The 55.4m Turquoise motor yacht is one of the most spectacular launches of 2011. The Proteksan-built superyacht Turquoise was designed by Dubois Naval Architects and made her public debut earlier this summer at the Dubois Cup, in the glamorous surroundings of Sardinia’s Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

The Turquoise yacht features exterior styling by Dubois Naval Architects which was the experienced repeat clients’ second Dubois-designed superyacht from the same shipyard.

The 55.4-metre megayacht Turquoise is built in steel and aluminium under the hull name NB52 and offers the ultimate in cruising comfort for up to 12 guests. Her exterior combines a purposeful sheer and business-like vertical windscreen with a long, elegant, seagoing bow. The yacht is built for cruising, able to attain a maximum giving speed of 17 knots, and a 3,500-mile range at 14 knots, thanks to her two 1,500hp engines.

The M/Y Turquoise has a cool and classically modern interior by HOK Design, boasting a spectacular full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, along with an equally opulent VIP suite. Four ensuite guest cabins are arranged around a central staircase and lobby.

Simple forms and straight edges, quality high-gloss joinery and an intelligent use of bright white space are calculated to display the owner’s art collection to spectacular effect. Turquoise’s spacious saloon and formal dining table that can seat 12 guests on the main deck are served by a professionally appointed galley and pantry on the port side. Upstairs, a relaxing private upper saloon comes complete with its own pantry, a baby grand piano and leads out onto a secluded, alfresco dining area.

There are also six crew cabins together with a spacious mess and laundry. The captain’s double cabin is on the upper deck, adjoining the wheelhouse.

Turquoise is built to meet Lloyd’s X100A1 and MCA LY2 standards, and looks set to satisfy her American owner’s cruising ambitions for many years to come.
