H.E. Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al-Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the National Transport Authority (NTA) visited the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) pavilion during his tour of the Seatrade Middle East Maritime 2014, where authority officials gave a detailed explanation about its services that aims to reinforce the UAE’s maritime sector at the regional as well as global level. DMCA attended the exhibition to show the best practices to the decision-makers and business pioneers of the maritime sector, along with the amazing growth prospects available within the maritime sector of the breath-taking Dubai yacht charter destination.

During his visit, Dr. Al-Nuaimi assessed the efforts of DMCA in upgrading the maritime sector as well as to highlight Dubai as the world’s leading centre for marine excellence and innovation. He pointed out that the UAE’s maritime sector will play a major role in the national economy due to the country’s potentials, qualifications and its strategic role in the global maritime arena. Dubai’s high economic and logistical properties make it a favorable global nautical destination and an investment center in both global and regional maritime sectors.

Organized by Seatrade, Seatrade Middle East Maritime sees the participation of 298 international exhibitors from 34 countries spread over 4,983 sq m of exhibition space, registering an increase of 14 per cent over the 2012 edition. The participants have come to explore the promising opportunities available across the local, regional and international maritime sectors. It aims to establish strong strategic partnerships among industry leaders to make optimal use of new business opportunities. The event offers an ideal platform to promote robust cooperation between decision-makers, experts, businessmen and industry professionals to exchange international best practices to drive maritime sector development.

Held every two years, Seatrade Middle East Maritime focuses on features important to the maritime industry, such as commercial marine, offshore, ports, piracy, and energy services. With a wide audience spanning across the whole of the Middle East, the show attracts the region’s largest number of key industry players, as well as strong international representation. This year’s event features the country pavilions of China, Malaysia, Singapore, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UK, among others with over 7,000 participants from 67 countries anticipated for the 3-day conference and exhibition.
