Special edition of the Maxi Dolphin’s MD51 Power: GT (Gran Turismo) yacht tender

December 04, 2012

Representing the most recent evolutions of the stylistic and technological innovation of the yachts from the Erbusco shipyard, the GT (Gran Turismo) yacht tender was presented at the 2012 Cannes Boat Show. GT boat was unveiled together with BELLAVISTA yacht tender as two special editions of the Maxi Dolphin MD51 Power boat.

The new designs are a product of the valuable partnership between Dobroserdov Design and Maxi Dolphin. Scale models of the boats were on show at the Maxi Dolphin stand along Quai Saint Pierre (QSP104).

With the MD51 Power GT (Gran Turismo) yacht tender, Maxi Dolphin combines high technology, a characteristic of MD, with an in-depth exploration of style. The result is a motor yacht that stands out for its extremely tenacious lines, reminiscent of racing yachts as the “GT” name suggests (in contrast with the Bellavista variant), which recall the trim of a sports car both in terms of its youthful and “biting” colours and its high-tech materials and layout.

The colours of the GT yacht tender model are metallic: light blue, dark blue and orange, with decorative stripes and circular numbers just like those used by race cars. The wood used is fine teak. The sofas, extremely modern and sophisticated, are covered with quilted leather in sand and orange shades.

The interiors are wooden, painted in a refined ice white shade, with inserts in carbon fibre or titanium. The interior sofas will be in fine Alcantara, either orange or tobacco in colour. The floor will be in leather in a natural hide shade. The hi-tech kitchen surfaces are in brushed stainless steel, as are the basins and the handles. The bathroom surfaces are available in carbon fibre or black glass, all of which references to the best-known racing cars.

Both editions were entirely created using the Sprint technology to obtain extremely robust motor yachts of a contained weight that make it possible to install engines of a lower capacity to those normally used in yachts of this size, thus guaranteeing a notable reduction in consumption: both the BELLAVISTA  and the GT models have two 435hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines.

This revolutionary propulsion system, already used in the MD51 Power yacht tender and the MD53 yacht tender, guarantees a higher top speed, greater acceleration and improved performances with an incredible increase in efficiency compared with inboard engine systems.

Special edition of the Maxi Dolphin’s MD51 Power: BELLAVISTA yacht tender

December 04, 2012

This year’s Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes saw Maxi Dolphin unveil the new special editions of MD51 Power boat: BELLAVISTA yacht tender and GT (Gran Turismo) yacht tender. Bellavista and GT boats represent the most recent evolutions of the stylistic as well as technological innovation of the yachts from the Erbusco shipyard.

The new designs are a product of the valuable partnership between Dobroserdov Design and Maxi Dolphin. Scale models of the boats were on show at the Maxi Dolphin stand along Quai Saint Pierre (QSP104).

The MD51 Power BELLAVISTA yacht tender model is dedicated to the well-known wine cellar of the same name belonging to the Terra Moretti group. Its prestigious grapes produce fine, fragrant and fruity wines, among the best vintages in the world, known for their refined and inimitable flavour.

Realising potential and creating excellence: this is the philosophy of the wine cellar, a combination of unique artisanship and the epitome of “made in Italy”, values shared by Maxi Dolphin and expressed to the full in the MD 51 Power BELLAVISTA yacht tender, a synonym for extreme elegance, excellence and attention to detail.

The incredible elegance of the waterlines of the BELLAVISTA yacht tender, just like the colours and the wood used for its exterior and the general design, recall warm colours and the striking lines of the bottles, the prized wooden barrels, the elegance and tradition of the cellar from which it takes its name.

The layout and the extremely fine materials employed, as well as the top-level craftsmanship, like the MD 51 Power BELLAVISTA yacht tender to a Bentley or a Rolls Royce, true emblems of excellence: the colours of the exterior are metallic, dark red and black. The deck is produced from finest teak while the cushions and the extremely comfortable sofa come in quilted leather in a sophisticated ivory colour.

The interior surfaces are in wood, in precious finishes and essences, painted in oyster white. The interior sofas are in soft leather, available in the variants ivory 2024 or blue 2242. The floor will be in leather in the elegant shades of blue or natural hide, or in peppercorn Loro Piana Byron Plain fabric.

A stunning white marble is used for the kitchen surfaces, a blend of tradition and innovation, while an elegant blue marble is used for the bathroom surfaces. The basins and handles are in brass.

Both the BELLAVISTA and the GT yacht tender editions were entirely created using the Sprint technology to obtain extremely robust motor yachts of a contained weight that make it possible to install engines of a lower capacity to those normally used in yachts of this size, thus guaranteeing a notable reduction in consumption: both the BELLAVISTA  and the GT models have two 435hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines.

This revolutionary propulsion system, already used in the MD51 Power yacht tender and MD53 yacht tender, guarantees a higher top speed, greater acceleration and improved performances with an incredible increase in efficiency compared with inboard engine systems.

Yachting Pages gets feedback from captains and crew

October 05, 2012

In order to get feedback from captains as well as crew on its products and services, Yachting Pages, a top superyacht directory has recently had teams of people walking the docks along the Côte d’Azur.

As well as getting feedback on Yachting Pages, users were happy to provide reviews on other superyacht suppliers and services, both good and bad. According to the team, the results were very interesting.

Earlier this year, Yachting Pages officially launched its website, which now includes the contact details of over 12,000 superyacht businesses. However, it is more than simply a search engine; the website includes news, ports/marinas, events and reviews.

Steve Crowe, managing director of Yachting Pages explained, “The reviews are becoming a popular feature of the website. People often use our directories to find the contact details of businesses they have never used before, so to be able to see what fellow captains and crew have said about them is important to our users.

“They want to use suppliers and services that come recommended and equally, if they have received an excellent service or a poor one, they want an outlet to express those views, which they can do online; it’s a bit like the Tripadvisor for the superyacht industry.

Captains and crew were happy to offer reviews and testimonials to Yachting Pages

“From talking to captains and crew at the Cannes show and Monaco show, and walking the docks in just about every marina throughout the French Riviera, we have now almost doubled the number of business reviews on our website.”

Michelle Williams, digital marketing executive who formed part of the Yachting Pages team explained, “The captains and crew were really passionate about Yachting Pages and some were also extremely animated recording stories of excellent products and services, where businesses had really gone out of their way to help.

“There were also some recollections of poor service, mainly companies being unfriendly and taking a long time to deal with enquiries; anything in between was forgotten.  Only the truly amazing and poor were recalled.”

Neil, second engineer of the 49m motor yacht Audacia, from Monaco was happy to give a five-star review of Palapa Marina and said, “We enjoyed our berth; there are lots of useful services there including the provisioning service, which we found to be one of the best in the Caribbean. They would get anything we asked for as quickly as they could. Highly recommend them!”

Birgit Winter of the 70m charter yacht Sherakahn, from Monaco gave Dolphin Wear five stars and commented, “They have a great understanding of what is needed regarding uniforms for yachts. Very helpful and creative. We would recommend their services.”

Michelle continued, “The reviews were a welcomed feature by everyone we spoke to.  In order for Yachting Pages to develop as a company, we need to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our users and advertisers, and we can only do that by talking to them directly.

“We appreciate feedback and people are happy to leave it. One person commented on the VHF numbers in the printed directories and asked if we could make them stand out more. Another captain asked for more exciting and picturesque front covers. Brilliant, all feedback is welcome.

“We also obtained 50 testimonials, including some video testimonials from happy customers.”

Second stewardess, Jenny Gatenby of the 56m charter yacht Galaxy commented, “Yachting Pages is always helpful to have in the crew mess for easy access to information. It has plenty of details on all subjects in yachting. I would say it is a must have.”

Bosun, Mark of the 30m luxury charter yacht La Mascarade explained, “Yachting Pages is a useful publication; it is good for shipyards, marinas and suppliers and when you’re up against it on charter. It is a great reference.”

Yachting Pages annual printed directory is a highly anticipated publication in the superyacht industry and its website is the online search engine for all things yachting.
