For the very first time to be held in the heart of the city, the 2012 HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show, running from 4 to 9 September, will boast the trendy new location on the northern banks of the IJ waterway (opposite central station), with around 300 brand-new yachts on the quays. Particularly well-represented are global premiers from Dutch steel yachtbuilders, while sailing yacht highlights comprise debuts for the Contest 72CS yacht as well as Bestevaer 56ST yacht by K&M Yachtbuilders. An amazing selection of international builders will also be exhibiting their newest designs in the new layout of the event, which is divided into three nautical theme worlds: Adventure, Pleasure and Luxury.

NDSM yard in Amsterdam
The NDSM yard is a trendy location in Amsterdam situated on the northern banks of the IJ waterway. The area can be reached with a free ferry that departs from Amsterdam Central Station every 30 minutes, making the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show very accessible via public transport. Until 1984 the premises was in use as an actual shipbuilding operation. The city is currently redeveloping the area into an attractive nautical living and working environment with a special focus on culture, festivals and events.

The Amsterdam Marina currently under construction will be ready just in time for the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2012 and will later serve as a marina for permanent berth-holders and visitors. In 2013 the quay will see the completion of the HISWA Nautical Centre Amsterdam, which will accommodate the harbour office, a restaurant and the HISWA head office. The upcoming edition of the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show will be using temporary facilities on the quay.

Extensive offer
During the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show the jetties of the brand-new Amsterdam Marina will accommodate open sailboats, sailyachts, luxury catamarans, motoryachts, launches, tender boats, speedboats and RIBs varying in length from 5 to 23 metres. In addition to a new location, the event will also present a new concept, in which the boats are no longer clustered by type but divided into nautical theme worlds. Adventure Island is focused on faster open boats, Pleasure Island features cruisers, while luxurious motor and sailyachts are berthed at Luxury Island.

Global steel premiers
Dutch steel yachtbuilders have an excellent global reputation. At the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show 2012 they will once again reinforce their name for quality with a wide range of innovations and premiers. Jetten Yachting, Linssen Yachts, Noblesse, Pedro-Boat, Sturier Yachts, Thomasz Yachts, Vedette Jachtbouw, Serious Yachts and Super Lauwersmeer have all announced one or more global premiers.

The exhibitors of GRP motor boats are also doing themselves proud at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show: The Broom 35 Coupé, Broom 395, Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 and Bavaria Sport are just a few of the global launches in this segment.

Impressive motoryachts
The Dutch continue to have a major interest in launches and tenders, which is why this segment is also an important part of the exhibition programme. Visitors will be presented with over 40 different models from 15 different exhibitors.

Exhibitors of luxury motoryachts include Mulder Shipyard with the custom-built 73 Flybridge yacht as a global premier; a design from Guido de Groot. Princess Yachts is showing an entire range of models varying from 13 to 23 metres. Jachtwerf Volharding-Stavoren is showing its new Sturier 620 CS, while Lengers Yachts is putting the spotlight on Ferretti, Mochi Craft and Pershing yachts. New brands in the luxury segment at the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show are the NED 70 by Nedyacht and the Proliner 63 built by Hofstra Jachtbouw.

Sailyachts in all shapes and sizes
The sailyacht segment features a wide selection in the 9 to 15 metre category. In addition to Dutch yachtbuilders such as Contest Yachts, C-Yacht, Focus Sails & Sailing, Jachtwerf Heeg, K&M Yachtbuilders, Saffier Maritiem and Winner Yachts, nearly all major international sailing brands will be represented. Some of the main global premiers in the open sailyacht and cabin yachts are the Contest 72CS, Bavaria B/One, Bavaria Vision 46, Beneteau Sense 46, SwedeStar 415. Focus 800 MKII, Bestevaer 56ST, Dehler 35 SQ, Solaris 41 and 48, Oyster 725 and Hanse 575. There will also be scores of European and Dutch premiers featured in the water.

International brands that will participate in the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show for the first time include Gunfleet (Gunfleet Marine LLP) and the Leopard catamaran (Sunsail Yachts).

Clipper Stad Amsterdam
One of the eye-catchers of the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show is the famous Dutch tall ship, charter yacht Stad Amsterdam, a 76-metre three-mast clipper that is a replica of a 19th century schooner. It will be accessible to visitors free of charge on Friday afternoon and over the weekend, giving a fine impression of craftsmanship in the Dutch maritime tradition and a unique chance to admire a yacht that is rarely on view in the Netherlands.

A wealth of activities on and around the water
The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show offers more than boats alone. On the quay exhibitors will be presenting their nautical products, clothing and accessories. The floating wine bar with its views over the yachts offers an ideal way to enjoy a break from meandering the jetties and quays. There is also plenty of action on and around the water, including the opportunity for visitors to participate in a launch sailing skill competition, daring exploits in RIBs, free manoeuvring clinics on a sailyacht, free sailing lessons for children in the Delta Lloyd Optimist Arena, and much more besides. On the quay, the WaterTheatre will feature daily lectures, presentations and workshops for and by (well-known) watersports enthusiasts (programme in Dutch only).
