The US shipyard, Offshore Yachts, has proudly announced that the all-new Offshore 87′ motor yacht has been successfully sold and is currently nearing completion at the factory. Although sold, superyacht Offshore 87′ will soon arrive in California’s Newport Beach, and will be available for inspection. Offshore 87′ has been introduced together with the Offshore 92′ yacht.

Offshore Yacht’s primary goals when designing these contemporary styled long range yachts were to meet the demands for maximum comfort and maximum safety. Thoughtfully designed from the keel up the Offshore 87′ and 92′ more than meet this criteria. These sleek new models are based on the Offshore’s well proven 21’6” beam hull which incorporates yard’s renowned deep Vee entry.

Whether underway or at anchor the 87′ & 92′ superyachts have an extremely soft, comfortable and easy motion. Innovations to their bottom design cause the yachts to run at a level attitude even at high speeds and give her enhanced directional stability in following and quartering seas. The 87′ & 92’s deep fine fore foot continues the Offshore maxim of “the softest ride on the water” by assuring a soft entry with no pounding even in large head seas.

92′ OFFSHORE
Her generous freeboard and flair coupled with her wide radiused chine accomplish the driest ride possible. As with all Offshores, the new 87′ and 92′ models’ center of gravity has been kept as low as practicable with fixed weights located at the center of buoyancy all of which add to their stability underway and at anchor.

The main deck is one level from bow to stern and is recessed between high bulwarks to achieve the ultimate safety at sea. Easy access boarding is achieved through port and starboard hull doors via the boarding ladder and by way of dual stairways at the large integrated swim platform. At the starboard side of the aft deck a molded curved stairway leads from the aft deck to the boat deck and Sky Lounge. Covered Joystick controls are located in the curved stairway. At the port side of the aft deck an enclosed stairway leads to the lazarette, crew quarters and spacious engine room all of which can also be accessed via a flush transom door. Seating and storage cabinets are located at the forward deck.

The spacious aft deck and wide aft side decks are fully covered providing maximum shade and weather protection. The 92′ Offshore yacht’s wide walk-around decks are indispensable for boarding, handling lines and provide safety at sea. Large low windows offer exceptional visibility from the Sky Lounge and from all the main deck accommodations.

The Offshore 87′ and 92′ feature a large sky lounge with excellent visibility from the helm station. Located port & starboard exterior of the Sky Lounge are Joystick control stations. These controls provide the best possible visibility when docking or picking up a mooring. Various arrangements are available in the Sky Lounge with a day head a standard feature. A very spacious boat deck aft of the Sky Lounge accommodates a number of comfortable seating and dining arrangements as well as space for a large dinghy and other water craft.

Mandatory requirements for the Sky Lounge were excellent visibility at the main helm station and easy access via interior and exterior stairways. Complete cross ventilation of the wheelhouse is accomplished with two overhead hatches and three exterior doors. The Sky Lounge side decks are covered by a full overhang of the roof providing shade and weather protection.

The 87-92’s engine room, which affords full headroom, is accessed from the crew/lazaret area and incorporates an overhead emergency hatch at the forward end of the engine room. The overhead and fore and aft bulkheads of the engine room use the latest in sound deadening insulation. Additionally the standard “Seatorque” shaft systems reduces engine vibration and noise as the engines float on soft engine mounts. Shaft turbulence and drag is reduced as the shafts are enclosed in an oil filled casing which also increases efficiency.

An advanced underwater exhaust system coupled to a muffled bypass system minimizes main engine exhaust noise. The standard twin 30 KW generators with sound shields are exhausted through gas/water separators creating noise free electrical generation.

An extremely strong FRP upper rub rail capped with solid stainless steel is complemented by additional heavy duty rub rails at deck level and water line level both of which are also capped with solid stainless steel.

The 87′ and 92′ standard specification list provides a complete turn-key yacht and is quite possibly the most extensive you will find in a yacht of her size. Equipment such as bow and stern thrusters, stabilizers, chilled water air-conditioning system, power steering, shore power voltage regulation transformers, Stidd chairs, and Maretron monitoring system are not only standard but of the highest quality obtainable. A close look at her specifications will show that only the highest quality materials have been chosen—from her high-tech construction materials to the high caliber of her extensive standard galley equipment.

Offshore’s new 87′ and 92′ yachts are truly innovative cruising vessels offering the very best in design, comfort, and standard equipment. Combined with Offshore Yacht’s long established reputation for quality and resale value these new models will not only prove to be a joy to own and cruise but will also prove to be a wise investment.
