The stylish interior of the Cheoy Lee luxury yacht Global 100 offers an amazing selection of woods and furnishings. Her two master staterooms and two VIP suites are spacious and equal in size and all of them boast magnificent views. The crew quarters include a lounge and can also comprise an interfaced multifunction display to track system and navigation data.

The Global 100 yacht has the option of an open or enclosed bridge. The enclosed version not only adds protection from the elements, but creates an airy sky lounge, which leads out on to a sun deck. The 18′ yacht tender resides on the boat’s deck, and there are also full, walkaround side decks.

Remarkably efficient at both upper and lower reaches of her speed range, the 30.48m superyacht Global 100 cruises comfortably, quietly and economically at over 20 knots, with a range in excess of 1000 nautical miles, extending to 2000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

May 18, 2012

A plurality of votes by readers of Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines determined a shortlist of nominees and the eventual winners of the Asia Boating Awards were chosen by an independent panel of industry experts familiar with the Asian and international yachting scene.

On collecting the Best Asian Yacht Club of the Year award on behalf of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, RHKYC General Manager Mark Bovaird said:  “I would like to thank the organisers, Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating, together with all the judges and sponsors for this fantastic award.  We are extremely proud to receive the award and the recognition that goes with it of all the efforts of our Members and Staff who constantly strive to promote and develop our core sports of Sailing and Rowing both within Hong Kong and the International community. Thank you very much indeed.”

Mr. Bovaird was soon called up again to receive the Best Asian Regatta of the Year award for the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s China Coast Regatta.  Regarded as a “sailors’ regatta” due to the physical and tactical demands of the series, the sailing is coupled with plenty of on–shore social events, based at RHKYC’s Kellett Island and Middle Island facilities.

“The China Coast Regatta is one of our signature events and I would like to thank, on behalf of the Club’s members and staff, everyone at Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating and all the judges and sponsors for this award.  In what were extremely difficult wind conditions at the last staging of this event, everyone connected with the Regatta worked tirelessly to produce a competitive and enjoyable event and we are extremely proud to receive this award. We hope to see you all at the next China Coast Regatta this October.“ said Mr. Bovaird.

Riva 75′ motor yacht Venere Super receives the “Best Production Motor Yacht” award

May 17, 2012

In the year when the well known Italian builder Riva, a brand of the Ferretti Group, celebrates its 170th anniversary, their motor yacht Riva 75′ Venere Super wins the prominent “Best Production Motor Yacht” award in the category between 15m and 24m at the Asian Boating Awards 2012. The awards took place in Hong Kong during the opening of the 2012 Gold Coast Boat Show, held last weekend in Hong Kong.

Riva 75' Venere Super yacht

Riva 75' Venere Super yacht

Organised for the first time in 2005 by the “Asia-Pacific Boating” and “China Boating” magazines in 2005, the Asian Boating Awards celebrate every year the best Asian and worldwide boating industry production. The Riva 75’ Venere Super yacht received this prestigious award during the gala reception held in the magnificent Ballroom of the Hong Kong Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The award was collected on behalf of Riva and the Ferretti Group by Daniell Chen, Chief Representative of Ferretti Group Asia Regional Office.

The luxury yacht 75’ Venere Super is a restyling of one of Riva’s most widely appreciated models. Its interiors and exteriors have been entirely renovated to offer more comfort when cruising and optimising onboard space. The yacht is the result of the cooperation between the designers of OID – Officina Italiana Design (the design firm that exclusively designs all Riva yachts), AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology (Ferretti Group’s research and naval design centre), and the team of architects and designers of the Centro Stile Ferrettigroup.

The 75’ Venere Super yacht stands out for her unmistakable style, luxury, fine materials, and utmost care for the tiniest details – all features that have always characterised Riva’s exclusive production, making Riva a true icon in the international boating and luxury sectors.

This important acknowledgement of the motor yacht 75’ Venere Super represents yet another success forRiva at an international level, in the year when the brand is celebrating its 170th anniversary, and following the award received in London by another “family jewel”, the Iseo yacht tender, which was elected “Motor Boat of the Year 2012” in the “Performance & Superboats” category.

45m Granocean motor yacht Monoposto 147 concept with naval architecture by S&S

May 16, 2012

The 45m motor yacht Monoposto 147 is one of the latest concepts of the Hong Kong based Granocean. Designed by the Granocean’s in-house designer Vincent Mausset and boasting naval architecture by renowned Sparkman & Stephens, the Monoposto 147 superyacht is a beautiful long range commuter capable of cruising economically well above the customary speeds of the displacement category.

45m motor yacht Monoposto 147 by Granocean

45m motor yacht Monoposto 147 by Granocean

To achieve this task priority was given to an optimum length to beam ratio, the most efficient hull lines and minimum cross sections allowing to keep high speeds through all sea conditions. These various options also resulted in a weight half of an equivalent length displacement yacht. Her stunning looks purely result from function and not artificial fashion features, nevertheless her long enclosed foredeck and thrown aft superstructure bring this yacht an unavoidable yet unintentional reminiscence of iconic Italian single seaters; long bonnets and aft cockpits. The explanation for this project’s name.

The large foredeck of the Granocean luxury yacht Monoposto 147 features an hydraulically retractable awning over the forward dinning area forming an integral part of the foredeck while underway, alternatively offering a sun shelter when moored or in fair weather. Located underneath, the garage is able to accommodate tenders from 5 to 5.5 meters released through side hinging doors.

LAYOUTS

Beach bar
Starting aft of the accommodations, the Granocean opted for a casual circular bar with fixed stools. Its 180 degrees window bay opens up on a sun deck gradually stepping down towards an hydraulically hinging swim platform. This low level deck allows a natural communication with the ocean and a true feel of speed while watching the wake on motion.

Dining room
Located at full beam and using its entire width, the dining room is not short of other conventional mega yacht’s size. The Granocean divided it in two tables for a total of fourteen guests, allowing two parties to dine separately, however many other options are available including distinct dining and lounge areas. On option “A” and “B” This dining room enjoys a rare feature: two “lazy boys” communicating with the galley at lower deck, one bringing up the food and one taking back the dishes. It allows quick and efficient crew service between galley and dining room while freeing the main deck from a galley. The whole deck space is therefore used for entertainment. Additionally the “lazy boys” serve in continuation the upper lounge and optionally the wheelhouse.

Study – Library
A few steps up portside and forward of the dining room, the Granocean featured a smoking room- study- library. Opening on deck through large windows it enjoys ocean views side and forward. They have experienced that cozy, more private and secluded rooms are often favored by guests over larger spaces. This is just the place for such a lounge. Enjoying an opposite head and shower on starboard and a two meters “L” settee this room will also serve as an occasional cabin for an overnight guest.

Observation Lounge
Right on the forward end of the castle, facing the route, is situated a full beam and 180 degrees observation lounge. It can welcome eight to ten guests seating on convivial arched and raised settees which combined to large tables allow a second dining area. At night this lounge will convert into a TV-Movie room featuring a big screen rising from the forward countertop. Aft and at starboard is located a bar counter with fridge and sink. It allows to close the beach bar and serve this lounge without the crew circulating with plates and drinks. An interesting feature of this lounge is its two opposite access doors on side decks offering perfect ventilation and breeze draft at all time.

Foredeck
If the 45m superyacht Monoposto 147 is different than most others in the size, it largely stems from its hydraulically raised awning covering the huge foredeck. While conventional yachts will entertain aft in full view of dock passerby’s, the Monoposto 147 will party forward, sheltered from the marina crowds. The foredeck features flush folding chairs and dining table sparing fastidious storage for the crew plus a twin Jacuzzi lodged in a typical 1930 commuter style stem cockpit. This area will also feature a built-in bar, a barbecue and an open galley located against the Portuguese bridge.

Entertainment Lounge – Disco
Facing aft on the upper deck this lounge can be considered the equivalent of the rear salons of conventional yachts except that it enjoys an 180 degrees view plus, given its higher location, an uncluttered sight, freed from hull bulwarks. Equipped, with a wet bar and a large countertop forward it also benefits from the two lazy Boys so that meals can be safely delivered from the galley located two decks below. This lounge features a head on starboard. The Granocean opted to show this space with loose furniture which can be moved around to free a dancing floor which itself communicates flush with the upper aft deck.

Wheelhouse
Dedicated to navigation this command station concentrates the usual navigation devices with three captain chairs side by side. Aft of the wheelhouse a raised settee offers a second and higher observation position able to seat a minimum of eight people with large folding table usable as Chart tables or dinette. If folded down, the arrangement converts in a queen size pilot berth. A very rare feature of the Monoposto wheelhouse is its 360 degrees bay window, similar to modern tug boats and extremely friendly for all around crew watch in busy waters. The wheelhouse is surrounded forward by a large Portuguese bridge facilitating docking maneuvers.

Observation deck
Situated at the top of the vessel, above the wheelhouse, is an observation deck with a commanding 360 degree ocean view. This platform, shaped like a fly bridge but without the clutter of instruments will give the owner and his guests a privileged position to savor the experience of “flying” across the ocean. It will also be equipped with a fridge and a wet bar and can of-course double as an ideal spot for sunbathing in complete privacy.

Cabins
The Granocean drew three layout options for the 45m superyacht Monoposto 147.

Option A:
3 cabins.
2 guests’ and one full beam owners’

Option B:
5 cabins
4 guests’ and 1 full beam owners’ at main deck.
Decks layouts combinations thereof could offer:
4 cabins without a dedicated owner’s one or,
4 cabins, 2 guests’ and 2 owners’ with one owners’ at main deck.

Option C:
5 cabins
4 guests’ and one full beam owners’.

All cabins are double and featuring a desk.
Owner’s cabins enjoy a sofa corner with bar.

Crew quarters
On “A” and “B” versions crew quarters will be independently accessible from the guest’s areas. The quarters are featuring a sofa corner with table, fridge and wet bar and:
- 1 twin superposed berths cabin with separate head and shower.
- 1 captain’s cabin with queen size bed plus optional Pullman berth with en suite head – shower.
Both cabins benefiting from a desk.
These crew quarters have direct access to the garage.

On “C” version the galley is substituted by:
2 identical crew cabins at lower deck.
Both cabins benefiting from a desk.
The galley is located at main deck with separate crew mess.

Garage
Featuring a side opening door on portside and 3,000 lbs davits the garage is able to accommodate tenders from 5 to 5.5 meters and is equipped with a working bench.
