Adventure support yacht ‘Project Echo’ unveiled

Australian builder Echo Yachts has revealed its latest superyacht concept: An adventure support yacht named ‘PROJECT ECHO’. Incat Crowther have designed her naval architecture, while, Bannenberg & Rowell Design will create her living spaces.

PROJECT ECHO features a catamaran hull, which has seen strong interest on the market from both superyacht owners and captains due to the design’s superior stability, larger living spaces and greater storage capacity.

Designed as a vessel to appeal to the adventure charter market and support vessel markets, ECHO will have an L.O.A. of 50m/164ft and come in under 500GT. Among her features is a Caley A-frame submarine Launch and Recovery System (LARS) and a helicopter landing pad, while launch and retrieval of the craft is provided by a secondary 12 tonne knuckle boom crane. There is also a cargo dead-weight carry capacity of 40 tonnes with an integrated deck cargo transfer rail/tie-down system, dedicated undercroft protection and technical lockers for the submarines.

Echo Yachts also provides customisation options for the technical equipment, layout for amenities and living areas, and interior and exterior finishes. The shipyard will be available at the Monaco Yacht Show to discuss project details further.

Waterline Yacht Design have achieved further shortlist success in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2014, with superyacht ‘Zenith’. Luxury motor yacht Zenith has been nominated for both the ‘Power Yacht over 40m’ Award as well as the ‘Yacht Interior Design’ Award.

Taken place in the lovely Asian yacht charter destination – Thailand from November 22 to 24, the 2013 Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show featured the striking 37-metre power catamaran Phatsara. The largest yacht on display during the event, superyacht Phatsara was launched by the Thai shipyard Silkline International last year. She has been beautifully designed by Incat Crowther, with large family ownership in mind.

Luxury yacht Phatsara offers stylish and comfortable accommodation in 5 well appointed cabins, as well as additional casual berths. Incat Crowther is delighted to announce the launch of the amazing new superyacht Quaranta. Developed by Curvelle and constructed in Turkey, charter yacht Quaranta demonstrates plenty of the advantages of a catamaran platform as applied to a super yacht.

As the vessel’s name suggests, Quaranta yacht offers comparable interior space to a 40 metre monohull yacht, but with lower power requirement, reducing capital and operating costs.

To deliver the project, Curvelle founder Luuk van Zanten assembled a team of experts, including builder Logos Marine and Lila–Lou of London, who designed the Quaranta superyacht’s striking interior and exterior. Incat Crowther contributed naval architectural services including hull form development, arrangement and propulsion engineering.

Luxury yacht Quaranta offers functionality and flexibility, with 6 large cabin spaces located on the main deck. Each of these spaces can be configured as twin or double staterooms, or combined with the adjacent spaces to create 3 large suites.

Crew accommodation and service spaces are provided in the hull and a large lounge and dining space occupies the upper deck aft of the wheelhouse.

Quaranta yacht is powered by a pair of Caterpillar C32 Acert main engines, each producing 1417kW at 2300rpm. The shaft line consists of ZF3050 gearboxes and a pair of fixed-pitch propellers. Incat Crowther has used its extensive experience to engineer a vessel that is optimised for efficient cruising and optimum range.

Curvelle has recently handed over the 34-metre charter yacht Quaranta to a new Owner. Built by CurvelleLogos in Turkey’s Tuzla, Quaranta yacht is a highly innovative catamaran, with naval architecture by Incat Crowther and interior design by Lila-Lou London. Currently the largest carbon hybrid composite power catamaran in the world, Quaranta is now on her initial cruise in the lovely summer yacht charter destination – Turkey. She will make her international premiere at the upcoming Cannes Boat Show.
