Driven by the needs of the current market, Superyacht Events will host a truly interactive, progressive one-day forum with top industry experts, concise analysis and enlightened debate. Held on 28 April in Monaco, the programme is now confirmed and registration is open, so ask yourself one question: can you afford to miss out on this opportunity?

Welcome Address

Stephen Coleclough, Secretary General for the Confederation Fiscale Europeenne and Consultant for Mishcon de Reya, will set the tone for the day with vital updates, statistics and powerful analysis of the current state of the superyacht fiscal market. Coleclough, a key figure within the tax world, will conclude this compelling speech with a working white paper for the European Commission that will be completed during the day.

Think Tanks I and II

This year’s SMM: Fiscal will have a new dynamic format. Replacing the traditional passive conference climate, delegates will work alongside industry experts in two specifically targeted think tanks covering four issues. These two sessions, separated by a networking lunch, provide attendees with the opportunity to move between different topics, groups and discussions, enabling contribution across the entire debate.

The following subjects will be covered:

  • Commercially operated yachts
  • EU-owned private yachts that occasionally charter
  • Yachts that could qualify for temporary admission but wish to charter occasionally
  • The possibility of a one-stop shop for future VAT

White Paper Formulation All attendees will reconvene for the final session to brainstorm the different outcomes and articles drafted during the think tank sessions. Coleclough will lead discussions in finalising the working white paper: highlighting how we can present better tax treatment for yachts; emphasizing the value of the superyacht industry for the economy; and creating a clearer system to benefit both policy makers and end users. This paper will then be delivered to MEPs and EU Commissioners.
