaran that can be mounted for day sailing. Superyacht Enterprise’s superstructure has been completely redesigned with two large skylights.

Enterprise’s interior design is by Hong Kong’s Edge Design Institute and has a brand new conception for the spaces. Flexibility in the use and division of the yacht’s various spaces combined with a well-planned choice of materials and colour tones give this yacht an absolutely new and innovative style.

Sailing Yacht C.2173 is the sixth 50m sailing yacht in the Perini Navi fleet. The first 50m, is Phryne sailing yacht(Steel,1999), and was then followed by sailing yacht Aurore (Steel, 2000), SY Perseus (Steel, 2001), …Is A Rose (Steel, 2003) and sailing yacht Baracuda (Aluminum, 2008).
