Written by Eva Belanyiova

Miami International Boat Show held in February, saw the new Mangusta 92 yacht by Overmarine as one of the top yachts. ‘The perfect body’, this seductive Maxi-Open motor yacht Mangusta 92 merges beautiful elegance, class and speed in her immaculately proportioned hull.

Her racy lines make her a leading figure at the dock: a ‘society’ yacht, full of character and extremely sporty, too. Twin MTU 16V2000M94 2600Hp engines and two Kamewa 56S3 hydrojects drive motor yacht Mangusta 92 to a top speed of 40 knots.

Sailing this yacht is not only exciting, but very pleasant, too. On-board silence, guaranteed by the new soundproofing system, enhances the comfort of the large spaces and elegant furnishings. Style and an astounding performance without renouncing to comfort for owners and their guests: on the lower deck, the spacious layout of the Mangusta 92 yacht is large enough for 3 cabins and a lounge, all equipped with high tech entertainment areas. The project also provides for a second 4 cabin solution.

The interior design is markedly modern, if not innovative, according to a new modern furnishing philosophy. It is not ‘minimal’, but rather features sharp, clean lines which give the yacht a unique, contemporary style. The wengé flooring in the lounge and cabins is a refined contrast to the oak furniture. Walls and ceiling are clad in magnificent leather in both natural and dark browns, giving all the different areas a relaxing, cosy atmosphere.

Painstaking care has been taken over each and every detail of the exterior, which features dynamic, racy lines. The stern sundeck of the new Mangusta 92 yacht offers a range of opportunities for relaxing, whilst a selection of water toys such as jet skis can be launched easily from the stern garage, to liven up days spent in the sea and sun. The draught is less than 5’25”, making this yacht perfect for shallow paradises such as the Bahamas and the Caribbean. You couldn’t ask for more.

Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show 2012: a Great Success

The Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami Beach reported significantly stronger overall results in comparison to the past several years, with the number of exhibitors and yachts on display both up 9 percent over 2011.

The Yacht and Brokerage Show, Miami

The Yacht and Brokerage Show, Miami

Attendance, based on concession sales and number of people using show transportation at the free-to-the-public event, was up more than 7 percent. Most importantly, notably strong sales activity was reported by numerous builders including Fairline, Viking, Ferretti, Hatteras, Westport and Marquis and brokerages including Allied Marine, HMY and Merle Wood, among others.

“The show was a tremendous success this year,” said Andrew Doole, senior vice president and COO of Show Management. “We had more exhibitor participation and the reports are of more qualified buyers than recent years, both signs of a strong industry and a strong show.”

“This year’s Yacht & Brokerage Show was the busiest Miami show Denison Yacht Sales has ever had,” said owner, Bob Denison. “We introduced the Monte Carlo 76 to the U.S. market and our displays in TrawlerPort and at Beneteau Gran Turismo were slammed every day. Two Beneteau Swift Trawlers and eight Gran Turismos were sold at the show.”

For sale at this year’s show were two of the largest yachts ever offered at The Yacht & Brokerage Show: the 200′ Benetti megayacht Diamonds Are Forever, and the 191′ Trinity luxury yacht Carpe Diem. Both garnered attention from qualified buyers.

“It was an incredibly positive Yacht & Brokerage Show for us, and the boat we had on display, Shooting Star, caused a real stir,” said Neil Cheston, director of sales and charter with Y.CO. “We definitely intend to have an even bigger presence at next year’s show.”

TrawlerPort and its seminars, more free shuttle buses, additional parking, the user-friendly smart phone app, MyBoatShow, Yacht Equipment and Sportfishing Pavilions, IGFA seminars, food and live musical entertainment, all contributed to making this year’s Yacht & Brokerage Show a top-line yachting lifestyle event.

“The show brought us many qualified customers,” said Alan Murphy, Jr., vice president of Pioneer Linens Yacht & Estates Division and a show sponsor. “What was refreshing was the number of new show visitors traveling to the show as a destination.”

The Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show is managed, produced and co-owned by Show Management, co-owned and sponsored by the Florida Yacht Brokers Association, and sponsored by Boat Show Hotels, Boat Quest, Budweiser, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and the IGFA School of Sportfishing, Pioneer Linens, Rums of Puerto Rico, TrawlerPort, and Yachts International.

Azimut Yachts and Atlantis record strong sales at the 2012 Miami Boat Show

February 24, 2012

Azimut Yachts and Atlantis confirm “best seller” leadership in the Americas, following the conclusion of the 2012 Miami International Boat Show. They have recorded strong sales in the USA, Central and South America, demostrating that direct sales at boat shows are growing stronger. Azimut Yachts thus confirms its position as the No. 1 European importer in this market.

The Azimut 95 Superyacht

The Azimut 95 Superyacht

“Highly satisfied!” was the first on-the-spot comment by Marco Valle, Sales Director for Azimut Yachts and Atlantis, who returned to headquarters with 23 signed contracts, foremost among these the sale of an Azimut Yachts 95.

Also meeting with great satisfaction was Atlantis, the specialist for opens, which was in attendance at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show with its entire line, including two models – the 38 and the 58 yachts.

Likewise noteworthy are the recent sales and service agreements concluded with MarineMax and with a broad network of Azimut dealers in Central and South America, with the company achieving good sales success and making new contacts.

At the halfway point of the 2011/12 boating season, Azimut has reached 75% of total sales volume for the Americas generated over the entire 2010/11 season. The increase in sales, particularly in the United States, demonstrates how customers are always more motivated to purchase our products “due, on the one hand, to the loyalty built up over the years to the Azimut Yachts brand and, on the other, to continual product innovation and to all of the integrated services and customer support offered to owners,” said Paolo Casani, CEO of Azimut Yachts and Atlantis, during the traditional press lunch on the splendid terrace of the Soho Beach House.

Choosing Azimut Yachts also means being able to count on an on-site service network. Indeed, the Azimut USA Service Center has been in operation since 2004, guaranteeing that repairs are made in a timely manner, thanks also to a global Intranet system that immediately alerts the boatyard about requests for spare parts.

The strategic and network presence in the territory and the drive for continuous innovation have always been trademarks of Azimut Yachts, which now maintains representative offices in Brazil and China.

In terms of new product development, Azimut benefits from its own R&D department, which collaborates closely with universities and suppliers throughout the world, and it is able to rely on significant investment: EUR 25 million during the last three years alone, dedicated exclusively to new models.

The strategic importance of boating services has prompted the Azimut Benetti Group to dedicate an entire company to this business, Yachtique, where customers can have access to the most complete offerings available today in the world of yachting: Mooring Place, Crew Recruiting, Financing, Brokerage, Charter, and Styling lounge.

The Azimut Benetti Group, which has specialised in the offering of boats and services for 42 years, has always stood out for its strong innovative capabilities, which today make it the world leader in integrated boating services: products from 35’ to 300’, and 360° services for its customers.

These are the very things that make the Azimut Benetti Group the only private player in the boating industry with a compound annual growth rate over 10 years by 16% of the turnover, net assets of EUR 300 million, no liabilities to banks or financing institutions, and the ability to make an investment of more than EUR 80 million in new models and service for the next three years.

Riviera’s beautiful motor yacht 53 Enclosed Flybridge is being exhibited for the first time at the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show, taking place from February 16 to 20, 2012. The 53 yacht makes part of several of the newest and most famous designs from Australia’s premier luxury boat builder which are expected to impress boating enthusiasts at the show.

Riviera exhibits four of its latest models at the Collins Avenue display including the new 43 Open Flybridge yacht with IPS, new luxury yacht 53 Enclosed Flybridge with IPS or ZF 4000 pod drives, 5000 Sport Yacht with Zeus and the 5800 Sport Yacht with IPS or Zeus.

As one of the world’s largest and most prestigious boating events, the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show spans 1.2 million square feet in the heart of Miami Beach.

Director of Riviera Yachts Chris McCafferty said the Miami Yacht and Brokerage show was regarded as one of the world’s leading boat shows. “Riviera has held a strong presence at the Miami Boat Show for the past 12 years and we look forward to showcasing our impressive range of new models,” Mr McCafferty said.

“The Riviera display, located at the southern most end of Collins Avenue near the road bridge and adjacent to Ramp 34 is a prime spot to showcase our latest models,” Mr McCafferty said. “The 53 Enclosed Flybridge has already received 17 orders from enthusiasts in Australia and the US in just eight months since it was launched in May last year.”

This spacious design, dubbed the ‘spaceship’ is the first Riviera Flybridge in the 50 foot range to offer a full-beam master stateroom, with king-size bed and large ensuite. The 53 is also the first Riviera in this size bracket to offer an enclosed flybridge with spacious seating for a party of 10.

Featuring a new generation of luxury, technology and personal customisation, the 53 has been developed in-house after nearly two years of detailed consultation with boat owners across the globe. The 53 yacht has the option of an open or enclosed flybridge and a choice of either IPS or ZF 4000 pod drive propulsion systems.

The result is a fresh approach, signalling a new generation of Riviera prowess and efficiency. The 53 yacht is a vessel of considerable internal volume, allowing Riviera’s designers to create unprecedented living spaces, elegant amenities and unrivalled performance.

“The new 43 Open Flybridge is one of Riviera’s most successful models with 33 of these new boats sold since its launch in 2010, which is a significant achievement,” Mr McCafferty said. “The 5800 and 5000 Sport Yachts have been extremely well received with sales of 23 and 44 boats respectively since their recent launches with several models now in the Americas. With such an impressive line up of new models on display, I have no doubt that Riviera will enjoy a very strong show.”

Riviera’s Director of Brand and Communications Stephen Milne said the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show in partnership with the Miami International Boat Show had always been one of the largest and most successful boat shows for Riviera.

“With 24 boats currently under construction as we start the New Year, we anticipate continued success at the 2012 Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show.  We will have our professional team on hand to discuss our exciting new and innovative models,” Mr Milne said.

Mangusta 130 motor yacht Misunderstood by Overmarine Group at the Miami International Boat Show

February 16, 2012

Written by Chelsea Smith

The Overmarine Group, an Italian Shipyard founded in 1985 and still owned and managed by the Balducci Family, will be present at this year’s 2012 Miami International Boat Show and will exhibit the Mangusta 130 motor yacht Misunderstood and a Mangusta 92. Since the last American Show – the Fort Lauderdale in October 2011, the Overmarine Group has appointed two more dealers: for the Balearic islands in Spain and for India. The expansion of the Group is travelling towards East but still participating directly to the main American Shows of Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Miami.

Maurizio Balducci, Overmarine Group CEO says: “We are truly happy of our co-operation with Marine Max and want to be present and support them directly at the two main US shows. The American market is far too important”.

Overmarine Group is participating at the Miami International Boat Show 2012 presenting the Mangusta 92 and the Mangusta 130 Misunderstood.

MANGUSTA 130 motor yacht Misunderstood

The Mangusta 130 Misunderstood yacht combines style, elegance and high performance. This formidable motor yacht, contemporary in style, does not deny the tradition of Mangusta that has no rivals.

When the twin MTU16V4000 M93L 4610 HP are fired up and bring the yacht to a full speed of 38 knots, the peaceful and relaxing feeling remains, as there is no noise or vibration.

A particular attention was given to the combination of materials and colors used.

Indeed, the materials chosen for the motor yacht Misunderstood are bleached oak for the walls and wengé for the furniture merging to create a design that is always trendy. The finishing with the shiny chrome, emperador marble and leather used from cream to dark brown color, tastefully complement the interior design. The wengé parquet flooring throughout the Misunderstood yacht, the marble floors in the bathrooms and the shower walls with custom Bisazza mosaics make this yacht a masterpiece.

The formidable spaciousness of the Mangusta 130 Misunderstood motor yacht results from an extended architectural study of the volumes offered by the boat; indeed, it has 4 spacious cabins and a gym equipped with the newest machines.

In the Master Cabin, located at the stern, you get the impression that you could touch the water through the portholes which keep you in contact with the sea. High impact gives the owner’s bathroom, where the shower is located in the center of the yacht, with two entrances and glass walls that offers a comprehensive visual depth from the left to the right of the yacht, creating a unique perspective.

The guest cabins on M/Y Misunderstood are on port and starboard of the yacht, very large, both equipped with desk/vanity. Another spacious Vip Stateroom allows friends and/or family to comfortably be onboard. Each stateroom has its own large bathroom, as well as entertainment systems.

The main deck has a spacious salon. This generous room is divided by the arrangement of the sofas into 2 separate areas, keeping the space open and harmonious. The living room is equipped with a large flat screen, and a bar. Moving forward, the helm station reveals world-class technology with Roll-Royce Kamewa and MTU commands; high-tech navigation aids and the Vessel’s monitoring system.

This Mangusta 130 Misunderstood is characterized by large outdoor living spaces that defy the usual design of an Open Yacht: both bow and stern have dining and sunbathing areas. Therefore, even in a marina, the Owner can enjoy the simple pleasures of a meal or the sun in complete privacy.

The aft deck is extremely flexible in its use. Complete with external cockpit at the aft with a sunbed that is convertible into a whirlpool, dining area/ living room and large TV that can be hidden as well.

The tender and jet skis are not visible thanks to the side compartments.

Once you close the gangway, you are invaded with the feeling of liberty and pleasure.

The Mangusta 130 Charter yacht Ability (ex Solomia), motor yacht AFRICAN CAT, yacht MAO, M/Y VOYAGE, motor yacht CELCASCOR and yacht VENI VIDI VICI are all examples of Mangusta 130 motor yachts currenlty in charter.
