The Blohm + Voss SuperYacht ORCA was launched last Friday

The 96 metre Michael Leach designed  and Blohm + Voss made superyacht Orca was launched last Friday from the shipyard in Hamburg in Germany.

This futuristic superyacht named Orca has been designed by the British design studio Michael Leach Design Ltd.

The Orca features a futuristic exoskeletal curving superstructure, aggressive lines and innovative glazing. Its large entertaining and private spaces will feature  furniture from the well known British firm Silverlining,  each piece being handmade by a single craftsman and stamped with their signature silver hallmark. Metrica is in charge of the interior execution, and Cougar Marine will provide two custom limousine tenders stored on the yacht’s sports deck.

Orca has a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure and said to be powered by 2 x MTU 575 L70 Diesel engines.

This impressive Super Yacht is due to be launched just in time for the Mediterranean summer season 2010.

ISA 63m superyacht revealed

ISA (International Shipyards Ancona) have built their largest super yacht to date which has been spotted outside the shed in which she was built. The incredible new 63 metre motor yacht is the first of three superyachts over 50 meters due to be launched and delivered by the shipyard this year.

The magnificent 63m displacement vessel has an impressive long sloping stern and sleek and energetic lines with a moonstone coloured hull and a stark white superstructure. The yachts exterior was designed by Andrea Vallicelli along with ISA’s architects. Her interior which was designed by Patrick Knowles has been described as “Key West-styled” and incorporates the clever use of bamboo and natural materials.

The project employed 310 direct and indirect staff members. It has taken around two and a half years to complete the construction which was commissioned in September 2007 with her launch date planned ahead of schedule in April 2010, before the summer season in the Mediterranean.
