In a first, the show will take up five halls in the Gran Via Exhibition Centre while the on-water Show in Port Vell is expected to exceed the 250 yachts that were displayed at last year’s show.

Riviera Yachts will have five yachts on display including the new luxury yacht 70 Enclosed Flybridge, motor yacht 60 Enclosed Flybridge, 45 Enclosed Flybridge superyacht, luxury yacht 5000 Sport Yacht and the motor yacht 3600 Sport Yacht with IPS. Riviera’s floating display is located at the main entrance of the on-water Show.

Director of sales and marketing for Europe, Asia and the Middle East, David Taylor said the Riviera display was at the focal point of all people entering the boat show and by far the very best location in the show.

“We anticipate a very successful show and look forward to the Friday evening VIP function hosted by IMS for their customers at the Riviera display with entertainment, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. IMS will also be hosting a media luncheon at the Club Nautico in Barcelona on the Thursday prior to the show,” David said.

The 70 Enclosed Flybridge superyacht has a cruise speed of 30 knots and top speed of around 34 knots depending upon engine options and a cruising range of 1,000nm.

Since the 70’s official launch in August 2008, Riviera has built and launched an impressive six 70s, which are very customised builds rather than pure production yachts.

The owner of the 70 Enclosed Flybridge superyacht was from Switzerland but kept his yacht in Gibraltar, which is at the mouth of the Mediterranean.

“During the summer months he spends a lot of time on his yacht travelling throughout the Mediterranean. He fishes as well as entertains business clients,” David said.

“He selected the motor yacht 70 Enclosed Flybridge based on his past experience with Riviera, the layout, fit and finish, quality and the soft dry ride he experienced with his pervious Rivieras, a 51 and 58 Enclosed Flybridge motor yachts. Another reason he selected Riviera was the ability to customise the boat to his liking for business and entertainment for instance the office, saloon layout, galley layout, extended flybridge, sun pads, and crew quarters to name just a few personalised changes.

“The owner has very kindly allowed us to display his luxury yacht 70 Enclosed Flybridge at the Barcelona International Boat Show in November. Several dealers will bring prospective customers to Barcelona to see this exciting new yacht, which is the first 70 Enclosed Flybridge yacht to be displayed in Europe.  “

Riviera’s large yacht program project manager Paul Wrench said the 70 yacht was ideally suited for long range cruising.

“This boat will have a permanent skipper. It will be used full-time for six months of the year and being the first Riviera 70 to go to Europe, the long term Riviera owner is happy to promote the 70 in Europe,” Paul said.

“The beauty of this yacht is that it is a self-contained luxury waterfront home that can take you anywhere in the world, as it has its own fresh water maker system that produces 285 litres per hour and twin generator sets to make all the power needed to live aboard, sleeping accommodation for up to 12 in four separate cabins each with their own ensuite, an aft galley which is centrally located between the cockpit and saloon and opens to the mezzanine alfresco dining area through a large awning window and stainless steel and glass door.  The aft galley positioning can also easily serve the flybridge.”

Riviera’s floating display will be located at located at the main entrance of the on-water Show and will feature five yachts including the 70 Enclosed Flybridge superyacht, motor yacht 60 Enclosed Flybridge, luxury yacht 45 Enclosed Flybridge, super yacht 5000 Sport Yacht and the motor yacht 3600 Sport Yacht with IPS. The show hours are 10:00am to 8:00pm weekends, 10:00am to 7:00pm week days.
