Benetti Yacht NATALY – first Cayman Islands registered yacht to achieve MLC compliance with assistance of Inserve Yachts

April 02, 2013

Inserve Yachts are thrilled to announce that the 2011 Benetti yacht Nataly (ex Amnesia IV) has with their assistance become the first Cayman Islands registered yacht to reach MLC compliance. All elements of the MLC inspection were completed by Cayman Islands inspectors on March 6, 2013.

The inspection included crew employment and conditions as part of the 14 main sections of the MLC; this latest ILO legislation updates the standards of labour for seafarers, ensuring their working life at sea is regulated fairly and their safety and rights are protected.

The high rate of staff turnover within the superyacht industry has always been a hot topic, with owners and captains keen to provide reassurance to staff that they are committed to their wellbeing whilst on board. MLC compliance indicates that staff will be well looked after and employed under strict laws that both protect them, and make life easier for the owner.

Inserve Yachts’ experience within the industry over the years has given them the knowledge necessary to implement the changes needed to satisfy the Convention. They understand that today, a yacht and crew must comply with an ever increasing legislative burden whilst still delivering the highest standards of performance and service to the owner and guests.

Inserve Yachts have worked closely with the Captain to ensure that the 65m luxury yacht Nataly complies with all the regulatory requirements. Nataly’s documentation was reviewed prior to inspection, including crew contracts of employment and crew insurance, and the safety management system was updated to meet the additional MLC requirements. It was also necessary to make some changes to physical elements of operations on board.

Jon Gray, Director of Inserve Yachts said: “We are pleased to have played such an influential role in ensuring that Nataly has met the requirements of the MLC. Working towards this goal our team have used their knowledge of the industry and adapted their skills to embrace the new Convention.”

Carlo Summonti, Captain of superyacht Nataly said: “Inserve Yachts worked extremely closely with us during the preparations for Nataly’s compliance inspection. Their experience shone through in their work and allowed them to tackle the challenges head on. We are delighted that Nataly is the first Cayman Islands yacht to become MLC compliant.”

The leading Italian builder, Benetti, has recently moved its latest 63-metre motor yacht Hull FB265 to the finishing/outfitting shed. Developed by the yard’s in-house team, the beautiful design of Hull FB265 superyacht reminds of a mixture of two Benetti vessels, megayacht Nataly (ex Amnesia IV) as well as luxury yacht Diamonds are Forever. Scheduled for launch in 2014, she is presently in build in Livorno and is the second largest vessel under construction by Benetti, following the 90m Hull FB262 yacht, due to be launched in mid 2015.

Winners of the 2011 Nautical Design Awards

October 28, 2011

After the successful first edition, the Nautical Design Award has returned: on the 20th October a gala dinner has taken place at the hotel Gallery Seven Stars in Milan, where ten winners have received awards in their respective categories. Judged by an exceptional Jury, including such illustrious owners as Gabriele Galatieri di Genola, Lamberto Vallarino Gancia, Matteo Cordero di Montezemolo and Remo Ruffini as well as the president of ADI, Luisa Bochietto.  From October 21st to 31st all the winning projects are exhibited at the heart of Milan, on the Piazzetta Croce Rossa, exhibited for the many fans and curious passers by who have a chance to admire the best that the nautical design has to offer.

Codecasa Vintage motor yacht of 42m

Codecasa Vintage motor yacht of 42m

Category: Motor Yacht Interior Design

Winner: 42M Vintage superyacht

Builder: Cantieri Navali Codecasa

Interior Design: Codecasa / Arch. Della Role

Year: 2011

After having visited motor yacht Vintage at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, the Jury have decided to include her not only in the ‘Yachts Over 40 metres’ category, but also in the ‘Interior Design’ category. General balance, cleanliness and simplicity of the yachts’ environment were the most important aspects taken into consideration by the Jury. Sophisticated and marine atmosphere has been created on board of the motor yacht Vintage, thanks to her unforced interior decor with functional division of spaces as well as the use of wood and light upholstery.

Technical Information:

Codecasa 42m F73 motoryacht Guest Cabin

Category: Motor Yacht up to 24 metres

Winner: yacht Prestige 500

Builder: Prestige – Jeanneau

Interior Design: Garroni Design

Year: 2010

The Jury’s decision is mainly motivated by the high level of industrialisation achieved by the shipyard, which allows Prestige 500 motoryacht to reach an interesting quality and price balance. An award that goes equally to the product as well as the yard, which has been able to produce exclusive items designed with intelligence for the benefit of the consumer. She is a example of a successful design found rarely in this industry.

Technical Information:

LOA 15.2 m, Beam 4.5m, Displacement 14.1 tonne, Fuel 1.300 l, Engines IPS 2x435hp

Ferretti 124 Custom Line superyacht

Ferretti 124 Custom Line superyacht

Category: Motor Yacht from 24 to 40 metres

Winner: Custom Line 124 yacht

Builder: Ferretti Custom Line

Interior Design: Ferretti Custom Line / Zuccon International Project

Year: 2011

Ferretti Custom Line 124 superyacht is the largest planing vessel built by the shipyard, to date. Appreciated are the stylistic choices as well as the volume, which provides the yacht with a dynamic and aggressive look, more correspondent to a sport boat, rather than a traditional double deck motor yacht. At the same time, space distribution solutions have been applied to create large spaces, with attention to minimise the impact of the sea.

Technical Information:

LOA 37.8m, Beam 7.35m, Displacement 166 tonne, Fuel 20.000 l, Engines 2 x 3.184 hp,

Superyacht Nataly (ex Amnesia IV) by Benetti

Category: Motor Yacht above 40m

Winner: motor yacht Nataly (ex Amnesia IV)

Builder: Benetti Yachts

Designer: Benetti / Redman Whiteley Dixon Ltd

Year: 2011

Nataly has got the Jury’s attention thanks to her lines, with some military inspired characteristics, including her straight bow and the half decks that create a fundamentally contemporary product. Without any force, the shipyard has been able to modernise a sector usually static, by integrating its range in the not so easy economic situation we have today. A recognition of  international competitiveness to the yard, for their capability to impose itself with personality in this crowded sector.

Technical Information:

LOA 65m, Beam 11.75m, Displacement 224 tonne, Fuel 160.000 l, Engines E x 2.260 hp

Benetti Yacht NATALY

Benetti Yacht NATALY

Category: Sailing Yacht Interior Design

Winner: Sense 50

Builder: Beneteau

Interior Designer: Nauta Yachts

Year: 2010

Shipyard and the designers have done an excellent job on creating a boat series with care worthy of higher class vessels, to generate a superior quality product accessible to all. The vessel features an innovative layout that allows for a great flow between the exterior and the interior spaces, found almost on the same level. This aspect is little developed on an industrial product. Unusual is also the cabin layout, with all cabins located at the bow.

Technical Information:

LOA 14.98m, Beam 4.86m, Draft 2.10m, Displacement 15.29 tonne, Sail area 127 sq. m.

Southern Wind superyacht Kiboko interior

Southern Wind superyacht Kiboko interior

Category: Sailing Yacht up to 24m

Winner: Mylius 19 e95

Builder: Mylius Yachts

Designer: Alberto Simeone

Year: 2011

The Jury’s decision is motivated by the overall quality of this project, 100% Italian (shipyard and the designer), based on great research of simple pure lines and details, balance of the spaces, ergonomics and the attention to performance. At the forefront is the construction of the all carbon hull. Resolved and very unique is the connection between the very versatile internal spaces: a sliding door unites the dinette and the owner’s stateroom creating an open space.

Technical Information:

LOA: 19.95m, Beam 4.96m, Draft 3.95m, Displacement 18,6 tonnes, Sail area 250 sq. m.

Sailing yacht Kiboko 24m

Category: Sailing yacht over 24m

Winner: SW 94 Kiboko superyacht

Builder: Southern Wind

Designer: Reichel Pugh / Nauta Yachts

Year: 2010

The Jury has awarded the overall outcome, well-balanced, both inside and outside. The products shows a very fine attention to detail indicating continued focus on design, which never expires in the pure exercise of style. The project represent an excellent concept of understanding and realisation of a yacht with the final purpose of true sailing; a result not always achieved by yachts similar to her size and to her level of finish.

Technical Information:

LOA 28.64m, Beam 6.66m, Draft 4.50m, Displacement 50.5 tonnes, Sail area 476 sq. m.

Magellano 50 Motor yacht – Credit Azimut Yachts

Category: Low Environmental Impact Yacht

Winner: Magellano 50 yacht

Builder: Azimut Yachts

Designer: Cor D Rover

Year: 2010

The award has been assigned for the vision of this project, that indicates an outlined direction to other competitors. The victory has not been assigned so much for the hybrid propulsion, on which the jury expressed some doubts, but for the use of recyclable materials used in construction. A yacht thought, designed and constructed to be recycled and at the same time with an attention dedicated to the finishes, including certified wood and natural fabrics.

Technical Information:

LOA 15.64 m, Beam 4.65m, Displacement 25 tonnes, Fuel 3.000 l, Engines 2 x 425 hp

Superyacht ZEFIRA

Superyacht ZEFIRA

Category: Innovation Award

Winner: Sailing Yacht Zefira

Builder: Fitzroy Yachts

Designer: Ed Dubois

Year: 2011

The Jury appreciated the concept of the design and construction:  a yacht of large dimensions has been created, without a need to forcefully create a flybridge area for the wheelhouse. This measure, without detracting from the functionality, has resulted in very sleek lines that, together with the elegance and the high level of finish, determine the perception of the product’s excellence.

Technical Information:

LAO 49.7 m, Beam 9.95m, Draft 4.9 m, Displacement 322 tonnes, Sail Area 3.000 sq. m.

65m Benetti Motor Yacht Nataly wins Nautical Design Award

October 27, 2011

Luxury superyacht builder Benetti has received new international recognition for thier 65 metre FB252 superyacht Nataly, which was a star at the 2011 Nautical Design Awards. The most important and preeminent recognition devoted to boating design, the 2011 Nautical Design Awards official ceremonies were held for on October 20, in Milan, the capital of design and ‘Made in Italy’.

Benetti was the star of the evening with the FB252 65mt motor yacht Nataly. The impressive, 65-metre custom yacht Nataly built in steel and aluminium was launched several months ago in Livorno, receiving the highest recognition in the category “Motoryachts Larger than 40 Metres”.

The automobile world has often drawn inspiration from the shape of seaworthy boats, incorporating the work processes and the way smooth surfaces are interrupted to create not just structural and functional tensions but also for authentic sightlines for the eye. With the mega yacht Nataly, these shapes return to the sea, suggesting new marine shapes – secure, swift, and tranquilising.

The special hull with the vertical, non-bulbous prow, five hatches, the disappearing anchors integrated in the hull, and an innovative, dynamic exterior line are accompanied by a concept for the interiors that is just a modern and rigorous, where the spare use of wood, leather and marble is enhanced by the valuable workmanship, creating an effect of subtle elegance: as uncommon as it is captivating.

With the Nautical Design Award, the two yachts automatically gain access to another important triennial selection – open to all categories of products – the ADI Design INDEX, which brings with it the possibility of being awarded the Golden Compass, for more than 50 years the most coveted recognition for Italian design.

Benetti is one of the world’s oldest builders of megayachts. Founded in Viareggio in 1873 by Lorenzo Benetti, the shipyard started out building wooden, masted barks for local and international commercial purposes, quickly earning its reputation as an industry leader worldwide.

In 1985, Azimut opened a new chapter in Benetti history. The purchase of the Tuscan boatyard signalled a new era of management and capital investment that has made Benetti what it is today: a modern, cutting-edge shipyard ready to meet the challenges of the future, able to offer its owners the world’s most exclusive and refined yachts.

Since then, Benetti’s growth has outpaced that of any other competitor in the sector; it makes over 130 yachts and specialises in the production of semi-custom ranges from 93 to 145 feet as well as completely custom steel and aluminium megayachts of over 45 metres.

In 2003, the Azimut-Benetti Group S.p.A. took over the Cantieri Navali Fratelli Orlando in Livorno, launching a major industrial plan to create a facility specialised in pleasure boating alongside the revitalisation of an urban area and tourist port.

Since 2004 Benetti has been worldwide considered as the leader in mega yacht production. Below is an image gallery selection of just some of their charter yachts.

Yacht Seanna was launched as the second yacht by the shipyard in 2011, following the launch of another stunning Benetti vessel, the motor yacht Nataly.

Although there are no other details available about the recently launched superyacht Seanna, CharterWorld will ensure to post any new information as soon as available.

Redman Whiteley Dixon were delighted to be present at the launch of Benetti’s FB252 motor yacht ‘Nataly’ in April at the shipbuilders Livorno facility, Italy. From what started as a sketch on an aircraft on May25th 2006, the magnificent vision which greeted the team on Monday morning was an emotional moment.

Despite numerous visits over the past 5 years this was the first time we were able to stand back and fully appreciate the reality of the extensive modelling which had gone before to create superyacht Nataly. Finally we had the chance to see the majesty of superyacht Nataly; immaculately painted  and glazed, with her bright work gleaming and mast installed.

The enthusiasm of the yard and onlookers alike was coupled with an underlying feeling that this was the launch of a very special yacht – Nataly. For Redman Whiteley Dixon,  motor yacht Nataly is a significant boat, she demonstrates the strength of our ability for both interior and exterior styling whilst for Benetti she shows a new dynamic in producing beautiful custom yachts.
