September 14, 2012

The prominent Dutch luxury yacht builder, Jongert Yachts, is currently attending this year’s Cannes International Boat Show. Subsequently, the company will be present at the Monaco Yacht Show, starting next week. As the show in Monaco is the largest event of its kind, it is the perfect time for Jongert to reveal its latest yacht designs.

This year in Monaco, Jongert will be presenting the new Jongert Sailing Performance line, starting with the semi – custom performance sailing yacht 3200P. She seamlessly follows the successful Jongert strategy with a lines plan from Doug Peterson and interior & exterior styling from the boards of Rhoades Young.

For the moment, Jongert has to keep the visuals of the 3200P superyacht under embargo until the Monaco show starts on Wednesday 19, promising though that a visit to their stand at QE3 will be well worth.

Four clear lines
Jongert Yachts is giving their current yacht range a total overhaul in order to set out four clear lines:
- Performance oriented sailing yachts: Based upon our successful Modern Line, the new P Line yachts will compete very well in regattas while retaining the distinctive Jongert traits of comfort, reliability and quality.
- Cruising oriented sailing yachts: Taking the successful Traditional Line as its template, the new Cruiser Line will offer a wealth of interior space onboard exceptionally comfortable bluewater yachts.

Whether one is looking for the ultimate Arctic experience or simply heading for the joys of the Med, these long-distance cruisers offer all he needs and more.

While renowned for their passion for sailing yachts, Jongert decided to also start creating motoryachts back in 2003. This additional portfolio makes Jongert a stronger, all-round brand within two distinctive motoryacht lines:
- Performance oriented motoryacht: Following the principle of the performance sailing yachts, these fast semi-displacement yachts combine a luxurious interior with a sleek and aggressive exterior profile. This range has been designed by Guido de Groot and comprises the 3900MY superyacht Lucia M, 4200MY and luxury yacht 500LE
- Cruising oriented motoryachts: Jongert is currently developing a range of cruising yachts in 40 and 46-metre versions in partnership with Mulder Design. These ocean-going motoryachts offer maximum comfort and luxury.

Below is a choice of the splendid charter yachts built by Jongert.

Sailing yacht ITHAKA – the latest Jongert 2700M superyacht at the Monaco Yacht Show

August 09, 2012

Luxury sailing yacht ITHAKA, the youngest Jongert sailing yacht currently for sale and the fifth model of Jongert’s successful semi-custom line 2700M, will be presented throughout the Monaco Yacht Show 2012.  The ITHAKA sailing yacht was launched in 2007, measures 26,70m (87,6 ft) in length and provides plenty of space and volume for a luxurious interior layout, while still providing great sailing performance.

In comparison to her forerunners, the fifth of the highly successful Jongert 27000M semi-custom design series, yacht ITHAKA features some new and very interesting details. Doug Peterson was responsible for the lines plan and redesigned the whole aft deck and the two outside steering positions to offer a lot more open space for open-air dining and sunbathing in the cockpit. The performance of the yacht was also further improved by a new keel and rudder design.

S/Y ITHAKA has a carbon mast and her sail handling is easy even with small crew thanks to a well thought-out deck layout including captive winches, a full set of NORTH SAIL3DL sails and the 3.05m wing keel.

The general layout of the ITHAKA superyacht was kept similar to the one of the already existing Jongert 2700M’s, although the interior was given a more modern pear wood design to create a light atmosphere. The yacht ITHAKA is able to accommodate up to 6 guests and 3 crew in 3 guest cabins and 2 crew cabins. This Jongert sailing yacht was designed as much for racing as it is for comfortable cruising and would make a great charter yacht.

The Dutch flagged ITHAKA demonstrated superior performance at the Club Yachting Life Regatta 2012 around Menorca this June where she came in second in her class after a close neck-to-neck race.
