Naval Architect and Designer Michael Peters about the 40m Hodgdon Yacht Project:

“Design is about capturing the essence of a client’s vision. It is a process. It is less about an exact design and more about leveraging the opportunity or process on a path to success. In this case, the stimulation for the essence came from the admiration of a single line form – a silhouette of an early race boat design on our website. That cue drove the evolution of the aesthetic. For instance, a subtle but prominent design element, the after section bustle, compliments the overall from execution giving the design a unique, dramatic, and sexy character to the overall aesthetic”.

“In considering the range of amenities to the design, the request for a raised pilot house, often difficult to accommodate efficiently, was turned into a wonderful sense of mysterious allure in its creative cantilever style.”
