Completely rebuilt from a commercial fishing trawler in 2012, motor yacht PACIFIC HQ is a spacious 26-metre expedition vessel now available for both TONGA yacht charters as well as NEW ZEALAND yacht charter in the SOUTH PACIFIC. During the summer months in the southern hemisphere, charter yacht PACIFIC HQ is based in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, and in winter her base will be once again in Tonga. She is an ideal charter yacht for groups of couples or families alike, boasting excellent cabin-versatility.

TONGA YACHT CHARTER

Tonga yacht holidays will make you feel as if you’ve sailed to paradise! This untouched world of 71 enchanting islands is a perfect destination to unwind and forget about the busy world outside. The northern archipelago of VAVA’U is a popular sailing and motor yacht charter destination thanks to its unique charm and unrivalled beauty. Waters here play every imaginable shade of blue and green, washing over white sandy beaches, protected by reefs. Vava’u is a great place for snorkelling, swimming and sailing with the clarity of water exceeding 100 feet!

Another lovely destination is the HA’APAI group of 62 islands, of which only 17 are inhabited. On those 17 islands, there are approximately 8,000 people settled in 30 villages. The islands include barrier reefs, shallow lagoons, coral shoals, and even active volcanoes, but most are small low-lying coral atolls. Much of the history of the Ha’apai is equal to that of all of Tonga, but the Ha’apai also has a extraordinary maritime history, including the well-known explorers Captains Tasman, Cook, and Bligh. It also includes the lesser known, but equally interesting, William Mariner. The main island of the Ha’apai group is also named Ha’apai, with the quaint old ‘town’ of Pangai as its centre. On Ha’apai, yacht charterers will experience a way of life which is completely relaxed and slow-paced. Here you can swim, snorkel, fish or surf, or do absolutely nothing. Game fishing is abound here – as in all Tongan waters.

Hunga Lagoon is an attractive enclosed area and you can sail west from here to experience excellent deep-sea fishing for tuna, dorado and sailfish. Tonga also features many sea caves which can be visited on your Tonga yacht charter holiday, such as Swallows cave on the northern tip of Kapa Island or Mariner’s Cave, located at the northwest end of Naupapu Island. There is a nice selection of Tonga charter yachts available for rent, in addition to expedition yacht Pacific HQ.
