‘Dubai Maritime Day’ launched by DMCA

In line with Dubai Strategic Plan goals aimed at supporting and stimulating all aspects of maritime trade and economy in the emirate, Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority responsible for regulation, coordination and supervision of all aspects of the maritime sector in the fabulous Dubai yacht charter location, has proudly launched the ‘Dubai Maritime Day’ initiative, which is expected to be held in November 2015. The event will celebrate the recent achievements of the emirate’s maritime sector and provide support to various government as well as non-government entities involved in the local industry.

‏H.E. Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and President of DMCA, said ‘Dubai Maritime Day’ will help develop the sector’s various components and further drive excellence, creativity, and innovation. The event will also maximize promising opportunities to accelerate Dubai’s transformation into becoming one of the world’s most advanced maritime hubs. H.E. also pointed out that the local maritime sector has been taking proactive steps to reinforce its role in Dubai’s sustainable growth and overall development. The industry also aims to enhance the emirate’s regional and global competitiveness.

H.E. added: “We look forward to the holding of ‘Dubai Maritime Day’ that will bring the local maritime sector to a new level of growth, sustainability and excellence. The event’s objectives can be achieved by strengthening our strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors in recognition of their continuous contributions to Dubai’s overall socio-economic progress.”

‘Dubai Maritime Day’ will feature a host of events focusing on the sector’s various aspects and the emirate’s accomplishments over the past years. It will give a special emphasis on DMCA’s present and future initiatives such as Dubai’s Maritime Sector Strategy and the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC). The authority’s initiatives are part of its efforts to reinforce Dubai’s position as a world-class maritime center.

DMCA focuses on implementing pioneering initiatives and policies to ensure the highest levels of maritime safety and operational efficiency in Dubai waters. The authority strives to become a leader in innovation, creativity and transparency as it establishes strong cooperation with the public and private sectors to consolidate Dubai’s status as a world-class maritime hub.
