CRN and RIVA as part of ‘Finest Art on Water’ exhibition by Christian Jankowski at CCA in Warsaw

June 07, 2013

The CRN shipyard and Riva, two prestigious yachting brands of the Ferretti Group, will be exhibited as part of a selection of works from the Berlin-based artist Christian Jankowski, at an exhibition called Heavyweight History. The display will take place at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Ujazdowski Castle, in Warsaw. Curated by Ewa Gorzadek, ‘The Finest Art on Water’ will be part of the artist’s presentation of pieces created during 1992 – 2012.

Christian Jankowski and Luca Boldrini

Jankowski aims to engage directly with the idea of sales and exchange and the value of luxury goods. The Finest Art on Water is not only a yacht but also an artwork; an exclusive, ready-made art piece that implicates, involves and engages the spectator. According to Jankowski, “The yacht is the perfect sculpture, a perfect self-contained vessel of information. When you see the yachts lined up at Venice it is an exhibition in itself.”

Visitors to the installation will play the part of prospective buyers, as they view the interior and listen to the description of the boat. Jankowski’s work encompasses film, video and performance in which, consciously or subconsciously, viewers become active participants.

Jankowski collaborated with yacht builders CRN, featuring a 68m superyacht, whose exteriors and interiors lines were designed by Officina Italiana Design, and have been produced by the shipyard in the contemporary artwork. The Aquariva Cento, a limited edition boat, also designed by Officina Italiana Design, that is available as a tender for CRN superyachts, will also be sculpturally displayed as part of the installation, simultaneously challenging an art audience and yacht lovers alike.

“Following the success of Frieze in 2011, we are really excited to be showcasing our collaboration once again at Christian Jankowski’s exhibition and to have the opportunity to engage with people in this unique way. Our yachts combine cutting edge technology with stunning designs, premium materials and the finest craftsmanship. This project with Christian Jankowski allows us to work in an environment which transcends a yacht from an object to a piece of art,” comments Luca Boldrini, CRN Sales & Marketing Director.

CRN specialises in the construction of fully customised steel and aluminium displacement megayachts ranging from 40 to 90 metres, and a displacement line made of composite (43 metres long CRN Navetta 43).  This is an important year for CRN, celebrating its 50th Anniversary and marking its resilience and success despite its position in a complex market, which has seen the loss of many established brands. Beginning of May saw the CRN launch the 8th Navetta 43 Lady Genyr yacht.

Ferretti Group attending Qingdao Boat Show 2013 with Pershing 82′ Yacht and Aquariva Super yacht tender on display

May 23, 2013

The Ferretti Group, one of the world leaders in the design, building as well as sale of motor yachts, with an amazing portfolio of some of the most exclusive and prominent brands worldwide, concludes its “tour” of the top boating and luxury shows in China: after Hainan and Shanghai, the Group is now participating in the Qingdao International Boat Show 2013, running at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center from 23 to 26 May. The company is showcasing two of the most prominent models in its fleet: Aquariva Super yacht tender for the Riva brand, a 33 footer featuring soft and stylish lines, and the new motor yacht Pershing 82’, representing the Pershing brand, characterized by an even more streamlined and aggressive profile.

Taking part in these three important spring events in China has allowed the Ferretti Group to present its yachts at best in this region too – true works of art that epitomise the Group’s outstanding production skills and the entirely made-in-Italy process that has always characterised all the Group’s brands.

During the Qingdao Show a press conference was also held by Ferruccio Rossi, Ferretti Group’s CEO, and Mauro Frattesi, President and CEO of Ferretti Group Asia Pacific, who illustrated the Group’s development guidelines for the next few years to the owners and media of Northern China, where Qingdao is located. Also thanks to its strategic partnership with the Weichai Group, the Ferretti Group is indeed aiming to expand further in the entire Asia Pacific area – an important market for the future growth of the boating business -, with a special focus on Greater China, Thailand, Australia and Singapore.

In order to further develop in this region the Ferretti Group has thus decided to strengthen its presence in the area by establishing its subsidiary Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Ltd., based in Hong Kong. In 2013 the Group will also aim to create a strong local team as well as to open a series of commercial offices and show rooms in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Qingdao, Xamien and Sanya.

Just on the occasion of the first participation in a Chinese show of the Aquariva Super (the first model to be launched since Riva joined the Ferretti Group and the symbol of this brand), the exclusive book published early in 2013 and dedicated to Riva’s 170th anniversary was presented to a large number of guests representing the Chinese business world and to the local media. The book was introduced by its author and publisher, journalist Riccardo Sassoli.

“We are concluding our tour in China and are extremely satisfied with the results we have achieved, fully aware of the great distance we have covered so far, but also of the long way that still lies ahead of us. Our stands at the various shows we have taken part in have been visited by a large public, made up of pleasure boating enthusiasts, not only from China, but from all over the world, as well as by the media and by our partners, who wanted to show their interest towards a sector that is now gaining importance in this part of the world too”, stated Ferretti Group’s CEO Ferruccio Rossi.

“This is why our objective over the next few years will be to meet at best these expectations and the great interest we have perceived by producing more and more innovative models, designed taking into consideration the specific needs of this region, which is playing an increasingly important role for the medium-long term global development of the boating sector”.

THE NEW MODELS BEING PRESENTED AT THE QINGDAO INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2013

PERSHING 82’
Classy style and sporty features blend together to further boost the pleasure of yachting: superyacht Pershing 82’, the new model by Pershing created by Fulvio De Simoni in cooperation with AYTD and the Ferretti Group’s team of architects and designers, is 24.97 metres long, 5.50 metres wide, and guarantees excellent performances at sea, reaching a maximum speed of 45 knots and a range of 300 nautical miles thanks to two powerful MTU 16V M93 2435 mhp (1792 kW) engines and Searex SR140S drives with Rolla surface propellers.

Pershing 82′ yacht stands out for two main distinguishing features: the sundeck with retractable helm station, which makes the yacht look even more slender and offers an unprecedented height, and the carbon fibre staircase that can be automatically lowered into the cockpit by means of an electro-hydraulic control system and then retracted upwards when it is no longer needed. Liveability means contemporary style on this yacht, both in the standard version (4 cabins) and in the optional one (3 guest cabins and lounge-cinema room).

AQUARIVA SUPER
Aquariva has become the symbol of Riva’s style and contemporary elegance and successfully established its presence on all continents, just as the legendary Aquarama – which is now a cult-yacht for collectors all over the world – had done in the past. Aquariva Super is the result of the cooperation between Officina Italiana Design, the design firm that “signs” all Riva yachts, and the Ferretti Group’s team of engineers and designers.

The soft, stylish lines of this 33 footer convey the unique “taste” of tradition, and the fine woods used for the deck – mahogany with maple engravings – on this timeless model further increase the pleasure of yachting while ensuring unmatched comfort and emotions. The stainless steel details, like the air intake, are true design masterpieces; the bow is hand-shaped on every single yacht. The search light is a typical element on Riva yachts and consists of more than 200 components. The mahogany deck with solid maple engravings is protected by 18 layers of paint.

The electronic two-speed automatic transmission improves minimum cruising speed acceleration and optimises maximum speed performances. This innovative electronic two-speed transmission, which comes standard on this model, reveals all the passion and strength of the two powerful 380 hp Yanmar engines, resulting in outstanding performances: a maximum speed of 41 knots and a range of 150 miles at cruising speed.

Having just celebrated its 170th anniversary, Riva, part of the Ferretti Group, is currently present at the Qingdao Boat Show as one of the key exhibitors, with a representative model, Aquariva Super yacht tender, on display. Aquariva Super yacht tender, which represents the most natural evolution of Riva style from past to present, has been celebrated with a real unveiling as a star at the Ferretti Group booth.

With its modern elegance and style, Aquariva Super has confirmed its success on all continents, just as the legendary Aquarama superyacht tender – now a cult yacht for collectors all over the world – did a few decades ago.

Aquariva Super is the result of a close working relationship between Officina Italiana Design, the studio that exclusively designs all yachts in the Riva range and the team of engineers and designers of the Ferretti Group.

“After the establishment of the Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Ltd., based in Hong Kong, and the participation at Hainan Rendez-Vous and China International Boat Show in Shanghai, we are very proud to continue our intense program of participation in major Asia Pacific events unveiling at the Qingdao Boat Show, Aquariva Super, the real ambassador of Riva all over the world,” said Ferruccio Rossi, Ferretti Group CEO.

Its soft, elegant lines reflect a taste for tradition, the valuable, beautifully carved wooden decks and leather trimmings of the dashboard and helm highlight the pleasure of sailing in a timeless classic offering unique, incomparable emotions and comfort.

The stainless steel details are master pieces of design: the air intake, the bow nose is hand-moulded on each boat. The search light is a hallmark of Riva made up of more than 200 parts. The mahogany deck realized with maple inserts obtained from solid wood is protected by 18 hands of varnish.

The automatic gear box with the electronic 2-speed control improves the acceleration at lower speed, cruise speed and optimizes the top speed.

The innovative, electronically-controlled, two speed gearbox reveals all the gritty passion of the two powerful 380 hp Yanmar motors featuring an exceptional performance: 41 knots of maximum speed and 36 of cruising speed.

May 17, 2013

The brand-new 10th hull of motor yacht Pershing 115′ series has been recently launched at Marina dei Cesari, in Fano, Italy. The Pershing 115′#10 yacht represents the flagship of Pershing, a yard amongst the world’s top builders of high performance open motor yachts from 15 to 35 metres.

The new launch represents an important result for the historic seat of the brand, the Mondolfo shipyard: the maxi yacht of 35 metres, representing the brand at its best, is characterized by refinement and performance. As a mark of the tradition which has made Pershing 115′ yacht a timeless model, hull number 10 is characterized by sinuous, but decisive external lines with extraordinary performance, thanks to the collaboration between the architect Fulvio De Simoni, AYTD – Advanced Yacht Technology & Design – and the team of engineers and designers of the Ferretti Group.

Among the technological innovations it is worth mentioning in particular the highly innovative on board entertainment and domotics system, which can manage the audio, video and lighting systems directly from connected Apple devices – such as the iPad and the iPhone – and also makes it possible to monitor the utilities and the systems on board.

Luxury yacht Pershing 115′#10 is a unique yacht of her own kind and it is worth noting the innovative slide in the stern garage that facilitates launching manoeuvres and the storage of a tender and the new type of opening from the bow hangar, which is in line with the family feeling of the Pershing ships: characteristics that contribute to making this new 115′ a perfect balance between the traditional elements and some of the new innovations of the most recent models.

Pershing 115′#10 yacht has a layout with four cabins (an Owner’s suite and three guest cabins), which can host a total of ten people, and three crew cabins with five beds. A distinctive feature of every Pershing 115′ is the personalisation that contributes to making the flagship of the fleet a unique product, varying from one model to another and which can be customized according to the Owner’s needs.

The peculiarity of this model is the elegance that distinguishes its interior design, characterized by the essence of a texture with grey tones, which combines well with the classic metallic outdoor areas and the hull, creating continuity among the various areas of the yacht. Distinctive are also the numerous Alcantara™ fittings, with sandy and ecru tones, present in the roof, wall and door finishes, which make Pershing 115#10 yacht a vessel with an extremely contemporary style.

The boat is motorized by two MTU 3510 mhp engines combined with the applied thrust of two Kamewa hydro-jets.

Nada Serafini, Sales Manager EMEA of Pershing, expressed the enthusiasm of the brand and the Ferretti Group: “The launching of hull number 10 of the fleet flagship is for all of us a reason for great pride and it confirms the ability of the brand to make more and more unique and strongly avant-garde products. A boat that is tailor-made for the ship owner, the perfect expression of the values that distinguish the brand, namely, innovation, comfort, performance, design and class, with a spirit that is always oriented towards the future and the next challenge.”

“After the establishment of the Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Ltd., based in Hong Kong, and the participation at Hainan Rendez-Vous and China International Boat Show in Shanghai, we are very proud to continue our intense program of participation in major Asia Pacific events unveiling at the Singapore Yacht Show, 75′ Venere Super, one of the top models of Riva, iconic brand in international yachting and symbol of Made in Italy all over the world” said Alessandro Tirelli, Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Sales Director.

75’ Venere Super yacht, latest edition of 75’ Venere, showcases innovative changes to the space and furnishings. Developed by Officina Italiana Design – the exclusive designer of all the yachts in the Riva range – in cooperation with the  team of Ferretti Group’s naval engineers and architects – have been renewed in the interiors and exteriors, with the perfection and painstaking care over detail which are typical to Riva, in order to offer greater comfort during cruising and optimize space.

The flybridge of the new 75’ Venere Super yacht has been enriched with a hard top featuring an elegant, aerodynamic line and a comfortable, six seater sofa ensuring the Owner’s total ease of use. The stern opens out onto a spacious swim platform, the best solution for free time and practicing water sports.

A large window fitted in the hull provides an unusual, very pleasant view of the surface of the water, ensuring more natural light for the guest cabins especially the full-beam Master cabin. The latter features a study area, vanity unit with foldaway pouf, LCD television and walk-in closet. Each cabin has direct access to an en-suite head, and the guest cabins have twin beds that can be pushed together to make one if necessary.

The interior furnishings of luxury yacht Riva 75′ Venere Super have also been altered and improved in the Super version, focusing on a simple, refined style. The use of bleached oak with Africa and sand coloured leather, white lacquer and new colouring of the galley and helm station make the various areas even more elegant and refined.

Removing the stairway from the salon to the flybridge has made it possible to extend the flybridge sundeck and, below deck, to create a more functional galley with new units and a side-by-side fridge-freezer.

Said removal has also made it possible to insert a mirror wall overlooking the salon, which gives this area more depth. The partition wall between the helm station and dinette, now equipped with new motorised leather Venetian blinds, plays on light and depth thanks to the use of steel details and a mirror fitted on the door. Moreover, the new colouring of the leather in the dinette, now also on the ceiling, gives the area a completely different impact to that of the previous version. Another innovation is a new hatchway that allows the easy transfer of plates and food between the galley and the more formal dining area.

As for the serving hatch, when open onto the galley it is set facing the day opening, creating a display case effect. When closed, it separates the dinette area from the galley, guaranteeing Owners and guests complete privacy.

The colour of the hull of the 75′ motor yacht Venere Super by Riva is Roman Bronze and the superstructure Riva Cream.

The standard version of the yacht features twin MTU 10V 2000 M93, power 1524 mhp, which drive her to a top speed of 31,5 knots and a cruise speed of 28 knots. The optional version features twin MTU 10V 2000 M94 power 1623 mhp, delivering a top speed of 32,5 knots and a cruise speed of 29 knots.

Motor Yacht Navetta 33 Crescendo is the result of the close cooperation between Studio Zuccon International Project and the AYTD – Advanced Yacht Technology & Design, the Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre. Its classical outer lines harmoniously blend with the contemporary design of the interiors, which can be fully customised to the Owner’s taste. Indeed, just like on the entire Ferretti Custom Line range, every non-structural detail, such as furniture and furnishings, fabrics, and décor, can be modified to meet the requirements of the Owner who, supported by Gruppo Ferretti’s architects and designers, can choose from among the best Italian and international companies to create a truly “tailor-made” yacht. Plenty of natural light brightens the spacious interiors filtering through the large glazing which makes the yacht’s profile truly unmistakable and reflects this model’s strong personality:  Navetta 33 Crescendo yacht stands out in its segment for its 3 full decks perfectly integrated into the line of the yacht, for an innovative new feature – a large sundeck -, as well as for a series of design solutions aiming to let its guests really enjoy the emotion of direct contact with the sea.

On the main deck, the large salon features a system of sliding glazed doors on the starboard broadside, with a collapsible gunwale which minimises any existing visual and physical barriers between the yacht and the sea.

The full-beam Owner suite is located at bow, in a privileged position. Onboard guest-and-crew circulation routes have been skilfully separated by making the crew area directly accessible from the galley. The crew area is completely separated from the guest cabins located on the lower deck, which are all fitted with large open view windows that characterise the profile of the hull also from the outside.

Also deserving mention are the extraordinary innovations found in the upper part of the yacht, from the dining area on the upper deck – which features an original system of circular sliding doors resulting in a very flexible layout and interior space division – to the restyled sundeck.

This area is divided into a working zone furnished with a writing desk with an Asterix model cream-shade leather armchair by Poltrona Frau and a large walk-in wardrobe located to starboard. A second working zone has been obtained along the left broadside, and features a small vanity set and a cream leather seat.

The spacious bathroom is dominated by two types of marble which alternate in the shower walls, just like in all other heads on this Navetta, as well as by lacquered surfaces. The large custom-made shower box has been fitted, upon request by the Owner, with two shower heads and two benches, and features Grohe taps and Gedy accessories, both belonging to the Veris line.

Another distinctive element shared by all heads on this Navetta are the Corian washbasins which differ from previous models for their curved lines – a small but significant detail that highlights Ferretti Custom Line’s will to offer the utmost onboard safety and comfort by paying attention to the very tiniest details.

Astern are the other two mirroring guest cabins, both furnished with a double bed, which, in the one on the left, as requested by the Owner, can be split into two twin beds. All three cabins enjoy a wonderful view on the sea thanks to large open-view windows and are fitted with ensuite bathroom with separate shower and a walk-in wardrobe.

At the bow are the crew quarters, completely separated from the guest area. The laundry area can be found on the left and a hostess cabin on the right. Further on, there are two twin cabins with bunk beds and head. The Captain’s cabin, featuring a private head and shower, is located at the extreme bow in a slightly raised position.

It is divided into the helm station, the living and dining areas, and an open-air section. The spacious helm station is furnished with two pilot seats, a charting area, and a small sofa; a door separates it from the guest area. Upon request by the Owner, a micro-lift has been installed allowing to serve meals in this area by lifting the dishes directly from the galley. The pilot area has been completed with two outdoor steering stations on both sides, making manoeuvres even smoother.

The living area is extremely bright thanks to the continuous glazing and is furnished with a custom-made sofa in American fabric, an Axis coffee table by Matteo Grassi in clay-shade leather, and a small Gaggenau cellar unit.

The great innovation on this yacht, however, is the dining area, which features a system of 4 curved sliding doors from bow to stern making it possible to create different layouts in this area. Inside this original, circular, highly versatile lunch area – which can be connected to or separated from the living and outdoor areas or even connected to both to create one single, charming open space – there is a large round, custom-made table which can seat up to 8 people and can be extended depending on the number of guests. Featuring a teak top and a base lined in leather, this table has been matched with cream-shade leather Skip chairs by Bonaldo, some with armrests, some without.

From the dining room it is possible to reach the outdoor area, furnished with a Flow model sofa in fabric by Manutti and equipped with a steel and glass lobster tank for storing freshly caught fish. This area can also be customised with freestanding furnishings, depending on the Owner’s taste. Further astern there is room for the tender, complete with a davit.

SUNDECK AND BOW

The sundeck, which can be reached by means of a stairway located on the left towards the stern on the upper deck, has been conceived to offer guests a “private” sunbathing area. A large circular Jacuzzi tub is located in the middle, while a bar unit, an icemaker, a fridge, and a grill have been fitted in a unit underneath the mast, just like the shower. A large sundeck is located forward, whilst astern the area used for sunbathing is furnished with 3 Ego Paris, Kube Collection sun loungers that can be converted into armchairs, fitted with white cushions and armrests that can also be used as practical tables. This area, which can be furnished according to the Owner’s tastes, can become another storage for water toys.

There are other relaxation areas on the deckhouse, at the bow, where two sun pads allow to enjoy the sun in the utmost privacy.

TECHNOLOGY AND PERFORMANCES

Navetta 33 Crescendo can be fitted either with twin MAN V12 Common Rail 1400Mhp at 2100rpm engines in the standard version or, upon request, with twin MAN V12 1550Mhp engines. Performances will be a top speed of 17 and 20 knots and a cruising speed between 15 and 16 knots, respectively, depending on the type of engines installed.

The semi-planing hull allows not only to reach high top speeds, but also to enjoy long range cruises enjoying the utmost comfort, excellent seaworthiness, and optimised consumption values at transfer speeds between 10 and 13 knots. For example, at a speed of 10 knots the maximum range will be approximately 2,300 nautical miles.

Three Mitsubishi ARG (Anti Rolling Gyro) stabilisers, which come standard on Ferretti Custom Line’s yachts, reduce rolling by over 50%.

This yacht is also fitted with a fully independent dual navigation system with 3D functions and an optional Satellite Photofusion function. The “FORWARD LOOKING” sonar can also be found onboard this unit, a system that sounds the sea bottom in front of the bow and therefore allows to cruise safely even in less familiar waters, near coral reefs and in shallow water with surfacing rocks.

This yacht also responds to the increasing demand for on-board infotainment, featuring Seamphony’s Audio-Video Media Server entertainment system, integrated with the OPEN SEA V-SAT broadband web connection module.

The onboard CCTV system allows to get a view of the entire yacht, even under the propellers, thanks to two underwater cameras installed on the hull and to a FLIR thermal imaging camera during night cruising. Moreover, the yacht features innovative instrumentation which includes the new Furla.NET monitoring and control system through which users can monitor and manage utilities, services, and alarms simply and immediately using a touch screen. This solution makes it even easier for the crew to access on-board systems, increasing comfort and safety. The helm station also includes six large displays with glass finish and LED technology for all navigation, automation and CCTV systems.

This continuity shows the commitment and the productive capacity of the Shipyard that has shown itself capable of combining innovation and tradition, creating tailor-made products for each Client”.

M/Y CRN NAVETTA 43 “LADY GENYR” yacht of 43 METRES

The megayacht Lady Genyr is a displacement Navetta made of composite material, entirely Made in Italy and the suppliers involved were mainly local, as in all other CRN products.

The external shape and the internal layout of the megayacht were designed by the architects of Studio Zuccon International Project, while CRN Naval Engineering has taken care of the naval project and the architects of the CRN office for Interior design found solutions for the interiors and the furnishing.

The pleasure ship, 43 metres long and 8.6 wide, can comfortably host 10 passengers in five cabins (an Owner’s suite + four VIP cabins) and 9 crew members and it can sail in absolute comfort at a top speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots, with its 2 Caterpillar C32-C engines. It has a range of about 3,800 miles at 11 knots, therefore, perfectly capable of sailing across the ocean.

With its four decks and hull with bulbous, motor yacht Lady Genyr, when compared to the other megayachts of the Navetta 43 line, has a new layout of the sun deck, characterized by even wider spaces. Among its special features is the internal lift linking the decks, expressly requested by the Owner.

A distinctive feature of this vessel, like on most other ships of the CRN fleet, is the terrace of the Owner’s suite which is set up as a “balcony” with coffee tables and armchairs for breakfast, to be enjoyed while sailing.

In the interior spaces, classic timeless features prevail, giving it a design of sharp elegance.

It is worth noting the large area set up as a fitness area at the stern, equipped with Technogym and Kinesis equipment, practically overlooking the beach by the sea, a distinctive feature of CRN and a true “must have” for the clients, who will be able to experience a unique way of enjoying close contact with the sea, in a very direct manner.

The vessel is also equipped with by “myOlos”, an integrated entertainment, info and domotics system, developed by the partnership among CRN, Videoworks and Intel to obtain on board functionality and a more user-friendly technology. The system allows you to manage easily all the entertainment – including audio and video on demand – air conditioning, video-surveillance, light and curtain control, just by using an iPad.

Once launched, the luxury yacht Lady Genyr will remain at the shipyard for the interiors to be completed: the final delivery to the Owner will take place in July.

Seen for the first time onboard a yacht, the floodable garage on the lower deck is an innovative engineering solution created by the CRN Shipyard. Operated hydraulically, the garage can dry out in 3 minutes and is lit by underwater lights for a dramatic effect. Next to the floating garage, which can also be used as a swimming pool, is the beach club. A stern hatch that turns into a large beach platform by the sea, the beach clubs offers a sunny terrace and allows safe and easy access into the ocean.
