Incredibly perfect weather combined with high quality displays attracted capacity crowds over the five days of the show, and as a result, visitor and exhibitor confidence was high.

Australian Superyachts, the only company exclusively exhibiting superyacht services at the show, reported strong interest in its products and services.

Australian Superyachts’ CEO Captain Richard Morris said, “We were thrilled with the response on our stand.  Australians are buying large superyachts in numbers never seen before as a result of historically high exchange rates with the USD, EURO and the Pound Sterling, in some cases, making them up to 75% cheaper than only two years ago.  As such, demand for superyacht specific assistance including management, charter, crew recruitment, agency and consulting services has never been stronger; as has recently been widely reported in international media including Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg, Australian Financial Review and National Nine News Australia. “Our charter division received a major boost with the inclusion of the 120 foot charter superyacht ‘Ghost II’ exhibited in the show and featured in The Australian newspaper.  It is a privilege to now have such a fabulous, high quality, world class superyacht available to offer our charter clients”.

Donna Morris, Principal Trainer for Australian Superyacht Crew Recruitment & Training, delivered a daily presentation to prospective crew at the show titled ‘Working aboard Superyachts’.

“Given that approximately 20% of all crew working aboard all superyachts worldwide are Australian, demand is very high for our training packages that include Superyacht Induction, STCW Safety Training, Stewardess and Steward Training.  We booked out many future courses and have now expanded into the Gold Coast, Queensland, in order to meet this surge in demand”, said Donna.

Australian Superyachts is also an Australian distributor of SeaBob, the German manufactured diving aid now regarded as standard equipment to have aboard a superyacht.

“We had huge interest in the SeaBob display on our stand and sold quite a few units with many more serious inquiries to follow up.  With the Australian Dollar exchange rate to the EURO about 34% higher than two years ago, SeaBobs have never been cheaper for Australians to acquire and we expect them to be very popular this coming summer”, Captain Morris said.
