Hainan Rendez-Vous is a revolutionary event that combines China‘s largest business jet show, leading yacht show and luxury property and lifestyle showcase in one.

Back from the show, Cyril Le Sourd, sales & marketing manager at CMN Yachts comments “Luxury Lifestyle is the main purpose of this show, and superyachts are just one element of that, that’s what makes this show so different from other shows we visit. Large superyachts are completely new to this market, so we are all here to help educate the market, as well as learn more about it ourselves.”

Silverlining new superyacht furniture collection preview at Monaco Yacht Show

September 21, 2011

Silverlining is previewing a collection of furniture pieces for superyachts at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show. Silverlining furniture pieces show a radical departure from traditional preconceptions of what the luxury furniture on yachts should look like (think high gloss ebony). The superyacht collection explores the relationship between design and craftsmanship in the 21st century, pushing the boundaries of engineering and furniture making and placing the experiences of a modern person at the centre of design.

After the official launch at the Monaco Yacht Show, the collection will be exhibited in London during the Frieze week in October. The collection consists of six pieces and includes tables, cabinets, seating and a desk.

Silverlining approached four well respected superyacht designers in 2009 including Bannenberg & Rowell Design, Eidsgaard Design, Michael Leach Design and Remi Tessier. The idea was to explore the future of yacht interiors together.

Mark Boddington, Silverlining’s founder and director commented “We wanted to inspire the superyacht world and explore where the future of interiors is heading, and we wanted to lead that change.”

Silverlining’s progressive collaborations is already be realized onboard megayacht Palladium and superyacht Pacific, with further projects both on superyachts and on land currently  in development in the Silverlining workshops. Innovation is one of the company’s core values and the team is constantly developing new ideas, putting the modern superyacht owner at the center of design.

After 14 years exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show Silverlining is relocating to the Darse Nord air-conditioned tent at a new large stand QD3 next to the builders’ gallery.

The 2011 Monaco Yacht Show takes place from 21st-25th September at Port Hercules – Boulevard Albert 1er – Principality of Monaco

Windy Boats and Eidsgaard Design partner on a new generation of boat interiors

April 13, 2011

Windy Boats of Norway has teamed up with renowned luxury yacht and private jet interior designer, Eidsgaard Design (EDL), on a stunning new interior vision for its latest generation of boats.

Eidsgaard Design (EDL) has been charged with creating a distinctive new Windy interior aesthetic combining contemporary design and fine craftsmanship with clean lines and luxurious detailing. The first boats to feature the new interior will be the all-new Windy 31 Zonda weekender, the 40 Maestro high-performance family cruiser and the award-winning 44 Chinook hard-top sports cruiser.

Windy CEO Knut Heiberg-Andersen said some partnerships were just “meant to be”.

“I was on the point of contacting Peder Eidsgaard to discuss working together, when he called me out of the blue,” Heiberg-Andersen said.

“I love his architectural approach to design, which makes every item of furniture beautiful in itself, while using subtle detailing to tie it in with its surroundings… the result is always exciting to look at, yet at the same time, balanced and harmonious.

“Together I am confident that we can create something really special.”

The design concepts for the new interiors combine clean, neutral backgrounds with rich textile accents, walnut floor and finishes, and signature stainless steel details.

Graaf Marine director Rob de Graaf feels this collaboration really underlines the level of quality and luxury delivered by Windy Boats.

“Windy Boats look great, feel great, are finished immaculately and perform beautifully,” Mr de Graaf said.

“Bringing in an award-winning design firm to further enhance the level of quality and luxury is more evidence of Windy’s target of securing the top spot in the luxury sports cruiser sector.”

The first Windy 31 Zonda with EDL interior will be available from April. The new look Windy 40 Maestro and Windy 44 Chinook will be available autumn 2011. Plans are also underway to transform the Windy 48 Triton, 52 Xanthos and 53 Balios.

London-based EDL specialises in the exterior and interior design of yachts and private jets. Established in 2005, its directors share over 30 years combined yacht design experience. The company was named Newcomer of the Year in the 2009 Superyachts Awards. Its most recent project – for which Eidsgaard Design is responsible for exterior and interior design, as well its 30 foot custom tender – is the 77.7m superyacht TANGO  to be delivered by Feadship  this summer.

Windy Boats are imported exclusively into Australia  by Graaf Marine. Windy Boats, ranging from 25’ to 58’, are hand-built, luxury sports cruisers of the highest calibre built in Norway and Sweden

Motor Yacht Tango launched by Feadship – A 77m Feadship Superyacht

March 28, 2011

Royal Van Lent launched motor yacht Tango, hull #802, a giant 77.70-metre Feadship on Saturday 26 March 2011 at the Royal Van Lent yard. The 77.7m Feadship Tango has a very characteristic exterior styling, including a daring combination of a white hull with a metallic grey and blue superstructure.

Feadship Koninklijke De Vries also launched the 81m Motor Yacht AIR at their Aalsmeer shipyard in Holland on the same day.  The 81-metre Air Yacht instantly becomes the largest Feadship available for charter in the world as well as being the largest yacht built by the De Vries Aalsmeer yard to date.

Both the new Feadships are full-custom superyachts built for owners with very distinctive tastes. “It is interesting to note that while other major superyacht yards are increasingly focusing on semi-custom series yachts, Feadship continues to lead the way in bespoke and entirely unique projects,” comments Francis Vermeer, head of marketing at Feadship.

“Moreover, both Feadship yards have a very healthy portfolio for the coming years with ten superyachts currently under construction ranging from 45 metres up to the latest Royal Van Lent order of 101.50 metres in length.”

Motor yacht Tango – Hull 802

The historic day of launches began with a confidential project at Royal Van Lent. “We are always delighted to show the world our new yachts, and therefore are pleased that we are allowed to disclose some information about this exceptional yacht,” says Vermeer.

Hull #802, now known as yacht Tango is a textbook example of the many facets involved in a custom yacht-building project. An excellent team spirit is essential and the Royal Van Lent yard worked seamlessly with Eidsgaard Design, Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects and Edmiston & Company. The result is an exceptionally creative and innovative yacht in terms of both the exterior profile and the interior styling and layout. The yacht has a contemporary two-tone exterior: Her muscular looks are combined with signature lines that bring additional elegance to the profile.

Special features of the interior of Feadship superyacht Tango include a full beam main lounge, the location of guest accommodation on the main deck, plus a private owners’ deck. A contra flow swimming pool and a spacious sun deck with outdoor cinema are among the superlative al fresco facilities.

The Tango Yacht  also pushes the window in terms of her engineering. Propelled by four engines, the yacht is capable of reaching some 21 knots. Extensive model tests and CFD program development were required to achieve this performance.
