Maintenance and repair works for 67m research motor yacht GOLDEN SHADOW at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard

December 2013 saw the 67-metre research motor yacht Golden Shadow head to Rivergate Marina & Shipyard specifically for maintenance as well as repair works. The modern Golden Shadow yacht is a part of the Golden Fleet, whose Saudi Arabian owner, who is a keen oceanographer, makes the vessel available for scientific purposes worldwide in support of the Living Oceans Foundation, of which he is chairman.

The Living Oceans Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to ocean conservacy and restoration through applied environmental science, education and outreach, and working with local partners and governments to promote coral reef conservation.

Launched in 1995 by Campbell Shipyards and designed by Francis Design, Motor Yacht Golden Shadow sits at 219 feet and draws 14 feet.

Works to the Golden Shadow yacht included:

–          Upholstery of vessel furniture

–          Replacement of carpets throughout vessel

–          Extensive stabiliser works

–          Lloyds Register certified crane load testing

–          Grey Water tank works including valve and vent pipe

–          Chemical clean of drains throughout vessel

–          All tender servicing

–          Chemical clean of gearbox cooler, main engine plate cooler

–          Thermographic photography.
