Yellowbrick tracking devices enable online supporters to follow real-time position progress of individuals taking part in adventurous treks, trans-ocean yacht races and many other ventures into areas where conventional communication devices will not work. The highly successful Yellowbrick Standard and Yellowbrick MAX trackers have been developed to produce Yellowbrick 3; in addition to reporting its exact GPS position at pre-set time intervals, Yellowbrick 3 also offers a basic messaging function, accessed via the 4-button keypad and bright OLED screen.

This compact and rugged device can also offer advanced messaging when linked via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet to send more complex email messages, SMS, Twitter or Facebook updates – no matter where you are in the world. When integrated with Yellowbrick’s online position tracker portal, this advanced functionality offers a complete media information package for online spectators of races and challenges.

As an additional safety feature, Yellowbrick 3 incorporates an alert button which, when pressed, sends a message back to the user’s nominated contacts via email and/or SMS together with the Yellowbrick’s precise location. With its own internal battery, Yellowbrick 3 is entirely self-powered, lasting up to 12 months or 2000 transmissions on a single charge.

Nick Farrell, Director of Yellowbrick, says; “We are very excited to launch Yellowbrick 3, which offers the most advanced functionality yet from a tracking device and brings new elements to online tracking in remote areas. We have already trialed the Yellowbrick 3 at some key recent events, and have had excellent feedback on its performance from event organisers. The aim was to develop a feature-packed product at a more realistic price point for consumers and corporates alike, and I’m pleased to say we’ve achieved that!”

Yellowbrick 3 is available now for rental in volumes from one to 100 to 500, and will be available from the end of September for purchase by corporate companies and event organisers in any quantity. Yellowbrick offers a fully professional service and reliable product delivery, with support from its expert technical team and high quality after-sales service.

Yellowbrick 3 is ideal for professional use anywhere in the world. Offering full data encryption to AES-256 standard, it includes multiple language settings. Yellowbrick 3 has been professionally rated to EU standard IP67 for waterproofing and dust resistance, and is ruggedly constructed to US MIL Standards. Extensively tested to ensure its robustness and reliability in extreme environments, the device has been fully trialled to prove its functionality.

Yellowbrick 3 is available in four different contract options; basic, standard, professional and corporate, with a staged pricing structure offered according to the level of functionality chosen. Multiple units can be used for Professional and Corporate accounts.

Track24 Solo Launches Satellite-Based Tracking & 2-way Messaging Solution

April 08, 2011

Security tracking specialist Track24, has today launched the first global tracking and messaging solution for individuals and small businesses. The Track24 Solo solution uses the Iridium satellite network and Track24’s mapping software to provide reliable and affordable, global tracking and 2-way text messaging capabilities.

“Solo is first end-to-end satellite-based tracking and messaging solution.”

The Solo launch follows the success of Track24’s enterprise and defence solutions, used by companies and governments around the world, to aid location-based communication and emergency management for employees and troops on the ground, in unstable or hostile regions.

Tim Grant, CEO of Track24 comments: “Recent events in Libya and Japan illustrate the value of instant communication, particularly the ability to locate an individual and for them to alert you if they are in trouble. In these situations, the mobile phone GSM network is often insufficient, whether through failure, or because the individual finds themselves out of signal range – it’s estimated that up to 85% of the globe does not have GSM coverage. The only way critical communication can then be achieved is through a reliable satellite network.

“Previously, this type of technology has only been available to large organisations or the very wealthy. Now, for the first time, friends, family or small employers can access a simple, flexible service, providing them with communication, location and emergency beacon capability using satellites. Few people realise that satellite text messaging can be cheaper than sending an SMS while on roaming. This is groundbreaking.”

Cobra PhoneLynx system for yachts.

December 09, 2010

While many large yachts and superyachts have an onboard telephone system, most owners prefer to use their cell phones to communicate when on the water or at a marina.  Now, the Cobra PhoneLynx™ system lets users make and receive phone calls on their onboard telephone using their cell phone signal and service.

Cobra PhoneLynx™

Cobra PhoneLynx™

Utilizing Bluetooth® wireless technology to link the owner’s cell phone with phones onboard yachts, installation is easy and similar to pairing a cell phone with a wireless headset.  When the cell phone rings, the onboard phone will ring.  When placing an outgoing call through the yacht phone, the call goes through using the cell phone number.

Once aboard, the Cobra PhoneLynx system wirelessly connects an owner’s cell phone with the phones that previously were used with the landline.  They can then use the onboard phone with their cell phone number while keeping their cell phone charging in a safe and dry location.  If owners or charter guests leave their cell phone in a location that gets strong cell phone reception such as the top deck or aft deck, they’ll find that their vessel phones perform better in the office down below for example and in other poor cell signal locations.

The Cobra PhoneLynx delivers exceptional call clarity with its ClearCall™ noise-canceling technology.  Many consumers notice how their cell phone connection sounds better than ever before.  The Cobra PhoneLynx system is easy to install and pair to almost any cell phone.
