Humphreys Yacht Design is thrilled to announce that Oyster Yachts have signed the build contract for the first of the new Oyster 118 yacht class. Sailing yacht Oyster 118 represents the Humphreys studio’s largest model for Oyster Yachts to date, in a range that currently varies in size from 46-118ft.

It is 17 years since the first Oyster of Humphreys’ design, sailing yacht Oyster 56, launched and in that time the studio has drawn 17 models in total, with the first luxury yacht Oyster 118 being their 358th individual Oyster. In what Oyster Yachts describe as a ‘special partnership’ it has indeed been a unique and immensely enjoyable relationship, with both parties locked into the blue water philosophy that is at the heart of every Oyster.

Despite that very clear sense of direction, the Oyster range has been anything but static and with every model Humphreys Yacht Design seek continuous improvement. It is perhaps not surprising that in the time they have worked together there should be some generational shifts in design, such as to the twin-rudder solutions for the more recent models and an ongoing quest for improved performance, always without compromising the core values.
