Azimut-Benetti Group present at 2012 Hainan Rendezvous

April 02, 2012

The prestigious Italian top-quality luxury pleasure yacht builder – Azimut-Benetti Group, pulls out all the stops at Hainan Rendez-Vous proves its leadership in China as well as around the world. The group exhibit at a 400m booth, largest in the entire exhibition, where customers and visitors are invited to come and see 7 different models, including the Azimut 64, Azimut 88 yacht and the motor yacht Delfino 93′ Benetti. To be noted that all the fleet on display at Hainan Rendezvous has already been sold, confirming the leadership position of the Company also from the sales point of view.

The motor yacht Azimut 64, is going to be officially delivered to its owner during the course of this year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous. This boat had been purchased off-plan during last year’s edition when the boat owner was captured by its design. This boat is the natural evolution of the Azimut 62 that has achieved unprecedented sales with 200 units sold worldwide. Azimut 64 features stylistic innovations, exceptional safety features and an outstanding layout. Seeking even further enhancements, the boat owner has invested an additional 300,000 Euros for exclusive materials, fabrics and top of the line finishes.

The dominant feature of the Azimut 88 yacht is a blend of elegant forms and excellent use of space: in essence, it is the perfect balance of comfort, space and style, with zero compromise. Its 27 metres of elegance include a square-shaped saloon which can be combined with the dining area to create a single large space. This area offers a total privacy for the boat owners and their guests who can enjoy a loft-scale living area completely set apart from the crew.

The  motor yacht Delfino 93’ embodies Benetti’s strong connection with both tradition and innovation. It is one of a kind, with the design, technology, functionality and comfort typically found in larger yachts. Its exterior lines include large areas of uninterrupted windows, allowing the boat owner and guests to enjoy breath-taking water views from many different locations. For the first time in a boat of this size, the yacht in display has  an RGB White lighting system with LED fixtures both inside and out.

The exponential growth in awareness seen by the Azimut brand during the last year and half is attributable to its  presence in China  since 2007. At the beginning via representative offices and more recently through its direct presence as wholly owned companies formed under local law, Azimut (Shanghai) Trading Co. Ltd., opened last November.

During the same period the brand won numerous awards and recognitions, crowning it the top brand of the boating world. From its side, Benetti has founded last August, Benetti Asia Co. Ltd based in Hong Kong  with the objective to support the sale presence and the after-sale services. Azimut-Benetti Group has managed to transfer its core strengths, appreciated worldwide, to China too: economic and financial stability, the prestige of its different brands (Atlantis, Azimut, Azimut Grande and Benetti) and its strong commitment to research and innovation.

The success which Azimut-Benetti Group has built up over time is further reinforced by its being awarded first place for the thirteenth time in the Global Order Book. This is the yearly ranking of leading international boat manufacturers compiled by the prestigious US magazine ShowBoats International.

The company has undergone gradual growth over the course of its 43-year history; its success has been due to a solid business policy which has ensured production values increase at an average rate of 15% per year for the last 15 years, despite the turbulence in the world financial markets. Knowing  there is a financially sound company backing up a boat purchase makes a real difference to Group boat owners around the world. In addition, the Company has always reinvested a significant portion of profits into its own growth and development (approximately EUR 500 million in the last 10 years). This has led to its owning 9 shipyards in Italy and 2 abroad (Turkey and Brazil) as well as being present on all major boat markets worldwide, including a sales and assistance network distinguished for its comprehensive coverage and competence.

Boats exhibited at the show:

12th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster a Success

March 21, 2012

March 10 saw the end of the 12th edition of Yachtmaster – the much expected annual event dedicated to captains of Azimut Benetti’s fleet of superyachts over 85ft. The Umbrian capital of Perugia, well-known all over the world for its art, was specially selected as the beautiful backdrop for this successful event.

12th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster a Success

The event consisted of three intense days of meetings, round table discussions, and workshops with captains alongside Azimut, Benetti, and Yachtique (the Group’s business line dedicated to customer service) technicians and sales managers, industry experts, and international journalists all discussing issues related to cruising, yacht and crew management, new tax and insurance regulations and standards; the participants was also brought up to speed on the new technology being introduced at the Group’s boatyards.

This year’s theme “Where future begins”, was aimed at identifying and devising – in conjunction with the captains – concrete methods for defining and developing future products and services, making use of what emerged from the previous edition entitled “Building ideas together”; the event was also focussed on identifying new ideas, new motivations, and new needs in the world of yachting.

As has become customary in this event, there was no shortage of opportunities for fun, relaxation, and team competition. After last year’s exciting race with Vasco Vascotto and Francesco DeAngelis, this year featured a plunge straight into the green heart of Umbria in Val Nerina; with climbs, tactical team competitions, and breathtaking flights exploring nature’s largest amusement park: all without any negative environmental or acoustical impacts.

Next year’s date has already been set; but as usual, the location and theme won’t be revealed until 2013.

Record-breaking Miami Boat Show 2012 for Azimut-Benetti Group’s Megayacht division

February 27, 2012

Important news for Benetti and Azimut Grande at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show, where the division of the Azimut-Benetti Group building 30 + metre boats presented three new luxury vessels: the Benetti Classic 121 motor yacht Domani and the FB253 Diamonds Are Forever superyacht as well as the Azimut Grande 116 luxury yacht Cinque. Benetti also announced the start of construction on a new 90 metre steel and aluminium vessel, while Azimut Grande has started works on a new 140 foot trideck planing model.

For Benetti, the new offerings exhibited at the event were the classic 121 superyacht Domani and the FB 253 luxury yacht Diamonds Are Forever. The first of these is one of the six Benetti Class line jewels produced at the historic shipyard location in Viareggio; a shipyard where – thanks to the recent inauguration of a second manufacturing area (at the Lucca dockyard) – there are 14 vessels in construction.

The FB253 luxury yacht Diamonds Are Forever, on the other hand, is a Benetti vessel custom built at the brand-new shipyard in Livorno where 12 models from 46 metres and up are currently under construction. The aluminium and steel megayacht was launched at the end of November 2011. As soon as she reached her owner, she set out again, this time for the Miami International Boat Show where she made her world debut.

Benetti FB253 megayacht Diamonds Are Forever

Benetti FB253 megayacht Diamonds Are Forever

With a length of 61 metres and four decks, the megayacht Diamonds Are Forever was the star of the event in addition to being the biggest vessel ever exhibited at an American boat show.

It was a distinction which the shipyard and the yacht’s famous owners John and Janette Staluppi celebrated on opening night with a private party onboard; the party had a James Bond theme, fitting since the vessel takes its names from one of the adventure film saga’s titles.

For Azimut Grande – Azimut’s most exclusive range of 30 + metre planing yachts – there is news on both sides of the Atlantic. While the new Azimut Grande 116 Cinque yacht drew admiration in the US at the Miami boat show, in Viareggio, Italy another unit from the same series was being launched. They are two masterpieces where the Azimut Grande design philosophy really outdoes itself: from layout to the interior styling, Azimut Grande 116’ tells a unique story which is true portrait of the personalization requirements of its owner down to the last detail.

However, the megayacht division news does not end with the boat show: during the awaited press lunch with the American industry press, Benetti officially announced that work was starting on the brand-new custom 90 metre yacht in steel and aluminium, and that Azimut Grande was starting construction of a new 140’ trideck planing model.

A series of innovations which confirm once again the success and vitality of the megayacht division, able to offer boat owners a one of a kind manufacturing experience designed to meet the specific requests of the owners, the highest expression of “Made in Italy” for quality of materials and craftsmanship as well as for ongoing after-sales customer service available in every corner of the globe.

The Azimut Benetti Group, which has specialised in the offering of boats and services for 42 years, has always stood out for its strong innovative capabilities, which today make it the world leader in integrated boating services: products from 35’ to 300’, and 360° services for its customers.

These are the very things that make the Azimut Benetti Group the only private player in the boating industry with a compound annual growth rate over 10 years by 16% of the turnover, net assets of EUR 300 million, no liabilities to banks or financing institutions, and the ability to make an investment of more than EUR 80 million in new models and service for the next three years.

This location can be easily reached by the crew, who can lay the table and serve meals by accessing the adjoining and well insulated kitchen (integral part of the crew quarters).

Large elliptical full-height windows on the sides illuminate the main deck and the raised pilot house. Six large oval portholes illuminating the guest’s cabins characterize the lower deck.

The owner suite is located in the central section of the lower deck (in the optional version, in the bow section of the main deck) and it is possible to accommodate a customised area (media room etc.) on the main deck and access to the cabin is via a dedicated staircase.

Whatever the layout, the owners shall enjoy a cabin with optimum space, comfort and natural light. Two twin spacious VIP cabins look into the central lobby and are both equipped with large windows.

On the sundeck (more than 70 square metres) the perfect balance between sun and shade can be easily achieved using two independent bimini tops integrated in the hard top, which open electronically and can be used at sea. The crew cabins are to prow of the lower deck and can be easily modified either with two or three cabins all with bathroom or with a dining area or a washing and ironing area.

All on board systems conform to the highest standards in terms of quality, comfort and security.

Azimut Yachts and Atlantis record strong sales at the 2012 Miami Boat Show

February 24, 2012

Azimut Yachts and Atlantis confirm “best seller” leadership in the Americas, following the conclusion of the 2012 Miami International Boat Show. Azimut Yachts thus confirms its position as the No. 1 European importer in this market.

The Azimut 95 Superyacht

The Azimut 95 Superyacht

“Highly satisfied!” was the first on-the-spot comment by Marco Valle, Sales Director for Azimut Yachts and Atlantis, who returned to headquarters with 23 signed contracts, foremost among these the sale of an Azimut Yachts 95.

Also meeting with great satisfaction was Atlantis, the specialist for opens, which was in attendance at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show with its entire line, including two models – the 38 and the 58 yachts.

Likewise noteworthy are the recent sales and service agreements concluded with MarineMax and with a broad network of Azimut dealers in Central and South America, with the company achieving good sales success and making new contacts.

At the halfway point of the 2011/12 boating season, Azimut has reached 75% of total sales volume for the Americas generated over the entire 2010/11 season. The increase in sales, particularly in the United States, demonstrates how customers are always more motivated to purchase our products “due, on the one hand, to the loyalty built up over the years to the Azimut Yachts brand and, on the other, to continual product innovation and to all of the integrated services and customer support offered to owners,” said Paolo Casani, CEO of Azimut Yachts and Atlantis, during the traditional press lunch on the splendid terrace of the Soho Beach House.

Choosing Azimut Yachts also means being able to count on an on-site service network. Indeed, the Azimut USA Service Center has been in operation since 2004, guaranteeing that repairs are made in a timely manner, thanks also to a global Intranet system that immediately alerts the boatyard about requests for spare parts.

The strategic and network presence in the territory and the drive for continuous innovation have always been trademarks of Azimut Yachts, which now maintains representative offices in Brazil and China.

In terms of new product development, Azimut benefits from its own R&D department, which collaborates closely with universities and suppliers throughout the world, and it is able to rely on significant investment: EUR 25 million during the last three years alone, dedicated exclusively to new models.

The strategic importance of boating services has prompted the Azimut Benetti Group to dedicate an entire company to this business, Yachtique, where customers can have access to the most complete offerings available today in the world of yachting: Mooring Place, Crew Recruiting, Financing, Brokerage, Charter, and Styling lounge.
